Lantern and Tether:

The Cairn XL lantern and power bank can be used as a sitting or hanging light source. The elastic tether can be wrapped around tree branches, hooks, hands, poles, etc. for secure and versatile lighting.
Mobile Charging:
The Cairn XL is ideal for recharging electronic devices such as mobile phones and GPS devices.
Battery Power:
The Cairn XL has a lithium-ion rechargeable battery as its built-in power supply. The LED battery indicator lights on the back of the Cairn XL indicate the level of battery life remaining (see image above).
Your battery life will be determined by these factors:
– Use of power bank function
– Light output
– Temperature
– Battery storage (if it is charged)
Additional lithium-ion battery information:
– Charge the battery completely before use.
– Battery does not need to be depleted before being recharged.
– Battery will automatically stop charging once full. – DO NOT plug the same cable into the “charge-out” and “charge-in” USB ports.

Charging Modes:

Charge-in mode — Open the waterproof (IP65) USB cover, plug the USB-C cable into the Cairn XL power bank, and the USB-A end into any powered USB port. Charging may take up to 5.5 hours.
Charge-out mode — Open the waterproof (IP65) USB cover, plug the USB-A cable end into the Cairn XL power bank, and the other end into any compatible device. The battery indicator LEDs will illuminate to show that the power bank is ready for charging out. The USB-C port can also be used for charging out. The charge-out mode will deactivate if no device is connected for a few seconds. The battery level LEDs will turn off.
Lighting Modes:
– On/Off — Press the light button once to turn on, and once to turn off.
– Brighten/Dim — When the lantern is turned on, press and hold to gradually increase the lantern to full brightness. When the lantern is at full brightness, continue holding to reset and dim the lantern, starting the cycle over again.
– Strobe — Rapidly press and release the power button three times to activate strobe mode.
Color Mode
-Color — Press and release the power button twice to activate the color mode.
-Color Cycling — When the lantern is turned on and in color mode, press and hold to gradually change the color. Release the button when the desired color is achieved.
Intelligent temperature control
– This safety feature automatically reduces brightness when the lantern exceeds acceptable temperature limits.

Trouble Shooting:

If the Cairn XL does not work:
– Charge the batteries completely

Light Functions
On/Off Press to turn the light on or off.
Dimming Slide up or down to increase or decrease light intensity.
Strobe Light flashes repeatedly until deactivated.
Color Control Press the color control button to initiate color mode. Once in color mode, swipe the color bar left or right to control light color in real- time.
Battery Indicator Indicated battery life in real-time.
Menu Functions
Sleep Timer Set a time for your Cairn XL to automatically turn on or off.
Proximity On/Off The Cairn XL will automatically turn off when outside of Bluetooth range and back on when in range.
Proximity Battery Save Cairn XL will dim when your device is closer and brighten when you’re farther away to extend battery life.
Find My Cairn Cairn XL will sound and flash while active.
Connected Cairn XLs This section shows the connected Cairn XL(s). Swipe left or right to control a specific connected Cairn XL or select ‘Control All’ to control all the connected Cairn XLs simultaneously.

7Using a paperclip or similar object, activate the Bluetooth pairing switch on the Cairn XL located next to the USB connectors.

Open the previously installed Cairn XL app and follow the on-screen instructions for Bluetooth control.

INSTRUCTIONS PERTAINING TO A RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY TO PERSONS

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING — When using products, additional precautions, and basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:
WARNING — Read all safety warnings and instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
a) To reduce the risk of injury, close supervision is necessary when a product is used near children.
b) Do not contact hot parts.
c) Only use attachments recommended or sold by the manufacturer.
d) To reduce the risk of electrical shock, do not put the product in water or other liquid. Do not place or store product where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
e) Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
f) Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts the eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
g) Do not use an appliance that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion, or risk of injury.
h) Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the appliance outside of the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside of the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.
i) Do not modify or attempt to repair the appliance except as indicated in the instructions for use and care.
j) Read all the instructions before using the product.
k) Do not put fingers or hands into the product.
I) Do not expose the product to snow.
m) Do not expose the product to rain for more than 3 minutes.
n) Use of a power supply or charger not recommended or sold by a power pack manufacturer may result in a risk of fire or injury to persons.
o) Do not use the product in excess of its output rating. Overload outputs above rating may result in a risk of fire or injury to persons.
p) Do not disassemble the product. Take it to a qualified service person when service or repair is required. Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of fire or injury to persons.
q) Do not expose a product to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 100°C may cause an explosion. The temperature of 100°C can be replaced by a temperature of 212°F.
r) Have servicing performed by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the product is maintained.
s) Switch off the product when not in use.
t) Use only with Listed/Certified Information Technology (Computer) Equipment or ITE power supply or Class 2 Power Unit.
