BATTERY REPLACEMENT
- Replace the battery when the battery icon appears in the lower right corner of the LCD display.
- Pull the battery cover at the end of the thermometer off.
- Gently slide the plastic circuit board with the battery chamber out approximately 1 cm (slightly less than 1/2″).
- Use a pointed object, such as a small screwdriver, to remove the old battery; discard the previous battery according to local jurisdiction; insert a new 1.5V DC button type LR41 battery; Be sure the battery is installed with the “+” polarity facing up.
- Slide the battery chamber back into place and reattach the cover.
SETUP GUIDE
- Take the protector off of the thermometer’s screen.
- Press the power button to turn the thermometer on.
- When “Lo” is displayed and the “°F” symbol in the top right of the screen is flashing, the thermometer is ready to take a reading.
- Place the thermometer probe under your tongue and toward the back of your mouth.
- Close your mouth, and breathe evenly through your nose to prevent the temperature reading from being influenced by inhaled or exhaled air.
- After about twenty seconds, the thermometer will beep, signaling that your temperature has been taken.
- Press the power button to turn the thermometer off.
- The next time that you turn the thermometer on, the previously taken temperature will display on the screen.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
- Immerse the thermometer probe in distilled water for at least 1 minute.
- Use a clean, soft cloth to wipe the thermometer down and remove any residue.
- For thorough cleaning and disinfection, please do one of the following:
- Immerse the thermometer probe in 0.55% OPA(O-Phthaldehyde), such as CIDEX OPA, for at least 12 minutes at a temperature lower than 20°C, or,
- Using a clean soft cloth dipped in 70% medical alcohol, wipe the probe 3 times, for at least one minute each time.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 to remove OPA residuals.
Note: Rectal use is not recommended for home use as OPA will not be readily available outside of a hospital. If rectal measurement is necessary, high level disinfection is strongly recommended.
To prevent damage to the thermometer Please note and observe the following:
- Do not use benzene, paint thinner, gasoline, or other strong solvents to clean the thermometer.
- Do not attempt to disinfect the sensing probe (tip) of the thermometer by immersing it in alcohol, OPA or in hot water (water over 122°F(50°C)) for a long time.
- Do not use ultrasonic washing to clean the thermometer.

While your warranty does not cover damage or mistreatment to your thermometer, our priority is your happiness, and we encourage you to contact us about any issues you might have.

- Your thermometer is warranted by the manufacturer against defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from the original purchaser from the date of purchase. Proof of purchase is required.
Void Warranty
- The warranty is void if the product has been subjected to mechanical damage or mistreatment, such as immersion. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties and limits the liability of the manufacturer. This warranty gives you certain legal rights, and you may have other rights depending on which state the product was purchased in.

WARNINGS
- Use of this thermometer is not intended as a substitute for consultation with your physician or pediatrician. It is for household use only.
- When changing the battery, ensure that the thermometer is off and inactive.
- Keep out of reach of children under 12 years of age. The thermometer contains pieces that can be hazardous to small children.
- The thermometer cap and battery pose a choking hazard.
- Do not tamper with the instrument or twist the measuring sensor. This thermometer is neither shock-proof nor impact-resistant.
- Do not use the thermometer orally on infants under the age of 6 months
- Do not use the thermometer in the ear.
- Do not use the thermometer for continuous temperature monitoring purposes.
- Never use the thermometer for purposes other than those it has been intended for.
- Clean the thermometer with a soapy cloth or sponge, then dry it before the next use.
- Do not immerse in water or use chemical, abrasive cleaning agents.
- Do not put the thermometer in the dishwasher.
- Do not place the thermometer battery near extreme heat as it may explode.
- Remove the battery from the thermometer when it is not in operation.
- Do use the thermometer when it is wet, results could be inaccurate.
- Do not bite the thermometer; doing so may break it or cause injury.
- Do not force the thermometer into the rectum; this can cause injury.
- Do not use the thermometer orally after it has been used rectally.
- Do not use the thermometer orally for children under two years of age.
- If the unit has been stored at temperatures over 41°F~104°F (5°C~40°C), leave it at 41°F~104°F (5°C~40°C) ambient temperature for about 15 minutes before using it.

How do I get the most accurate reading when using the thermometer?
Regardless of which method you use to take temperature—orally, under the armpit, or rectally—to achieve the most accurate results don't eat, drink, exercise, shower or bathe, or smoke at least 15 minutes before taking your temperature. It is also recommended that if you use the thermometer under the armpit to add 1 degree to the displayed temperature for a more accurate reading.
