USING YOUR APPLIANCE
USING YOUR KETTLE:
- Place the kettle on a flat surface.
- To fill the kettle, remove it from the power base and open the lid, fill the kettle with desired amount of water up to 1.7 litres and close the lid. The water must be within the min and the max level. Too little water will cause the kettle to switch off before it has boiled.
- PLEASE NOTE: Do not fill the water over the maximum level, as water may spill out of the spout when boiling. Ensure that the lid is firmly in place before plugging the kettle into the power outlet.
- Position the kettle on the power base.
- Connect the plug into a power outlet. Press the power switch and the indicator will light up and start to boil the water. The kettle will switch off automatically once the water has boiled. Note that 30 seconds will have to elapse before you can reboil that same water again if needed. You may shut off the power by directly lifting the kettle from the power base at any moment to stop the boiling process.
- PLEASE NOTE: Ensure that the switch is free of obstructions and the lid is firmly closed, the kettle will not turn off if the switch is constrained or if the lid is open.
- Lift the kettle from the power base and then pour the water.
- CAUTION: Operate carefully when pouring the water from your kettle as boiling water may result in scalding. DO NOT open the lid while the water in the kettle is hot.
- The kettle will not re-boil until the switch is pressed again. The kettle may be stored on the power base when not in use.
PLEASE NOTE
- Always disconnect the power supply when not in use.
BOIL DRY PROTECTION:
- Should you accidentally allow the kettle to operate with out any water, the boil dry protection function will automatically switch off the power.
- If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool prior to filling with cold water before re-boiling.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
- Always disconnect the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool down completely before cleaning.
- Never immerse the kettle, power cord or base in water – or allow moisture to get in contact with these parts.
- Wipe the exterior of the kettle body with a clean, damp cloth – NEVER use an abrasive or poisonous cleaner.
- When not in use or storage, the power cord may be wound under the power base.
CAUTION
- DO NOT use chemical, steel, wooden or abrasive cleaners to clean the exterior of the kettle to prevent loss of glossy finish.
BOIL DRY PROTECTION:
Your kettle should be periodically de-scaled as the mineral deposits in tap
water may form scale on the bottom of your kettle.
You can use a commercially available de-scaler. Alternatively, you may follow
the below instructions using white vinegar:
- Fill the kettle with equal parts white vinegar and water.
- Boil the solution and leave overnight.
- Discard the mixture in the kettle and refill with clean water to the max line, boil and then discard the water.
