TO DISMANTLE, ASSEMBLE AND USE YOUR FRYER
To dismantle
- Lift lid off.
- Remove the basket.
To assemble and use
- If the heating unit is not properly placed, the safety switch can not be pressed, and the appliance will not operate.
- Connect the plug to the mains and a green light will turn on the heating unit. This will remain on while the appliance is connected to the mains.
- Select the frying temperature by turning the knob clockwise. A red light will turn on in the heating unit. Make sure that the cover is not on.
- After a few minutes of heating, the red light will turn off, signalling that the basket can be inserted with the food to fry. Be extremely careful: dangerous splashes of oil may fly out.
- WARNING: If frying a large amount of food, the oil temperature will drop, so you should wait longer. When frying pre-fried frozen products, we recommend using small quantities.
- Once the food is cooked, place the basket so that the excess oil can fall back into the container. 7.- After having used it, make sure to place the control knob in the OFF position, turning the red light off. The green light will remain lit if the appliance is not unplugged.
- Pour in the oil. The level must be between the ‘MAX’ and ‘MIN’ marks.
- Do re-use oil, allow to cool then pour the oil through fine muslin or absorbent paper.
- Always unplug the fryer after use.
Hints
- Pre –cooked food needs a higher temperature than raw food.
- Cook food thoroughly. The outside may look ready before the inside is cooked.
- Keep your fryer with oil (cooled and strained) inside it, ready for use. The lid keeps the dust out.
- Before frying battered food, drain off excess batter.
- To make chips, cut the potatoes up evenly, so they cook evenly. Rinse and dry before cooking.
- To prolong the life of your fryer, filter the oil after each use and change it after 8-10 uses.
CARE AND CLEANING
The electric fryer does not require special maintenance, but the following precautions should be taken:
-
Do not leave the appliance running unsupervised; the oil will decrease and heating the resistor and sensor without oil may render them inoperative for future uses.
-
Oil may spontaneously catch fire if the temperature surpasses 300ºC, so you should never leave it running at maximum temperature.
-
When using more than one fryer, make sure that there is enough space between them to circulate hot air, since they may deform due to the heat.
-
Only use the original baskets; forcing the basket into the oil container may create a risk upon removing it when finished.
-
If you do not use the fryer for long periods of time, we recommend applying a thin layer of oil over the complete surface, even on the resistor and sensor.
-
Do not use margarine, butter or lard. They are not suitable for frying since they emit smoke at low temperatures.
-
If overheated, the safety system turns the device off. In order to restart it, unplug the unit and wait until it cools. Once cooled, re-plug it in and press the “RESTART” button on the back of the heating unit. To do so you will need a thin and long tool.
- Never start cleaning until the oil has cooled down.
- Always unplug the fryer before cleaning.
- Pour the oil out of the bowl using the pouring lip on the rim of the bowl.
-
Fryer body/fixed bowl
- Fryer outer body – wipe with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Never put it in water.
- Inner bowl – after each use, fill with hot soapy water and soak for 20 minutes. Then use a non-abrasive cleaner.
-
