Product description
The product is a carabiner, used to connect equipment components.
Intended use
This product is used together with personal fall protection systems. Use
the product as a connector class B or as an end connector class T.

Safety instructions
WARNING: Read the operator’s manual carefully and make sure you understand the instructions before you use the product.
- The product is intended for standard use and emergency use. The operator must have good medical health and necessary knowledge and experience. The operator must receive special training before use of this product.
- You must always have an emergency procedure while you use this fall protection system. You must make sure that you can quickly do the emergency procedure if a problem occurs.
- Do not use the equipment for other tasks than for which it is intended.
- A connector must be compatible with the equipment to which it is attached. If the connector is not compatible, it can accidentally disconnect, break or decrease the safety of other parts of the equipment. You must make sure that this equipment is applicable for the operation. You must obey governmental regulations and other standards on occupational safety.
- Do not connect carabiners to each other or to spring hooks.
- This product may be used in conjunction with any appropriate item of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) conforming to the EU regulation 2016/425.
- When attached to rated component of the harness, the carabiner gate must be fully closed and engaged into the latch of the carabiner.
- Be careful and use the product correctly.
- Only apply load to the product as given in this manual. Do not apply more load to the product than its strength rated value as given in this manual. For product to remain in service it must pass inspection and not be exposed to the following hazards: fall arrest, general wear including abrasion, trailing or looping of lanyards or lifelines over sharp edges, chemical contamination, corrosion, mechanical malfunction, cracks, loose strands of wire, exposure to extreme temperatures, and electrical conductivity.
- Do not use a defective product. Do the safety checks and maintenance given in this manual.
- The product must always be used with the gate mechanism closed and locked.
- Connectors with self-closing and manual locking gates should only be used where the user does not have to attach and remove the connector frequently.
- Do not let ropes or other objects rub against the sleeve of the lock mechanism. It can accidentally be unlocked.
- Do not remove symbols or labels from the product.
- The product must be used by 1 person only.
- Only 1 personal protective system must be attached to the product.
- Do not use the product if changes in applicable standards or regulations prevent it.
- Work done at height is dangerous and falls can cause injury or death.
- Make sure that the connector is attached to an approved and rated component of the harness.
To do a check of the product

Do full checks of the product regularly.

Do a check of the product before and after each operation. The safety of the user depends upon the continued efficiency and durability of the product.

Make sure that the product is not worn or damaged. Make sure that the gate mechanism operates correctly and that it closes and locks automatically when released.

Make sure that the key lock slot is not blocked.

Make sure that the product is compatible with all other system components.

Make sure that the product markings are legible.
To open and close the gate mechanism

- Close and lock the gate mechanism in the opposite sequence.
To apply load correctly to the product
- Only apply load to the product along the long axis. All other positions decreases its strength. (Fig. 7)(Fig. 8)
- Do not apply load to the product along the short axis. Do not apply load to the product across the lock mechanism. (Fig. 9)
- Do not apply load to the product across a structure or an edge. (Fig. 10)
- Do not connect the product to other carabiners or to spring hooks. (Fig. 11)
- Connection to webbing or other alternative anchors can decrease the connector strength.
To do maintenance on the product
- Clean the product regularly. Use a soft cloth with water and soap.
- Remove light surface corrosion with a wire brush.
- Lubricate the gate mechanism with silicone lubricant or dry graphite.
- In addition to inspection, before, during and after each use, a detailed inspection by a competent inspector must be done at least every 12 months or more frequently depending on amount of and type of use, local legislation and environmental conditions. The inspection must be recorded in the inspection record. Safety of users depends on the continued efficiency and durability of the equipment.
- Do not repair or do modifications to the product.
- The instructions and the inspection record must be supplied in the language of the country where the product is used.
To replace the product
- WARNING: The type, intensity and environment of an operation can make it necessary to replace a product after only 1 operation. Examples of causes: Harsh environments, marine environment, sharp edges, chemicals and very high or low temperatures.
Replace the product in these situations:
- Defects are found in an inspection before, during or after use, or in a regularly done full inspection. The product was in a fall or too much load was applied.
- The product was used incorrectly, damaged, exposed to harmful chemicals or modifications were done.
- You are not sure if the product is defective or not.
- Make the replaced product unserviceable to make sure that it cannot be used.
Anchorage requirements
The anchor device for the fall protection system must be in a correct position. The recommended position is above the operator’s position and must comply with the requirements of the EN 795 standard (12 kN minimum strength).

It is the responsibility of the operator that this product, the anchor device and other equipment are applicable for the operation. You must obey all applicable standards.

The anchorage point of the fall arrest system should be above the position of the user and conform to the applicable standard. Clearance under the anchorage point is crucial for safe fall arrest and this must be sufficient to prevent striking an obstacle in case of a fall.

The length of the connector can have an effect on the height of the fall.

A fall protection harness is the only device that is accepted for support of the body in fall protection systems.
Lifespan
- Unlimited for metal products but could be reduced depending on conditions and frequency of use, this may be as little as one use.
- Husqvarna warrants this product for 3 years against any defects in materials or manufacturing defects. The warranty does not cover product from normal wear through usage, incorrect storage or maintenance, accidental damage, negligence, modifications or alternations, corrosion, or for any usage which the product was not designed for.
