  • The PUMP XL comes fully assembled. Attach the required adapters based on the situation. If adapters are difficult to attach, soak them in warm water for a few minutes.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• Before using the device, always check it is in good working order. When in doubt of its state, please contact us or a professional.
• Seal all openings that may overflow before using the device to avoid spillovers and messes. For this, you could use a towel, etc.
• Please check if all to-be-cleaned pipes are in a perfect state and able to stand the pressure. If not, we advise against using the device.
• Do not use any alcohol, benzine or cleaning substances. These could damage the device.
• Do not use any adapters besides the ones provided with the device.
• Never dismantle the pump.
• Drainages or sewers can contain poisonous, caustic or infectious substances or chemicals. Make sure to wear protective clothing and do not drink or smoke whilst using the device.
• After using the device, please wash your hands and all body parts that might have been exposed to chemicals or bacteria. Afterwards, thoroughly clean the device with warm water.

ASSEMBLY AND PREPARATION OF THE ADAPTERS

• ASSEMBLY
  • The PUMP XL will be delivered already fully assembled.
  • The only thing you have to do is attach the required adapters depending on the situation.
  • In case you find attaching the adapters difficult, we recommend leaving the adapters in warm water for a few minutes.
  • The inclined end of the adapter is meant to face the drain. The straight side attaches to the outlet nozzle.

PREPARATION

Before starting to use the device, pick a suitable extension for the drain you would like to work on, and attach it at the front of the outlet nozzle.

• Outer diameter: 95mm

• Large adapter: Suitable for toilets and outlets that are difficult to access
• Outer diameter: 95mm
• Inner diameter: 70mm
• Length: 20cm

For optimal pressure and results, make sure that all pipes and drains are filled with water. Close the drain and fill the basin with 5 to 8 cm of water. You may use a towel or something similar to seal the outlets.

• Attention: Please ensure the siphon is supported to avoid damage. You may use a bucket or box for this.

APPLICATION

1. Seal any spillover, if necessary.
2. Select and attach the suitable rubber adapter first. The small adapter is meant for easily accessible drains (sink, shower), and the large one is for drains with difficult accessibility (toilets, etc.).
3. Please be aware that there are two different manners to dissolve a blockage. Before you start, ensure that there is enough water in the drain and basin (sink, shower) that needs to be cleaned.
4. Usually, the cause for the blockage sits just at the beginning of the drain. In this case, we recommend you attach the adapter flush with the drain and abruptly pull the handle up. This handling solves most blockages.
5. If you are not satisfied with the result, repeat step 3.1 in combination with pushing down abruptly. This enables you to remove the blockage upwards as well as downwards. The downward-push-motion tears the blockage apart (see illustration) and pushes it right into the sewer. This handling of the blockage is quick. Within minutes, the blockage will be a thing of the past.
6. Afterwards, we recommend you rinse the pump and the adapter with warm water. Doing this properly guarantees a long life span of the pump and reliable future results.
   • Important: Please loosen the adjustable handle after each use! Otherwise, the handle will exert high pressure on the pipe over time possibly causing it to break.

Maintenance

• Grease the rubber seal occasionally once the sliding mechanism becomes harder. We advise you to use silicone spray as other types of grease could damage the seal.

Cleaning

• Use a clean and moist towel to clean the device. Do not use any detergents, alcohol, or benzine as they might damage the device or produce hazardous vapours. Protect the device from sunlight and dampness.

Recycling

• Unusable devices can be recycled at a recycling centre. Please do not throw it away with regular waste. Please also recycle the packaging per the material and local policies.

WARRANTY STATEMENT

Conditions for our “3-Year Warranty”

• (Applies to products of the brand “Werkstein” with product identification “WS-Pump XL” regardless of how the goods were acquired)
• The company Werkstein, owner Matthias Ok, Tückelhäuser Str. 11d, 97199 Ochsenfurt, Germany, grants the consumer a time-limited warranty for the products it manufactures under the following conditions and to the extent described below.
• The granted manufacturer’s warranty applies without prejudice to mandatory legal liability provisions, such as product liability law, in cases of intent and gross negligence, due to injury to life, body, or health by the company or its agents.
• A consumer within the meaning of this manufacturer’s warranty is any natural person who owns the product and has not acquired it to resell it privately or to sell it to third parties as part of their commercial or independent professional activities.

Warranty Scope

• The warranty conditions apply exclusively within the Federal Republic of Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and the European Union. The warranty applies to all products purchased on or after July 1, 2023 (purchase receipt). Claims under product liability exist only by legal provisions. Within the scope of this warranty, defects will be remedied that are demonstrably due to a material defect.
• For all products, a warranty period of 3 years applies from the date of purchase of a product. If the product is already defective upon delivery in unused condition, this must be reported immediately upon receipt of the goods to our support team. We will then arrange the delivery of a replacement.
• Regardless of your statutory right of withdrawal, we guarantee the promised quality and functionality of your purchased goods. Should the goods not function as advertised despite regular and appropriate use, we will repair them or exchange them for new goods free of charge within the specified warranty period.
• The deadline for the warranty begins on the day on which you or a third party named by you, who is not the carrier, have taken possession of all related parcels. For the observance of the deadline, the timely dispatch of the goods is sufficient.
• Please return the goods to the following address: WERKSTEIN, Matthias Ok, Floßhafenstr. 30, 97199 Ochsenfurt, Germany.
• The return of the goods is at your risk.
• The goods do not have to be in their original packaging.
• The return costs of the goods are borne by the buyer.
• Under the aforementioned conditions, we will send you a new item immediately and at the latest within 14 days from the day on which the goods have arrived at our site.
• The manufacturer’s warranty neither limits your statutory right of withdrawal nor any rights you may have due to defects

Documentation Requirement

• A warranty claim only exists if the customer attaches clear photos to the application and specifies an order number. Clarity in this context means the clear visibility of the WERKSTEIN logo and the defect.

Note on the warranty promise § 477 BGB according to German law

• Completely independent of this manufacturer’s warranty and whether the prescribed warranty is claimed in the warranty case or not, the statutory warranty claims of the consumer against the respective seller exist unrestrictedly.
• At your own free choice, therefore, without asserting the warranty claims, the legally regulated buyer’s rights due to defects in the purchased item, in particular subsequent performance, withdrawal, reduction of the purchase price or damages (see § 437 BGB) and the corresponding separate limitation periods in § 438 BGB can be asserted against the seller.
• The warranty applies without prejudice to mandatory legal liability provisions.

Liability

• The warranty statement does not entitle you to compensation for consequential damages of any kind or other claims for damages. Excluded from this restriction are mandatory legal provisions according to which the manufacturer is liable outside this voluntary warranty statement.

Exclusion Period Limitation

• Claims under the warranty must be asserted immediately, but at the latest 2 months after becoming aware of an error. After the expiry of this period, the assertion of rights under the warranty is excluded. Claims under the warranty become statute-barred after the expiry of 36 months from the end of the warranty period.
