Technical specifications
Assembly
Insert the output shaft (Fig. 1, A) into the seat of the drill (Fig. 1, D) and secure it with the corresponding piston pin (Fig. 1, B, C).
Warning! Do not change the gear ratio of the reduction gear. The characteristics of the machine could change and unforeseen reactions could occur.
Working instructions
Warning! Always follow the safety instructions. The auger must not be attached to fixed supports. It is forbidden to use tools or applications other than those specified by the manufacturer on the PTO shaft of the earth drill.
Getting started
Fuel mixing ratio
Use a 2 % or 4 % (1:25 or 1:50) petrol/oil mixture (Fig.3, 4). Only use a 1:25 (oil:petrol) mix ratio 20 hours before the machine runs.
Warning: Two-stroke engines are designed to operate with normal petrol. Therefore, make sure to only use normal petrol and premium grade petrol with a minimum octane rating of 90 and oil specifically designed for two-stroke engines. Mix the two liquids before pouring them into the motor and ensure that the liquids have intermixed with each other before carefully inserting the fuel into the motor (Fig. 5).
Never fill the fuel tank while the motor is operating and instead ensure that the motor has been turned off before placing the device on an even ground to prevent two-stroke mixture from spilling in the process.
Important! When storing the device, make sure that the fuel has been drained completely. Do not use the device if fuel should be leaking.
Starting the motor
- Bring the switch located on top of the control handle (Fig. 8, G) into the “Start” position.
- Next press both the security switch (Fig. 8, G) and throttle lever (Fig. 8 K). Lock them in place by pressing the interlock (Fig. 8, H).
- Once the interlock (Fig. 8, J) has been used, let go off the security switch (Fig. 8, K) and throttle lever (Fig. 11, M).
- Set the inductor switch (Fig. 7, F) to “Close.”
- Repeatedly press the primer (Fig. 6, E) to pump fuel into the system.
- Repeatedly pull the rope start until the motor starts running.
- Set the inductor switch (Fig. 10, F) back to the “Open” position.
- Once the motor is operating, press the throttle lever (Fig. 8, K) to unlock the interlock (Fig. 8, H) and allow the device to run in idle mode.
Notes : Do not use the inductor if the engine is already warm. The inductor is only used to perform cold starts. Also, the auger must not rotate while the motor is operating in idle mode.
Warning note : The motor must be stopped immediately if the auger should deform or break.
Note : When using the rope start:
- Do not let the rope rebound.
- Do not pull the rope as far as it will go, since this will damage the rope start.
- Always let the rope slide back slowly to allow it to roll up properly.
Switching off the motor
- Place the throttle lever (Fig. 8, K) in idle position and let the device run in idle mode for 2–3 min to allow the motor to cool down.
- Turn the motor off by setting the switch (Fig. 8, G) to “stop.”
- Remove the auger from the device and clean both.
Important : Do not jerk the device to halt while it is running with full load as this might damage the device.
Maintenance
Air filter
The air filter should be cleaned after every 25 hours of operation. For the air filter (Fig. 11, M) to be cleaned, the air filter casing (Fig. 11, N) must be removed. Use petrol to clean the filter and let it dry.
Carburetor
The screw (Fig. 12, Q) must be adjusted so that the engine responds immediately to strong accelerations and provides good idling operation and maximum power during the cutting phase. The idling screw (Fig. 12, P) is adjusted to ensure a good safety margin between idling speed and engagement.
Important! The function of the carburetor can be influenced by weather conditions and altitude
Petrol filter
Make sure to regularly check the petrol filter (Fig. 13, R) and replace it immediately in case of its being heavily polluted. A polluted petrol filter may cause issues while starting the device as well as a loss of performance.
Motor
Make sure to regularly clean the cylinder fins with air pressure or a brush. Polluted cylinder fins severely affect the internal cooling system of the motor and might damage it.
Spark plug
Remove the spark plug wire and unscrew the spark plug. Clean both the spark plug and spark plug wire if dirt has accumulated. Sand the electrode with sandpaper and set the distance of the electrode to 0.6–0.7 mm (Fig. 14, S).
Auger
Check the condition of the auger before every use and sharpen or replace it if
necessary. Always make sure to choose the auger according to the requirements
of the task at hand (Fig. 15).
In addition, check the cutting blades (Fig. 16, W, X) regularly and have them
replaced if necessary.
Reduction gear
If used normally, the valve cap (Fig. 17, Y) must be checked and cleaned after every 50 hours of operation. Every 100 hours of operation, the gear grease must be exchanged (Fig. 17, 180 g).
Storage
- Always perform maintenance in accordance with the previously stated maintenance steps.
- If the ground drill should be stored for longer periods of time, make sure to clean it thoroughly and to grease all metal parts to prevent corrosion.
- Remove the auger from the device and clean and lubricate both components to prevent rust.
- Completely drain the fuel from the device and properly attach the tank cap once the procedure of draining has been completed.
- Remove the spark plug (Fig. 18, S) and insert some oil into the cylinder.
- Pull the rope start a few times after applying oil and rotate the crankshaft to distribute the oil.
- Reinsert the spark plug (Fig. 18, S).
- To protect the device from dust and other forms of pollution, wrap it into a plastic bag or foil.
- Store the ground drill within a dry environment inaccessible to children. Make thereby sure that it is stored with a sufficient distance to the ground and potential heat sources.
