  • Power consumption: 915-1090 W
  • Protection class: I

Additional safety information

  • The appliance should be connected only to earthed wall sockets that have been installed by the regulations. Keep the power cord and plug dry at all times.
  • Place the appliance on a level and firm surface and ensure there is sufficient space around the appliance.
  • Attach the power cord so that no one can trip over it and rip it out of the socket. Protect the power cord from damage.
  • The power cord must not come into contact with the hot surface of the appliance.
  • The deep-fryer must only be put into operation once the oil or fat has been added.
  • Caution – the appliance becomes very hot during operation. Never touch the hot deep-fryer or other hot parts of the appliance when it is in operation.
  • Caution! Risk of burns! You must not move the deep-fryer if it contains hot oil. Let the appliance cool down before cleaning it or putting it away.
  • Observe the MIN and MAX marks when filling the deep-fryer. If more oil is added than the level of the MAX mark, the oil may overflow.
  • After each use, turn the appliance off and unplug the power cord before changing accessories or cleaning the appliance.
  • The appliance is used for the preparation of food. The appliance and all accessories should therefore be kept clean at all times.
  • CAUTION – fire hazard! You must be extremely cautious when using the appliance with hot oil or other fats. Hot oil and fats are highly flammable, especially after being used several times and/or when dirty. Never pour water onto hot or burning oil. If flames appear, close the lid of the deep-fryer if possible to extinguish the flames. In the event of overheating, immediately pull out the power cord.
  • The manufacturer declines all liability in case of improper use or repair of the appliance. Warranty claims will be deemed invalid in such cases.

Setting up and connecting

  • Remove all packaging from the appliance.
  • Clean the appliance (see chapter “Cleaning and Care”).

Set up the appliance on a stable and level surface near to a plug socket. Make sure that the appliance is positioned on a horizontal, heat-insulated and grease-resistant surface.

Note regarding the use of oil and fat
The best frying results are achieved with high-quality peanut oil. Do not mix different types of oil. When using solid fat, this must be cut into small pieces so that the deep-fryer does not heat up empty in the first few minutes. The temperature must be set to 150°C until the fat has completely melted. Only then can you set the actual required temperature.

Using the appliance for the first time

  • Make sure that the oil pot engages completely and correctly into the housing.

  • The deep-fryer must only be put into operation once the oil or fat has been added.

  • Add the desired amount of oil or fat to the oil pot. Make sure that the filling quantity is between the minimum marking (MIN 0.8 l) and the maximum marking (MAX 1.0 l)

  • Close the lid to heat the oil more quickly.

  • Now insert the power cord into the socket.

  • Turn the temperature control knob to the right to reach the desired temperature level or set it to 150°C if you are using solid grease. While the appliance is heating the oil, the LED lights up red. As soon as the set temperature level is reached, the LED goes out.

  • You can now put the food in the deep-frying basket. Take care not to put too much food in the deep-frying basket. The best frying results are achieved when the food can float in the oil with sufficient space.

  • Then close the lid and slowly dip the deep-frying basket into the hot oil by lowering the handle.

  • It is normal for condensation water to form on the window and lid during the deep-frying process.

  • After the desired cooking time, lift the basket out of the oil by lifting the handle. After a brief draining time, you can now open the lid by pressing the lid opening button and removing the deep frying basket from the deep-fryer using the handle.
Caution! Hot steam may escape during this step.

  • Depending on what food is being fried, we recommend placing the food on a piece of kitchen roll to remove excess oil.

  • If you want to carry out a second deep-frying, make sure that there are no remains from the first deep-frying floating in the oil. These would burn during a second deep-frying and can taste unpleasant.

  • Make sure that the oil has heated up again and the LED has gone out after each successive deep frying. The deep-frying oil cools down due to the temperature of the food being fried, so it must first be reheated to the desired temperature for the new food to be fried at the same high temperature. If the deep-frying oil is too cold, the food being fried will soak up the oil and taste very greasy.

  • When deep-frying is finished, turn the knob back to the “OFF” position and disconnect the deep fryer plug.
IMPORTANT! Leave the deep-fryer in place until the oil has cooled down completely.

  • You can use the oil several times for deep-frying. Please make sure to change the oil after deep frying 5-8 times. This should be done beforehand if unpleasant odours arise if smoke forms during the deep-frying process or if the oil turns dark.

The cooking times and temperatures indicated are approximate values that can be modified according to quantity and personal taste. The filling quantity is also heavily dependent on the food being fried. As a general rule, the deep- frying basket should not be filled more than to the edge, and there should be enough space for the food to float in the oil.

Important Tips:
According the latest knowledge of researchers, following max. temperatures should be obeyed and all foods should be fried max to a gold colour:

  • 170°C for all potatoes, breaded food and all other starch-containing products
  • 190°C for meat and poultry with no breading

Exceeding the recommended temperatures can lead to the formation of acrylamide, which is harmful to health. The recommended temperature limits are still observed at the quantity, temperature and time specified in the table in each case – if the parameters change, the cooking process must be terminated in time by monitoring the degree of browning so that no acrylamide is formed.

Tips for deep-frying fresh food

  • Make sure that the food is of an even thickness to ensure a uniform cooking time.
  • Breaded food:
    • Foods with a high water content (fish, meat, vegetables) should be breaded or rolled in flour before frying. Any excess flour or breadcrumbs should be tapped off thoroughly.
    • Breaded foods may also stick to the deep-frying basket. In this case, it is better to dip the deep-frying basket into the oil first and then slowly and carefully put the breaded food directly into the hot oil.
  • Avoid moisture: For crispy results, dry the food well before deep-frying. This applies in particular to the preparation of French fries.

Usage of the potato dicer

  • Before using the potato dicer for the first time, clean it as described in the “Cleaning and care” section.

  • Afterwards, make sure that the blade insert is correctly positioned in the collection container and that the upper part of the dicer is engaged in the guide ring.
Tip: Caution – risk of cutting!

  • You can now put the potatoes on the blade insert, either peeled or unpeeled according to your taste. The fries will be longer if you place the potato with its smallest surface on the blade insert and press down lightly to secure it in place.

  • Then put the upper part of the potato dicer over the potato. Make sure that the guide ring of the upper part is placed over the collection container.

  • Now press the upper part of the dicer firmly onto the potato so that the potato is pressed through the dicer unit and cut.

  • Only cut as many potatoes one after the other as the collection container can hold. The number of potatoes that can fit in the container is heavily dependent on the size of the potatoes.

Recipe for home-made fries

Ingredients:

  • Potatoes
  • Water
  • 1 litre of oil

Method:

  • Prepare: Peel or thoroughly wash potatoes according to taste
  • Slice: Cut the potatoes into sticks of the same size using the potato dicer
  • Wash: Wash the potato sticks in a cold water bath
  • Dry: Dry thoroughly with a kitchen towel
  • First deep-fry: Deep-fry the potato sticks for 3-5 minutes at 170°C
  • Cool: Cool the potato sticks on a piece of kitchen roll
  • Second deep-fry: Fry the pre-fried and cooled French fries for 5-7 minutes at 190°C. (Do not defrost frozen French fries before frying!)
  • Drain: Remove and leave to drain briefly on a wire rack.

Season to taste with salt and other spices and serve with homemade dips. Other delicious vegetable fries such as beetroot, parsnip or courgette taste even better when made from scratch.
Tip: For particularly crispy results, you can also freeze the pre-fried French fries overnight. (Pre-fried French fries can also be kept for up to 2 months in the freezer. So you can always have some handy!)

Cleaning and care

  • Disconnect the power cord and allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.

  • Before changing the oil, please wait until it has cooled down completely. Then remove the oil-pot from the heating base.

  • Used oil or fat must be disposed of properly and in an environmentally friendly manner. The best way to do this is to pour the cooled oil into a plastic bottle from one of the four corners of the oil-pot.

  • The outside of the oil-pot may become discoloured when cleaned in the dishwasher. This discolouration is not harmful or a sign of poor quality but is merely typical of the material.

  • When cleaning the oil-pot, do not use any metallic, abrasive objects or cleaning agents as these could damage the non-stick coating.

  • The potato dicer can be disassembled for easier cleaning. The blade insert can be taken out of the collection container.
Tip: Caution – risk of cutting!

  • Remove the odour filter before cleaning the lid in the dishwasher.

  • Replace the odour filter after approximately 10 deep-frying processes at the latest.
