Product Information

Description: The C9 BULB CONTROLLER allows wireless control of holiday lighting. Maximum capacity is 432 watts, equivalent to approximately 10 incandescent or 62 LED 100-count light strings.

Installation

  1. Note: Check light strings for missing/faulty bulbs before assembly.
  2. Concept: Plug the unit into a GFCI outlet, and use the remote to control the lights.
  3. Capacity: Ensure the total wattage of lights plugged in does not exceed 432 watts.

User Servicing Instructions

If connecting to a light string without a wattage rating, calculate wattage by multiplying current (A) by 120V. Example: 0.2 Amps x 120 = 24 Watts. Do not exceed 432 Watts in total.

Operation

  1. Plug the control box into the GFCI outlet, and connect holiday lighting.
  2. Install 2 AAA batteries in a remote unit.
  3. Place remote unit up to 50 ft away from lights.
  4. Press the red bulb on the remote to activate the lights. Press again to turn it off.

Q: Can I use the C9 BULB CONTROLLER outdoors?

A: Only if the product is marked suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Ensure it is connected to a GFCI outlet.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When using electrical products, basic precautions should always be followed including the following:

  1. READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.

  11. Do not close doors or windows on the product or extension cords as this may damage the wire insulation.
  12. Do not cover the product with cloth, paper or any material not part of the product when in use.
  13. This product has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) as a feature to reduce the risk of electric shock. This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not use with an extension cord unless plug can be fully inserted. Do not alter or replace the plug.
  14. This product employs overload protection (fuse). A blown fuse indicates an overload or short-circuit situation. If the fuse blows, unplug the product from the outlet. Also unplug any additional string or products that may be attached to the product. Replace the fuse as per the user servicing instructions (follow product marking for proper fuse rating) and check the product. If the replacement fuse blows, a short-circuit may be present and the product should be discarded.
  15. Read and follow all instructions that are on the product or provided with the product

USE AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  1. When the product is placed on a live tree, the tree should be well-maintained and fresh. Do not place on live trees in which the needles are brown or break off easily. Keep the tree holder filled with water.
  2. If the product is placed on a tree, the tree should be well-secured and stable.
  3. Before using or reusing, inspect the product carefully. Discard any products that have cut, damaged, or frayed wire insulation or cords, crack in the lamp holders or enclosures, loose connections, or exposed copper wire.
  4. When storing the product, carefully remove the product from wherever it is placed, including trees, branches, or bushes, to avoid any undue strain or stress on the product conductors, connections, and wires.
  5. When not to use, store neatly in a cool, dry location protected from sunlight.

DESCRIPTION

Thank you for purchasing the C9 BULB CONTROLLER. Switching the remote unit to ON/OFF will turn your holiday lighting on or off wirelessly. The maximum capacity is 432 watts or approximately 10 incandescent or 62 LED 100 count light strings.
WARNING: DO NOT CONNECT LIGHT STRINGS OR SETS IN EXCESS OF THE ABOVE CAPACITY.

INSTALLATION

Note: If you have not yet assembled your lighting, it may be useful to check your light strings before assembly to identify missing/faulty bulbs.

BEFORE INSTALLING: Consider how to best set-up your light show…

  • The Concept
    • Your C9 BULB CONTROLLER will allow you to control your holiday lighting. Plug the unit into a GFCI-equipped outlet and use the remote unit to control the light strings ON/OFF.
  • Capacity
    • The C9 BULB CONTROLLER has a capacity of 432 Watts. Please refer to the packaging, instruction manual or warning tags on your holiday lighting for the exact wattage of each item being plugged into the unit. In order not to exceed the 432 watts, you must add up the wattage of each item being plugged into the unit to attain the total wattage. Example: approx. 10 incandescent or 62 LED 100 CT light strings = 432 watts.

USER SERVICING INSTRUCTIONS

If connecting to a lighting string that does not have a Wattage (W) rating, calculate the wattage as follows: Multiply the current (__ A) which is on the flag-type tag by 120.
For Example: The lighting string is rated 120V, 60Hz, 0.2 Amps. 0.2 X 120 = 24 Watts Add the wattage of each light string together for a total of 432 Watts or less. (Do not exceed 432 Watts)

OPERATION

Plug the control box into a GFCI-equipped outlet and your holiday lighting into the outlet provided on the control box. Install 2 AAA batteries in the remote unit. Place the remote unit up to 50 ft from your holiday lighting. Turn it on. By pressing the red bulb, it plays sound effects, lights up the red bulb and your holiday lighting plugged into the control box turns on. Press the red bulb again to turn the lighting connected to the control box to “OFF”.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Your CANDY CANE CONTROLLER has been designed to give many seasons of trouble- free operation. In the event a problem does occur, please refer to the following chart for suggested solutions.

BATTERY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Do not dispose batteries in fire. Batteries may explode or leak.
  2. Do not mix old and new batteries.
  3. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
  4. Replace batteries of the same brand.
  5. Failure to insert batteries in the correct polarity, as indicated in the battery compartment, may shorten the life of the batteries or cause batteries to leak.
  6. Remove fully discharged batteries immediately.
  7. Remove all the batteries for storage of the unit to avoid battery leakage.
  8. Batteries should be recycled or disposed of as per state and local guidelines.
