THROWING METHODS (AXE)

The ideal axe throw will allow the axe to flip end over end, allowing the weight of the heat to move through the air and fly straight at the target. Experiment with these methods to find your throwing style.

  • One Handed: With one hand, grip the part 3 axe handle near the bottom.
Raise the axe over your shoulder, then extend your elbow and release the axe in front of your chest.
    Thrown similar to a baseball
    Throwing Methods \(Axe\)

  • Two Handed: Grip the part 3 axe handle with both hands.
Raise the axe over your head, then extend your elbows and release the axe in front of your chest.
Start behind the head and arc above to release in front of you
    Throwing Methods \(Axe\)

  • Underhand: With one hand, grip the part 3 axe handle near the bottom.
Lower the axe near your hip, then swing your arm upward and release the axe in front of your chest.
This throwing style causes the axe to tumble in an opposite direction
    Throwing Methods \(Axe\)
    Recommended
: Step into the throwing motion to build momentum, increase speed, and help the axe fly straighter.

THROWING METHODS (Throwing Star)

The ideal shuriken (throwing star) rotates 360-degrees multiple times before contact with the target.

Because the points of contact (the points) are so small, it is recommended that you throw gently to achieve contact with the target.

  • Overhand: In one hand, grip the part 4 throwing star between your thumb and forefinger.
Raise the star over your shoulder, then extend your elbow and release the star in front of your chest.
    Throwing Methods \(Throwing Star\)

  • Side Face: In one hand, grip the part 4 throwing star between your thumb and fore finger.
Turn so the shoulder of your dominant/throwing arm is in line with the target and turn your wrist so the flat of the star faces upward.
Keeping your wrist straight, extend your arm toward the target and release the star when it is in line with the target.
    Throwing Methods \(Throwing Star\)

TARGET STORAGE

Properly fold your target to make it last longer.

  1. Hold the part 2 target flat in front of you.

  2. Twist each side of the target in opposite directions, creating a figure 8.

  3. Fold the two halves of the figure eight together, then tuck the smaller of the two side into the large.

  4. Store the folded target in the part 1 carrying case.
