BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Remove the plastic protective material. Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children.
  2. Clean the lid, the inner pot and the accessories with a mild detergent and a soft sponge. Dry the parts thoroughly.
  3. Place the inner pot back into the rice cooker.

USE

Do not use sharp or metal objects in the inner pan. These damage the non-stick coating.

Be careful when opening the lid after cooking. Hot steam escapes which can cause burns.

White or brown rice preparation

  1. Use good quality rice for best results.

  2. Measure the desired amount of rice (1 measuring cup per person).

  3. Rinse the rice under the tap until the water is clear.

  4. Put the rice in the inner pot and add 1,25 cup of cold water for each cup of rice (1 cup of rice = 1,25 cups of cold water, 2 cups of rice = 2,5 cups of cold water, etc.). Since every type and brand of rice is unique, test different rice/water ratios if the rice has not cooked perfectly.

  5. Close the lid until it makes a clicking sound.

  6. Connect the power cable to the rice cooker and plug it into the mains.

  7. Press the ON/OFF & KEEP WARM BUTTON. The display shows two dashes “- -” to indicate that the rice cooker is turned on.

  8. Depending on the type of rice you are using, press the WHITE RICE BUTTON or the BROWN RICE BUTTON. The light on the button will now light up. The dashes on the display rotate in a circle to indicate that the cooking program has started and the rice cooker is heating up.

  9. Once the rice cooker has heated up, the display will show the remaining time.

  10. The rice is ready when the display shows “0”. The keep warm function is now switched on. After
10 hours, the rice cooker will turn off automatically. You can manually turn off the rice cooker by pressing the ON/OFF & KEEP WARM BUTTON.

  11. Stir the rice with the spoon provided and serve.

  12. Turn off the rice cooker and unplug it.

Keep warm program

  1. Press the ON/OFF & KEEP WARM BUTTON twice to activate the keep warm function. The display shows a “0” to indicate that the keep warm function is enabled.
  2. The keep warm function switches off automatically after 10 hours. You can manually turn off the rice cooker by pressing the ON/OFF & KEEP WARM BUTTON.

Delay timer program

The delay timer can be used to delay the activation of a cooking program. After a set period of time, the rice cooker automatically switches on the cooking program.

  1. Prepare the rice and fill the rice cooker with the rice. Turn on the rice cooker via the ON/OFF & KEEP WARM button.
  2. Press the DELAY TIMER BUTTON to set the number of hours after which the rice cooker should automatically start the cooking program. Each press of the DELAY TIMER BUTTON increases the time by 1 hour. The maximum delay is 15 hours.
  3. Press the WHITE RICE COOKING BUTTON or BROWN RICE COOKING BUTTON to select the desired cooking program.
  4. The rice cooker will now count down and automatically switch on the selected cooking program when the time has elapsed. The rice is ready when the display shows “0”.

These are the number of minutes that the steam program will be active. Each press of the SMART STEAM BUTTON increases the time by 1 minute. The maximum number of minutes is 30.

  6. Wait for the dashes on the screen to start spinning in a circle. The steam function is now switched on and the rice cooker is heating up.

  7. Once the water has heated up to a temperature of 96-98°C, the display will show the time remaining.

  8. The rice cooker is ready when the display shows “0”. Open the lid and leave it open for 1 minute to allow the steam to escape. Use a tea towel or oven mitts to remove the steam basket from the rice cooker. Be careful: hot steam can come out from under the basket!

Slow cooking program

The slow cooking function is intended to cook ingredients slowly and at a constant temperature. This program is ideal for stews, soups or sauces that require a long cooking time.

  1. You can use the quick rice program to sauté ingredients such as garlic or onions first. To do this, switch on the rice cooker and press the QUICK RICE BUTTON. The inner pan will heat up. After a minute, add a little oil and the ingredients to sauté until translucent.

  2. Then add all ingredients to the rice cooker including the desired amount of water.

  3. Press the SLOW COOKING WITH LOW TEMPERATURE BUTTON to activate the slow cooking with low temperature program (92-93°C). The screen now shows a “6”. These are the number of hours that the slow cooking program will be active. Each press of the button increases the time by 1 hour.
The maximum number of hours is 10.

  4. ALTERNATIVE OPTION: Press the SLOW COOKING WITH HIGH TEMPERATURE BUTTON to activate the slow cooking at high temperature program (95-97°C). The screen now shows a “2”. These are the number of hours that the slow cooking program will be active. Each press of the button increases the time by 1 hour. The maximum number of hours is 5.

  5. The rice cooker is ready when the display shows “0”.

  6. Open the rice cooker and judge whether the dish is to your liking. If necessary, activate the program again to cook the dish longer.

Quick rice program

The quick rice program is intended to cook rice in the shortest possible time. The rice cooker skips the water absorption phase in this program.

  1. Follow the preliminary steps to cook white or brown rice.
  2. Press the QUICK RICE BUTTON.
  3. The rice is ready when the display shows “0”. The keep warm function is now switched on. After 10 hours, the rice cooker will turn off automatically. You can manually turn off the rice cooker by pressing the ON/OFF & KEEP WARM BUTTON.

 TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Pausible cause Solution
The rice cooker does not turn on. The device has no power. Check that the

power cable is properly connected to the rice cooker and the mains.
The rice is too dry/hard after cooking.| Too little water has been added to the rice.| Add half to a full measuring cup of cold water and stir. Then select the program again (e.g. white rice). Check the rice again when the program is finished (keep warm function). If the rice is still too dry/hard, repeat the above steps until the rice is soft.
The rice is too wet/soggy cooking.| The water has not yet been properly absorbed by the rice.| Stir the rice with the spoon. As a result, the moist rice at the bottom is better distributed and moisture is released. Close the lid and leave the rice in the keep warm function for 10-30 minutes. Stir the rice regularly to release the excess moisture.
The bottom layer is brown/caked to the bottom.| There is too much starch on the rice.| Before cooking, rinse the rice well until the water runs clear.
 |  | Another possibility is to stir the rice as soon as the rice cooker goes into the keep warm function.
