WALL AND MASONRY MEASUREMENT MODE INTERPRETATION
In the WALL or MASONRY measurement mode, the reading of the instrument is only
a relative indication of the humidity inside the measured material. This mode
is applicable to quickly check the relative humidity level of walls and floors
to determine whether it is necessary to conduct in-depth investigation on
suspicious areas, such as bathrooms with tiles or walls with wallpaper.
Other conductors inside the wall, such as steel bars, wires, etc., may greatly
affect the reading of the WALL or MASONRY measurement mode (For example, when
in an area with steel bars, the reading will suddenly increase). Please pay
attention to distinguish these interference factors during measurement and
construction.
INSTALLING BATTERY
Open the battery cover, insert 3 x AAA batteries, matching the correct
positive(+) and negative(-) terminals. Low battery indication:
The low battery indication will display when the battery level is low, please
replace them accordingly.
OPERATION INSTRUCTION
-
Turning on/off the meter
Press the POWER button to tum on the instrument, the device enter its measurement status and the screen will display moisture value in previous setting. Press and hold POWER button for about 2 seconds to turn off the instrument. -
Alert value setting
After turning on the instrument, press the SET button to enter the interface of setting alert value. A digit will blink on the screen. Press the SET button or HOLD button to adjust the position of the blinking digit. Press the DENSITY button to adjust and increase the value of blinking digit. Press the MODE button to adjust and decrease the value of blinking digit. Once the setting is completed, then hold the HOLD button to confirm the setting. You can cancel the setting by holding the SET button for 2 seconds. When the value reaches or exceeds the set alarm value during measurement, there will an alarm sound. -
Selecting the measuring mode
After turning on the instrument, press MODE button to switch the measuring mode among wall, masonry, softwood and hardwood. The name of the measuring materials appears on the display accordingly. -
Selecting desired density grades of the wood
After turning on the instrument, select the mode softwood, then press the DENSITY button to switch the wood density from 1 ~9 grades, refer to the TABLE OF WOOD ABSOLUTE DRY DENSITY .”M1″-“M9” appears on the display accordingly. -
Measurement
After turning on the instrument, select the mode and density grade (if available). When measuring, make sure that the sensor board touches the object to be measured(keep your hand on the device while measuring).Moisture value and bar graph will display on the screen. -
Moisture value hold function
After turning on the instrument, under the measuring mode interface, press the HOLD button to lock the current moisture measurement value. “HOLD” icon appears on the display accordingly. -
The display of moisture content column
When measuring, the moisture content column displays in three colors: green, yellow, and red, Indicating the relative dry and wet state of the measured object. See below:

ANHANG2
NOTED: If the measured wood is not included in the table of wood absolute dry
density, you need to calculate the density by using the following methods:
EXAMPLE
If the wood is 100cm(Length), 12cm(Width), 2.5cm(Height), then its volume is
3000 cubic cm. The measured weight of the timber is 1510g, its moisture
content ratio is 12% (Get the data by oven drying method), and then the wood
absolute dry density is:
POINTS FOR ATTENTION
- Keep the device away from water or any corrosive liquid to avoid damage.
- Keep the device away from any electrified object to avoid damage.
- This device will be influenced by the electric field.
Do not make measurements in the vicinity of any electric wire whenever possible.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION
Why do the measurement results of moisture meters differ from different manufactures and different types? Different tree types different temperatures and wood from different regions influence electric parameters to a great extent, and most of the miniature meters can not offer corrections on tree type and humidity. Instead, they can only be based on a certain tree type and humidity. Different bases of different meters will certainly lead to difference in measurement results.
