SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • Do not expose the thermometer to direct sunlight, high temperatures, excessive humidity or dustiness. Otherwise, the device may not function correctly.
  • Never rinse the thermometer under running water or submerge it in water or another liquid.
  • The thermometer is not resistant to shocks and impacts. Prevent it from falling.
  • Do not attempt to bend the thermometer
  • Do not disassemble the thermometer (except for the removal of the cover for the purpose of battery replacement) and do not perform any repairs on it.
  • Measuring the temperature of children should always be performed under adult supervision.
  • Keep the device and the batteries out of reach of children.

USING THE THERMOMETER

  1. Before first use remove the protective foil, which covers the display and the on/off button.
  2. To turn on the thermometer press the ((!)) button. All the elements will appear on the display for an instant and the thermometer will beep. Then “M” (Memory) will appear on the display, signaling the recall from memory of the last measured value. After the last measured values are shown, 37 °C will light up and a self-test will be performed. Then Lo will appear on the display (if the ambient temperature is lower than 32 °C) and the measuring unit symbol °C will flash. Now the thermometer is ready for measurement.
  3. Measure the body temperature. The current temperature is shown on the display during measurement and the measuring unit symbol °C will flash. The end of measurement is indicated by a sound (10 beeps). The measuring unit symbol °C will stop flashing and the highest measured value will be shown on the display. Take the thermometer out of the place of measurement. The measured value will be shown on the display until the thermometer is turned off. ca Note: The measurement time is approximately 30 to 60 seconds.
  4. Automatic shut-off will occur approximately 10 minutes after the last measurement. To extend the lifetime of the battery, we recommended that the thermometer is turned off using the 0 buttons.
  5. The last measured value is automatically stored in the memory of the device. This value will appear for an instant the next time the thermometer is turned on and will automatically be erased by the next measurement.

MEASURING METHODS
In the mouth (oral)
Place the tip of the thermometer on the left or right of the frenulum of the tongue. Close your mount and breathe regularly through the nose. The tip of the thermometer must remain in the same location during the measurement and must be in constant contact with the mucous membrane. Do not drink or eat before taking a measurement.
In the rectum (rectal)
From the medical point of view, this is the most accurate method for the measurement of body temperature. Carefully insert the tip of the thermometer into the rectum, however no deeper than 1.5 cm.
Under the armpit (axillary)
Place the tip of the thermometer into the deepest part of the armpit. Firmly press the arm to the body. It is important to avoid overheating the area with warm clothing or cooling the armpit before taking a measurement.
The resulting measurement of body temperature differs depending on the selected measuring method. The temperature measured in the rectum can be 0.5 °C higher compared to the temperature measured in the mouth and 0.5-1.5 °C higher compared to the temperature measured in the armpit.

REPLACING THE BATTERY

  • A micro-alkaline battery type LR41 (1.55 V) is used to power the thermometer. If the symbol a appears on the display, the battery is almost flat and needs to be replaced. Unscrew the screw that is securing the battery compartment cover. Remove the cover and replace the used battery for a new one of the same type. Respect the correct polarity when inserting the new battery. When viewing the front panel of the thermometer, the side of the battery with the “+” symbol must point downwards. Close the cover and secure in place using the screw.

CLEANING

  • Before first use clean the tip of the thermometer using a fine cloth dipped in a disinfectant (e.g. 70% ethanol). Clean the tip of the thermometer in the same way after each use. Do not sterilize the thermometer by boiling it!
  • Clean the remaining parts of the thermometer using a lightly damp fine cloth.
  • Do not use thinners or solvents for cleaning.

STORAGE

  • If you will not be using the thermometer for an extended period of time, remove the battery.
  • Store the thermometer in the protective case in a dry place out of reach of children.
