RYOBI RR18 18V ONE Radio with Bluetooth
IMPORTANT
It is essential that you read the instructions in this manual before
assembling, operating, and maintaining the product. Subject to technical
modifications.
Safety, performance, and dependability have been given top priority in the
design of your radio.
INTENDED USE
The radio is intended for reception of analog broadcasting, and streaming
audio from BLUETOOTH enabled devices. Through USB connection, the product can
recharge USB devices.
Do not use the product for any other purpose.
RADIO SAFETY WARNINGS
- Never disassemble or modify the product in any way.
- Do not use the product near water.
- Do not place the product near any heat sources, such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other products (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
- Do not cover ventilation openings with items, such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc.
- Do not place the product in closed bookcases or racks without proper ventilation.
- Disposal of a battery into fire or a hot oven, or mechanically crushing or cutting of a battery, can result in an explosion.
- Leaving a battery in an extremely high temperature surrounding environment can result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
- A battery subjected to extremely low air pressure may result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
ADDITIONAL BATTERY SAFETY WARNINGS
To reduce the risk of fire, personal injury, and product damage due to a short
circuit, never immerse your tool, battery pack or charger in fluid or allow a
fluid to flow inside them. Corrosive or conductive fluids, such as seawater,
certain industrial chemicals, and bleach or bleach-containing products, etc.,
can cause a short circuit.
TRANSPORTING LITHIUM BATTERIES
Transport the battery in accordance with local and national provisions and
regulations.
Follow all special requirements on packaging and labelling when transporting
batteries by a third party. Ensure that no batteries can come in contact with
other batteries or conductive materials while in transport by protecting
exposed connectors with insulating, non-conductive caps or tape. Do not
transport batteries that are cracked or leaking. Check with the forwarding
company for further advice.
CONTROL BUTTONS
POWER/MODE BUTTON
Use the power/mode button and turn the product on and off, and cycle between modes.
Turning the radio on and off
Press and hold the power/mode button for two seconds to turn the product on
and off.
Mode selection
Press the power/mode button to cycle through modes.
BLUETOOTH mode
AM/FM mode
NOTE : When turned on, the radio will return to the last mode that was
used.
BLUETOOTH mode
-
Press the power/mode button until the BLUETOOTH screen appears. The radio will begin searching for a previously paired device. “bt” will begin blinking in the LCD display.

If the paired device is not available, “bt” will blink continuously.

To pair a device with the radio, select “RYOBI RR18” on the BLUETOOTH capable device.

When the device has successfully paired with the radio, “bt” will stop blinking in the LCD display.

Once the device has successfully paired with the radio, use the controls on the BLUETOOTH capable device to move through tracks and control volume, or press the arrow buttons on the radio to go to the previous or next track. Press the play/pause button to play/pause streamed audio.
NOTE: These controls may not be supported by the BLUETOOTH device and/or streaming application being used. -
If a device disconnects with the radio, the BLUETOOTH indicator will flash until another device pairs to the radio.

To disconnect the current device to allow connection to another BLUETOOTH enabled device, press and hold the play/pause button. The radio will then be in pair mode and can be connected to a different device.
NOTE : The product will turn off in half an hour if no audio has been streamed in BLUETOOTH mode. Turn on the product to resume operation.
AM/FM mode -
Press the power/mode button until the AM or FM appears on the LCD display.

Press the left arrow button to tune to a lower frequency.
Press the right arrow button to tune to a higher frequency. Briefly push either button (not press and hold) to tune one frequency step at a time. Press and hold the desired arrow button for one second to tune to the next frequency with clear reception.
VOLUME UP BUTTON+
Use the volume up button to increase volume.
VOLUME DOWN BUTTON_
Use the volume down button to decrease volume.
PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON
In BLUETOOTH mode, press the play/pause button to play/pause streamed audio. Press and hold the play/pause button to disconnect the BLUETOOTH® enabled device.
PRESET STATION BUTTON
The memory feature saves up to 20 frequencies as presets in the radio’s memory. You can save 10 frequencies in FM mode and 10 in AM mode.
To store a frequency in memory: -
Tune to the frequency you want to save.

Press and hold the PRESETS button for 1 second. A memory location number will blink on and off.

Press either arrow button to scroll through the memory locations.

Press the PRESETS button to store the frequency in the selected memory location.
To recall a preset frequency: -
Press the PRESETS button and quickly release to cycle through stored frequencies.
ARROW BUTTONS <>
In BLUETOOH mode: Press the arrow buttons on the radio to go to the previous or next track.
In radio mode: Press the left arrow button to tune to a lower frequency. Press the right arrow button to tune to a higher frequency. Briefly push either button (not press and hold) to tune one frequency step at a time. Press and hold the desired arrow button for one second to tune to the next frequency with clear reception.
USB CHARGING PORT
Connect a USB device to the USB charging port to get power from the product. When the product is turned off, the USB charging port does not supply power.
MAINTENANCE
- Use only original accessories and spare parts. Should components need to be replaced which have not been described, please contact an authorised service centre. All repairs should be performed by an authorised service centre.
- Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, carbon dust, etc.
- Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken or destroy plastic which may result in serious personal injury.
