Panel descriptions
This section explains the names of the components of the GO:PODCAST and how each one works.
Adjusting the direction of the GO:PODCAST
Before using the GO:PODCAST, adjust the GO:PODCAST’s direction correctly.
-
Loosen the screws on the sides of the GO:PODCAST.
Don’t loosen the screws too much.
If you loosen the screws too much, they may come off, causing the GO:PODCAST to fall off the stand.
-
Change the direction of the GO:PODCAST while supporting the stand.
When the directivity is set to “Cardioid (single direction)”, the front of the GO:PODCAST (the side with the knobs) should be
facing the sound source. (Don’t point the top part of the mic at the sound source.)
When you swivel the mic, be careful not to get your fingers pinched between the GO:PODCAST and the stand. If small children are present, make sure that an adult provides supervision and guidance.
For details on the directivity settings, see Panel descriptions(P.3), “Directivity indicators -
Tighten the screws on the sides of the GO:PODCAST while holding the GO:PODCAST so that it doesn’t swivel.
Tighten the screws so that the GO:PODCAST doesn’t swivel.
Overtightening the screws may damage the GO:PODCAST and the stand.
Connecting your devices
This section explains how to connect external devices to the GO:PODCAST.
To prevent malfunction and equipment failure, always turn down the volume, and
turn off all the units before making any connections
Using devices with a USB Type-C® port
Here’s how to connect this device to a device that’s equipped with a USB Type-C® port (mainly Android smartphones, iPads and the like).
Required items
-
USB AC adaptor (commercially available)
-
Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport adaptor or similar (commercially available)
-
USB Type-C® to Type-C® cable or a USB Type-C® to USB A cable (commercially available)
-
If you use a USB AC adaptor or an Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport adapter (both commercially available), you can livestream while supplying power to your device that features a USB Type-C® port.
-
Have ready a cable that matches the shape of the port on your USB AC adaptor or other adaptor.
-
Do not use a USB cable that is designed only for charging a device. Charge-only cables cannot transmit data.
-
Use an AC adaptor that can supply enough current to the USB Type-C® port-equipped device you’re using.
Note that the battery may not recharge, or it may discharge even when you are supplying power to (or charging) a USB Type-C® portequipped device, depending on the USB AC adaptor’s capabilities or how you are using the GO:PODCAST app. -

Turning the power on
Connect your device equipped with a USB Type-C® port or a USB AC adaptor (both
commercially available) to the GO:PODCAST via an Apple USB-C Digital AV
Multiport adapter, as shown in the illustration
Launch the GO:PODCAST app.
Once the GO:PODCAST is correctly connected to your device equipped with a USB
Type-C® port, the “STATE” indicator on the GO:PODCAST lights up blue.
Turning the power off
Before turning the unit off, always be sure to turn the volume down. Even with
the volume turned down, you might hear some
sound when switching the unit on/off. However, this is normal and does not
indicate a malfunction.
- Unplug the USB cable from the USB port on the GO:PODCAST.
Use the included USB Type-C® to USB Type-C® cable to directly connect and use a device that has a USB Type-C® port to the GO:PODCAST.
Note that this uses a significant amount of battery power on your USB Type-C® port-equipped device, so you may not be able to use this device for as long as usual.
To use this device for a long period, we recommend connecting a USB AC adaptor.

Turning the power on
Connect your device equipped with a Lightning connector or a USB AC adaptor
(both commercially available) to the GO:PODCAST via an Apple Lightning to USB
3 Camera Adapter, as shown in the illustration.
Launch the GO:PODCAST app.
Once the GO:PODCAST is correctly connected to your device equipped with a

Unplug the USB cable from the USB port on the GO:PODCAST
When connecting an iOS device with a Lightning connector, use the Lightning to
USB 3 Camera Adapter (sold by Apple) and a USB cable (USB-C to USB-A).
USB-C to Lightning cables cannot be used.
You can still use the GO:PODCAST even without connecting a USB AC adaptor to
the Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter
- In this case, if you connect a pair of headphones to the GO:PODCAST to play back music or other audio content at loud volumes, the GO:PODCAST’s power may shut off due to an insufficient supply of current from the device equipped with a Lightning connector.
- Also, this uses a significant amount of battery power on your Lightning connector-equipped device, so you may not be able to use this device for as long as usual.
- To use this device for a long period, we recommend connecting a commercially available USB AC adaptor.
Connecting to your computer
When you connect the GO:PODCAST to a computer via USB cable, you can use the
GO:PODCAST as a USB mic.
This lets you use the mic audio recorded by the GO:PODCAST during a Web
conference, or listen to the audio from your computer through the PHONES jack
on the GO:PODCAST.
Do not use a USB cable that is designed only for charging a device. Charge- only cables cannot transmit data.
Turning the power on
After booting up your computer, use the included USB cable (USB Type-C® to USB
Type-C®, or USB Type- C® to USB A) to connect the USB port of the GO:PODCAST
to the computer.
Turning the power off
Before turning the unit on/off, always be sure to turn the volume down. Even
with the volume turned down, you might hear some sound when switching the unit
on/off. However, this is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.
- Unplug the USB cable from the USB port on the GO:PODCAST.
Connect the GO:PODCAST to your computer directly via USB cable.
The USB mic may not work correctly if you connect via a USB hub or similar device.
