MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS

Caution:

  1. Compatibility Check: Theoretically, a set of 100N 15”gas springs is capable of efficiently lifting a lid weighing up to 200N. To ensure compatibility, the recommended side length for the box or door height is between 23 inches and 30 inches. So, it is crucial to assess the weight and size of the current lid on the RV/vehicle/cupboard/toy chest/box/trunk /container first. Confirm whether the gas spring is suitable for your
specific project. If it does not match, then do not attempt to use the replacement gas spring. There is a danger in using an unsuitable gas strut for an application.

  2. Inspection upon Receipt: Upon receiving the gas spring, carefully inspect both the spring and accessories.
Pay special attention to the Stroke Length (difference between fully compressed and fully extended rod length), Compressed Length, and Force specifications. Additionally, ensure you have the necessary screws, a screwdriver, and a drill for installation.

  3. Safety Caution: It’s HIGH PRESSURE inside, DO NOT open it, DO NOT approach the high temperature, DO NOT scratch, dent, chip, bend, or paint the Rod, and DO NOT puncture or incinerate it.

  4. Installation tips: During the installation process, make sure that the end fittings are aligned properly. This ensures that side load forces are not applied due to misalignment, optimizing the safety and lifespan of the gas spring.

Specific Installation Procedure

Mounting Instructions

  1. Open the top panel or door of the woodworking project you want to the desired open angle.

  2. Prepare the springs with the RODDOWN for optimum lubrication, ensuring as minor wear and tear as possible.

  3. Determine the Mounting Points.
    a) As the Bottom Mounting Point (mark as point B), please note that the spring does not need to be perfectly vertical when determining the Bottom mounting point, and the distance to the side of the lid should be 25.4mm/1 inch.
    b) As the Top Mounting Point (mark as point A), it should be 4 to 5 inch(5.5inch maximum) towards the hinge on the lid (do this bracket last so you can line up the closing with the side of the cabinet), as distance to the side, it depends on the thickness (X mm) of your box/cupboard.

  4. Punch and fix the connectors and connect the joints and the spring.

  5. Repeat it on the opposite side.

How to Fix If Gas Struts Won’t Compress?

Are you facing a problem with newly purchased heavy duty lift gas struts that won’t compress after installation? If you’re feeling the struts are too strong for any hood, you can try to adjust the mounting points first, in most case, try to install the struts more horizontally will help. Of course, it’s crucial to ensure that the size specifications align with your project before proceeding with any modifications
Mounting Instructions

Similarly, if you discover that the gas strut’s force is too weak to lift your cabinet or box door, try installing it more vertically for improved performance.
