You can use it to fry delicious dishes in no time, grill, bake, gratinate, dehydrate, heat, defrost or keep food warm. The clever combination of fast-circu-lating hot air and a heating element does not just cook chips, meat, but much more quickly and gently. The grill skewer can even be used to prepare crispy chicken and pork knuckle in no time. The timer function for precise cooking as well as the touch display and 8 cooking programmes ensure maximum ease of use. Information About the Operating Instructions
Before using the device for the first time, please read through these operating instruc-tions carefully and keep them for future reference and other users. They form an integral part of the device. The manufacturer and importer do not accept any liability if the information in these operating instructions is not complied with.

INTENDED USE

  • The device is intended to be used to heat food using hot air.
  • The device is for personal use only and is not intended for commercial or domestic-like applications, e.g. in hotels, bed and breakfasts, offices, staff kitchens or similar places.
  • Use the device only for the specified purpose and as described in the operating instructions. Any other use is deemed to be improper.
  • The warranty does not cover faults caused by incorrect handling, dam-age or attempted repairs. The same applies to normal wear and tear.

SAFETY NOTICES

WARNING: Note all safety notices, instructions, illustra-tions and technical data provided with this device. Failure to follow the safety notices and instructions may result in elec-tric shock, fire and / or injuries.

  • This device may be used by children aged 8 and over and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or a lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are super-vised or have received instruction on how to use the device safely and have understood the dangers resulting from this.
  • Children must not play with the device.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, unless they are older than 8 years of age and are supervised.
  • Children younger than 8 years of age and animals must be kept away from the device and the connecting cable.

CAUTION: hot surfaces!
The device and accessories will become very hot during use. Do not come into contact with heated parts while or after using the device! Only ever touch the handles and control panel while the device is in operation or immediately after it has been switched off. Wait until the device has cooled down fully before it is transported, cleaned or stored away. Use oven gloves when handling the hot accessories.

  • Never immerse the device and the connecting cable in water or other liquids and ensure that these components cannot fall into water or become wet. There is a danger of electric shock!
  • Do not pour any liquids (e.g. oil or water) directly into the device or place a liquid-filled vessel into the device. It works exclusively with hot air.
  • Never use the open door as a deposit surface, e.g. for the rotating basket! Hot accessories could damage the door. In addition, the device could tip over and present a risk of injury.
  • The device must always be disconnected from the mains power when it is left unattended and before transporting or cleaning the device.
  • Do not make any modifications to the device. Also do not replace the connecting cable yourself. If the device, the con-necting cable or the accessories of the device are damaged, they must be repaired or replaced by the manufacturer, cus-tomer service department or a specialist workshop in order to avoid any hazards.
  • The device is not designed to be operated with an external timer or a separate remote control system.
  • Follow the instructions in the “Cleaning and Storage” chapter!

DANGER – Danger of Electric Shock

  • Use and store the device only in closed rooms.
  • Do not use and store the device in rooms with high humidity.
  • If the device falls into water while it is connected to the mains power, pull the mains plug out of the plug socket immediately. Only after this should you retrieve the device from the water. Never attempt to pull it out of the water while it is connected to the mains power! Before using it again, have it checked by the manufacturer, customer service department or an authorised distributor in order to avoid possible hazards.
  • Never touch the device and the con-necting cable with wet hands when the device is connected to the mains power.

WARNING – Danger of Fire

  • Do not operate the device in the vicinity of combustible substances. Do not place any combustible mate-rials (e.g. cardboard, paper, plastic) on or in the device.
  • Do not cover the device during operation and keep the ventilation openings clear in order to prevent it from catching fire.
  • Do not use any extension cables.
  • In the event of a fire: Do not extinguish with water! Smother the flames with a fireproof blanket or a suitable fire extinguisher.

WARNING – Danger of Injury

  • Keep the packaging material away from children and animals. There is a danger of suffocation.
  • Make sure that the connecting cable is always kept out of the reach of young children and animals. There is a danger of strangulation.
  • Hot steam can escape from the device during operation and when the door is opened. You should therefore keep your head and hands out of the danger zone. There is a danger of scalding from heat, hot steam or condensation.
  • The device must not be moved during operation. There is a danger of burns.

NOTICE – Risk of Damage to  Material and Property

  • Make sure that the steam that emerges does not come into direct contact with electrical devices and equipment containing electrical components.
  • If a fault occurs during operation, pull out the mains plug. Otherwise always switch off the device first before the mains plug is pulled out of the plug socket.
  • Disconnect the device from the mains power before a thunderstorm or when there is a power cut.
  • Always pull the mains plug and never the mains cable when disconnecting the device from the mains power.
  • Do not pull or carry the device by the connecting cable.
  • Protect the device from other heat sources, flames, persistent moisture, persistent direct sunlight and impacts.
  • Keep the device in a dry place at temperatures of between 0°C and 40°C.
  • Never place objects on the device or the connecting cable.
  • Use only original accessories from the manufacturer in order to guarantee that no interference may prevent the device from working and to avoid possible damage.
  • Do not use any sharp-edged objects to turn or remove the food. They could damage the coatings.

BEFORE INITIAL USE

Please Note!

  • The device should be used for the first time without any food in it as it may produce some smoke or odours due to coating residues.
  1. Allow the device to heat up on the highest temperature setting (200°C) for approx. 10 minutes without any food in it. To do this, follow the instructions in the “Set-Up and Connection” and “Use” chapters.
  2. Clean all accessories with detergent and warm water or in the dishwasher.

ACCESSORIES

The heating element is located at the top of the cooking chamber, i.e. the higher up a baking mesh tray is placed, the more intense the heat is from above.

Drip Tray
The drip tray (6) should always be inserted so that any dripping fat, crumbs or other food residues can be collected in it. It is slid into the very bottom of the cooking chamber (3).

Baking Mesh Tray
The food is spread out on the baking mesh tray (5). It can be used for cooking pizza or baking cakes or for dehydrating, for example. The baking mesh tray is slid onto the rails in the cooking chamber (3).

Rotating Spit
The rotating spit consists of the shaft (8) and two rotating spit forks (7). It is suitable for grilling large pieces of meat, e.g. chicken, grilled or roast pork.

Skewering On Food

  1. Slide one fork onto the shaft and fix it in place with the locking screw (Picture D).
  2. The shaft contains two small notches (Picture C, a) which mark the outermost position of the locking screws. The locking screws must not be attached any further than the outer ends of the shaft to ensure that smooth operation is possible.
  3. Slide the food to be grilled onto the rotating spit until it rests on the fork. Do not place any pieces that are too large onto the rotating spit so that it can rotate without any hindrance.
  4. Slide the other fork onto the shaft and into the food to be grilled and fix with the locking screw.

Rotating Basket
In the rotating basket (2), the food is mixed around during cooking so that it becomes crispy on all sides. The rotating basket is particularly suitable for preparing chips or other potato products, small pieces of vegetables and meat. Preparing the Rotating Basket

  1. Remove the two rotating spit forks (7) from the shaft (8).

  2. Slot the shaft through the rotating basket (Picture E) and fix in place with the locking screw.
    Adding Food

  3. Open the flap of the rotating basket (Picture E).

  4. Fill the rotating basket no more than ¾ full with food. It should not be too full to ensure that the food is cooked evenly.

  5. Close the flap and ensure that it is shut correctly so that it does not open during use.

Inserting / Removing the Rotating Basket / Rotating Spit
Place the rotating basket (2) with the shaft (8) or the rotating spit (7+8) with the left end first (Picture C, 1.) into the mount on the left side of the cooking chamber (3). Then hook it into the holder on the right side of the cooking chamber and make sure it fits correctly. The rotating spit / rotating basket must not be able to rotate about its own axis when the device is switched off. If this is not the case, plug the left-hand end of the shaft deeper into the mount. After use, remove the hot rotating spit / rotating basket from the cooking cham-ber using the removal tool (9) (see the “Removal Tool” section). Always use oven gloves to open and empty the rotating basket or to remove the food from the rotating spit.

Removal Tool
The hot rotating spit (7+8) and the rotating basket (2) including shaft (8) is removed from the cooking chamber (3) using the removal tool (9). To do this, place the ends of the removal tool under the shaft (Picture F). Lift up the right side of the shaft first. Then carefully lift the rotating basket or rotating spit out of the cooking chamber and place it down on a heat-resistant surface.

PROGRAMMES AND FUNCTIONS

The device has 8 preset programmes (15). To select a programme, touch the respective symbol on the control panel (1). When the symbol flashes, the program is activated. While it is flashing, the time and temperature of the program can be manually adjusted or another program can be selected. The times and temperatures which are set for the programmes should be adjusted if necessary to ensure that the food (in particular poultry) is fully cooked. Adjustments can also be made during the cooking process.

Adjusting the Temperature and Cooking Time
The set temperature and cooking time are shown alternately on the display (11). The preset values are 185°C and 15 minutes. The cooking temperature (12) and the cooking time  (13) can be adjusted both without using a preset program and when a programme is chosen: Touch the symbol  (19), then touch the respective symbol (10 / 21 or 14 / 17) to adjust the temperature or cooking time. To scroll through the values quickly, press and hold down the respective symbol.

Rotating Function
Touch the symbol  (18) to switch the rotating function on / off. With the (rotary grilling) program, the rotating function is activated auto-matically.

Cooking Chamber Light
Touch the symbol (20) or open / close the door (4) to switch the cooking cham- ber light on / off. The cooking chamber light switches off automatically after around 60 seconds.

Standby Mode
When you touch the symbol   (19) for approx. 2 seconds, the control panel (1) is activated. If the device is not operating and no button is pressed for 60 seconds, the device switches to standby mode.

SET-UP AND CONNECTION

Please Note!

  • Check the device and the connecting cable for damage each time before putting it into operation. The device should only be used when it is undamaged and in working order.
  • Never place the device on a soft surface. The ventilation openings on the bottom of the device must not be covered.
  • Ensure there is sufficient clear space on all sides. Do not place the device below kitchen wall units or similar cupboards. The rising steam could cause damage to them!
  • Only connect the device to a plug socket that is properly installed and matches the technical data of the device. The plug socket must also be readily accessible after connection so that the connection to the mains can quickly be isolated.
  • Do not connect the device along with other consumers (with a high wattage) to a multiple socket to prevent overloading and a possible short circuit (fire).
  • Make sure that the connecting cable does not present a trip hazard. It should not hang down from the surface on which the device is placed to prevent the device from being pulled down.
  • Make sure that the connecting cable is not squashed, bent or laid over sharp edges and does not come into contact with hot surfaces.
  1. Place the device on the kitchen unit or another dry, clean, flat and heat-resistant work surface. Ensure there is sufficient clear space on all sides (at least 15 cm to the sides and 50 cm above).
  2. Fully unwind the connecting cable and plug the mains plug into a plug socket. The symbols on the control panel (1) light up briefly and a beep is heard. The symbol   (19) lights up constantly and the device is in standby mode.

USE

In general, you can use this device to prepare all dishes that can also be pre-pared in a conventional fan oven.

Please Note!

  • Do not use the device for longer than 60 minutes without a break. An exception is the (dehydrating) programme.
  • Do not leave the device switched on when it is empty (apart from “burning off” prior to first use).
  • Do not place food that is still wrapped in cling film or plastic bags in the device.
  • Make sure that the food does not come into contact with the heating elements.
  • Do not overfill the device so that the hot air can circulate optimally inside the cooking chamber.
  • Make sure that foodstuffs containing oil and fats are not overheated. They could ignite.
  • Always place the hot accessories down on a heat-resistant surface after use.
    • In the top section, the food is cooked faster and crispier. The middle position should be chosen to achieve even heating from all sides. The bottom rails are suitable for gentle cooking.
    • The cooking time is dependent on the size and quantity of the food and on the temperature. However, in general the cooking time is shorter than in a conventional oven. Start with a shorter cooking time and gradually increase it if required.
    • When preparing mass-produced frozen products, you should follow the times and temperatures specified by the manufacturer. Before the specified cooking time elapses, check whether the food is already cooked through.

Basic Use

  1. Make sure that the drip tray (6) has been inserted right at the bottom of the cooking chamber.
  2. Spread around the food by type on the baking mesh tray, place it in the rotating basket or on the rotating spit (see the “Accessories” chapter).
  3. Insert the accessory containing the food into the cooking chamber and close the door (4).
  4. Touch the symbol (19) for approx. 2 seconds to activate the device. All displays on the control panel (1) switch on. 185°C and 15 minutes are preset.
    • The door (4) of the device must be closed for settings to be made and buttons to be pressed.
  5. Either manually adjust the cooking time and temperature or select one of the 8 programmes (see the “ Programmes and Functions” chapter).
  6. Touch the symbol to start the cooking process. The heating control lamps (16) flash; if a programme is selected (15), the corresponding symbol also flashes. The set temperature and the remaining time are shown alternately on the display(11).
  7. If the rotating basket or rotating spit is used, touch the symbol (18) to start the rotating function. (Exception: programme – the rotating function is started automatically.)The heating control lamps go out as soon as the set temperature has been reached. Until you are properly familiar with the device, the condition of the food should be checked in between times to ensure that it does not burn.
  8. When the set time elapses, the device automatically switches to standby mode. The fan continues to run for a few more seconds.
  9. Open the door, remove the cooked food from the cooking chamber (3) and place it down on a heat-resistant surface. If the rotating basket or rotating spit is being used, use the removal tool (9) to remove it (see the “Accessories” chapter).
  10. Disconnect the device from the main power.
  11. Clean the used accessory after it has cooled down (see the “Cleaning and Storage” chapter).

Briefly Pausing the Cooking Process
If the cooking process is to be paused to turn the ingredients or add further ingredients, for example, open the door (4). The countdown of the cooking time is paused. It resumes once the door is closed.

  • If the cooking process is paused for more than approx. 13 minutes, the device automatically switches to standby mode. The display (11) shows OFF.

Ending the Cooking Process Prematurely
To end the cooking process before the set cooking time elapses, touch (19) for approx. 2 seconds until OFF appears on the display.

CLEANING AND STORAGE

Please Note!

  • Allow the device to cool down completely before cleaning it.
  • Never spray hot water onto the hot accessories to prevent material damage.
  • Do not use any sharp or abrasive cleaning agents or cleaning pads to clean the device. These may damage the surfaces.
    • The door (4) can be detached from the main unit for cleaning. To do this, open a gap in the door and pull it out. After cleaning, insert the completely dry door into its holders and close.
  1. Wipe down the outside of the main unit and the cooking chamber (3), the door (4) and the heating element with a clean, damp cloth if necessary. Do not clean in the dishwasher or immerse in water!
  2. Clean the used accessories with detergent and warm water or in the dishwasher. To maintain the quality of the parts for as long as possible, they should preferably be rinsed by hand. In the case of stubborn dirt, soak in warm water and detergent before-hand.
  3. Allow all parts to dry completely or dry them off.
  4. Store the device in a clean, dry place so that it is out of the reach of children and animals.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the device does not work properly, check whether you can rectify the problem yourself. If the problem cannot be solved with the steps that are listed, contact the customer service department.

  • Do not attempt to repair an electrical device yourself!

The device does not work.
The mains plug is not inserted in the plug socket correctly.

  • Correct the fit of the mains plug. The plug socket is defective.
  • Try another plug socket. The door (4) has not been closed correctly.
  • Close the door. The overheating protection has been triggered.
  • Pull the mains plug out of the plug socket and allow the device to cool down completely. Then try again.

The fuse in the fuse box is triggered.
Too many devices are connected to the same circuit.

  • Reduce the number of devices in the circuit.

E1 / E2 is shown on the display (11).
The device has a defect.

  • Contact the customer service department. The rotating basket (2) / rotating spit (7+8) drops out of the holder. The shaft (8) has not been inserted correctly.
  • Correct the fit of the shaft (see the “Accessories” chapter – “Inserting / Removing the Rotating Basket / Rotating Spit”).

The food has not been cooked evenly.
The cooking chamber (3) is too full.

  • Reduce the amount of food. The items of food are piled on top of one another.
  • Spread the food and mix it around from time to time if necessary. Different foods with different cooking times or temperatures have been prepared.
  • Prepare items of food with different cooking temperatures one after the other.
  • Place food with a longer cooking time in the device first, then add ingredients with a shorter cooking time later. The set cooking time was too short or the temperature too low.
  • Increase the cooking time or temperature.

Chips made from fresh potatoes are not crispy. The potatoes contain too much water.

  • Cut the potatoes into narrower pieces. Dab the potato pieces dry with some kitchen towel and then trickle a little cooking oil over them.

During use, an unpleasant smell is detected. /Smoke emerges from the device.

The device is dirty.

  • Follow the instructions in the “ Cleaning and Storage” chapter. Too much oil or fat.
  • Remove excess oil or fat. The device is being used for the first time.
  • A smell often develops when new devices are first used. The smell should disappear once the device has been used several times.

DISPOSAL

Dispose of the packaging material in an environmentally friendly manner so that it can be recycled. The adjacent symbol (crossed-out bin underlined) means that used devices should not be disposed of in the domestic waste, but should instead be taken to special collection and return systems. Owners of used devices from private households can take them free of charge to the collection points of the public waste disposal authorities or the disposal points which are set up by manufacturers and distributors under the Electrical Equipment Act so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally friendly way and valuable raw materials can be recovered. If they are not disposed of properly, toxic ingredients may escape into the environment and cause harm to the health of humans, animals and plants. Businesses that market electrical and electronic devices are also obliged to take back used devices.

Waste prevention makes an even more valuable contribution to protecting the environment. This means if possible, as well as continuing to use or repair a device yourself, passing it on to another user also represents an ecologically beneficial alternative to disposal.
