Baseboard Trimming and Fitting
On a clear area of floor lay the baseboards C on to the upturned shower tray with the baseboard containing the waste hole B orientated to located with waste outlet on the tray by cutting baseboards B or C as required.
Note! The size and position of the waste outlet will vary to that illustrated depending on the type and shape of shower tray used.
Note! The Baseboard system may be used on a wide number of different types, sizes and shapes of shower trays in addition to that illustrated having an underside area level with the outer walls subject to reference to the shower tray manufacturers instructions and possible modification. -
Baseboard B & C may require cutting from panel to locate as shown in illustrations for some sizes/shapes of shower tray.
Note! The baseboards will fit upto a length of 2000mm, a gap is normally seen at each end. -
When satisfied, move the baseboards from the tray onto a flat surface in the same pattern as determined in step 1. Place the shower tray on top with the waste outlet locating with the centre of baseboard B.
-
With the waste hole located over baseboard B, mark the edges of the tray onto the baseboards B and C with a marker pen on all sides.
Note! Take care not to mark the shower tray itself. -
With the edges of the tray clearly marked on the baseboards, remove the shower tray and then mark a second line 30mm in from the original line.
Note! It is only necessary to mark 30mm back on the sides to be fitted with panels (see Panel Riser Kit instruction). -
Using the second line on the baseboards B and C (30mm back from the original marked line) carefully cut the baseboards using a jigsaw.
With the shower tray upside down, dry fit the cut baseboards B and C to the underside of the tray to ensure correct fitting and access of the waste outlet (not supplied). Make any adjustments if required. -
When satisfied, apply the compound adhesive A to the baseboards B and C in accordance with the instructions on the cartridge. Press the baseboards firmly onto the surface of the tray, turn over and weight down if necessary. A tack bond should be achieved in good conditions of approximately 10 – 20 minutes enabling installation, and a firm bond is achieved in one hour.
Note! On some types of shower trays with exceptionally uneven, scalloped or rough surfaces, addition compound adhesive A may be required – this may be purchased from your supplier.
Note! It is very important on all types of shower trays that a close fit is achieved i.e. NO gap should exist between the baseboards and the surface of the underside of the tray.
Once a close fitting baseboard assembly has been achieved with the adhesive dried sufficiently to permit further installation
(Note! Do not proceed if adhesive is not dry), please carefully follow the instructions supplied with your chosen panel riser pack.
