Product description
- This product is an item of personal protective equipment (PPE). The products are intended to be used during operation with chainsaw.
- The products have different safety classes classified by the material used in the protective material. The applicable safety class is marked on the label of the product. The protective material can be made out of different materials such as fiber material that can tear into the chain. The higher the class the better the protective function. Use the type of personal protective equipment that is correct for the type of work and the work environment. Ask your dealer for help to choose the right product. (Fig. 2)

General safety instructions
- WARNING: Read the Operator’s Manual carefully and make sure you understand the instructions before you use the product.
- WARNING: No PPE can offer full protection against injury. PPE will decrease the degree of injury if an accident does occur.
- Use of this product does not decrease the need for safe operation of the chainsaw.
- Carefully read all safety instructions applicable to your chainsaw.
- When the product is new, the soles can be slippery before the outer layer has become rugged. Be careful when you wear new safety boots.
The penetration resistance of this footwear has been measured in the laboratory using a truncated nail of diameter 4,5 mm and a force of 1 100 N. Higher forces of nails of smaller diameter will increase the risk of penetration occurring. In such circumstances alternative preventative measures should be considered.
- Do not use non-approved accessories on the product. Accessories can decrease the protective capabilities.
- Make sure that the saw protection of the protective clothes overlaps the saw protection of the safety boot.
- For best performance and safety, do maintenance on the product regularly. Refer to To do maintenance on the product on page 4.
- Clean the product immediately in case it has been subjected to petrol, oil, grease or other flammable materials. Fire hazard!
- Make sure that the product is not damaged and there are no other defects, such as cracks. The product should be scrapped and not used again if the protective material has been damaged, incorrectly cleaned or altered from its original shape. The protective qualities may be reduced in these cases.
- Keep the product away from sharp objects, acids, oils, solvents, fuels and animal droppings.
- The heat resistance of the outsole (PU) is 120°C.
- The product is supplied and tested with insoles. If the insole is to be replaced, always use original spare parts.
- If you feel uncertain after reading these instructions, speak to your Husqvarna dealer before continuing.
Maintenance
To do maintenance on the product
- The service life of the product varies with the type of use. The service life depends fully on the condition of the product. To achieve maximum service life, the product must be maintained and kept in storage correctly.
- Clean the product with damp cloth or sponge. Do not use polishing or corroding cleaning agents.
- When the product is wet, air dry slowly and away from heat sources such as radiators or direct sunlight.
- Impregnate the safety shoe regularly. Use wax or silicone based shoe care product or dubbin.
- In the event of a repair being carried out to the outer material, do not sew into the protective material since this can reduce the protective qualities. Adhesive must not be used when carrying out repairs as it may affect the protective material and decrease its protective qualities.
- Store the product on a level surface, standing up in a dark and dry area.
Disposal
- Obey national regulations.
- Use the local recycling system.
Service life of the product
- The service life of the product varies with the type of use. In professional logging the maximum service life of the product is 1 year. The maximum service life of the product is 5 years. Maximum service life can only be achieved if the product is used occasionally and non-professionally. To achieve maximum service life, the product must be kept in storage correctly.
- The product must be discarded after a maximum of 5 years of use.
- The actual service life depends fully on the condition of the product.
- Extreme conditions during operation can shorten the service life to a single use only. If the product is damaged before its first use, for example during transportation, it must be discarded immediately and not used.
CAUTION: Dispose the product and do not use it again if the product:
- has been damaged.
- has been washed incorrectly.
- has been altered from its original shape.
