Instructions for use

Product description

Peha-haft® / Peha-haft® color is a cohesive conforming bandage for the retention of primary and secondary dressings (such as splints, casts, catheters and cannulas), particularly on joints or conical parts of the body. It is used to stabilize muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints for slight immobilization and support. Peha-haft® / Peha-haft® color may be used by lay persons and health professionals on intact skin in clinical and home environments and is intended for single use only.

Indications

Peha-haft® / Peha-haft® color is a cohesive conforming bandage that may be used in medical interventions when acute and chronic wounds need to be treated short or long term or when slight immobilization is needed in combination with medical devices. It is suitable for fixating.

  • primary and secondary dressings
  • cannulae, catheters, tubes and similar medical devices
  • splints, casts and similar medical devices

Instructions for application

To fixate primary and secondary dressings,

  • select the right width suitable for the body part concerned, and
  • apply the Peha-haft® / Peha-haft® color bandages carefully over the primary dressing.

Composition

Peha-haft®: 43 % viscose, 37 % cotton, 20 % polyamide
Peha-haft® color: 31% viscose, 40 % cotton, 29 % polyamide

Dressing retention on the hand

  1. Apply the wound dressing. Unroll approx. 10 – 15cmof Peha-haft®.

  2. Wrap Peha-haft® over the dressing and once around the hand without tension and creases.

  3. Secure Peha-haft® without tension to the right of the thumb.

  4. Without tension, wrap Peha-haft® over the back of the hand to the left of the thumb.

  5. After 2 – 3 layers cut off Peha-haft® and press on.

Dressing retention on the head

  1. Apply the wound dressing with Peha-haft®.

  2. Unroll approx. 15cm of Peha-haft® from the bandage reel.

  3. Apply Peha-haft® around the head with slight tension and without creases.

  4. After 2- 3 layers cut off Peha-haft® and press on slightly

Dressing retention on the elbow

  1. Bend the elbow slightly. Apply the wound dressing. Unroll approx. 10 – 15 cm of Peha-haft®.

  2. Apply Peha-haft® without tension and creases centrally over the dressing and mould once around the elbow.

  3. When unrolling, hold the bandage on the skin to prevent constrictions.

  4. After 2 – 3 layers, cut off Peha-haft® and press on. When in place, the bandage should project approx. 2 – 3 cm from the edge of the wound dressing.

Dressing retention on the knee

  1. Bend the knee slightly. Apply the wound dressing. Unroll approx. 15 – 20 cm of Peha-haft®.

  2. Secure the lower edge of the wound dressing with 1 – 2 turns.

  3. Wrap Peha-haft without tension and creases upwards over the hollow of the knee.

  4. Apply two circular turns above the wound dressing. End the last turn on the kneecap.

  5. To fixate the bandage, unroll a piece, cut it off and press it on slightly.

Dressing retention on toes or fingers

  1. Apply the wound dressing and unroll 5 – 10 cm of Peha-haft®.

  2. Wrap Peha-haft®  around the toe or finger once or twice, without tension and creases.

  3. To prevent constrictions, hold the bandage close to   the skin, with the reel facing upwards.

  4. After a few layers cut off Paha-haft® and press it on.

  5. To completely cover the toe or finger, moulid the bandage for a good fit.
