Make sure that you wait before us-ing the device after any transport until the device has reached the ambient air temperature. Great fluctuations in temperature or humidity may lead to moisture within the device caused by condensation, which can cause a short.

Maintenance

Troubleshooting – Repairs
A detailed documentation on trou-bleshooting can be found in the instruction manual (see chapter 3).
Any repairs must be carried out at the manufacturer’s plant.
Disconnect the power supply immediately and contact your supplier, if …

  • liquid has entered your device
  • the device does not properly work and you cannot rectify this problem yourself.

Device description
This quick installation guide is for the master clocks DTS 4801, DTS 4802, DTS 4803 and DTS 4806 as well as the time servers DTS 4132, DTS 4135 and DTS 4136.
Below, the term DTS is used for better readability.

Installation

  1. Select device configuration
A: Synchronisation durch GNSS / from GNSSMOBATIME DTS 4132 Timeserver -
InstallationB: Synchronisation durch NTP-Server / from NTP server MOBATIME DTS 4132 Timeserver - Installation
1

  2. Prepare network environment
Prior to the installation in the net-work, coordinate with the network administrator. Have the DHCP server (if available) prepared.
If no DHCP server is present, the network parameters must be set via the serial interface (see step 7 Serial).
Unlock port UDP 123 in the network.

  3. Install GNSS receiver
    (configuration A only)
The GNSS receiver must have an unobstructed view of the sky and thus must be mounted on the outer building facade, ideally on the roof.

  4. Connect GNSS receiver
    (configuration A only)

  5. Connect network cable
Connect the DTS with the network to be synchronized.
ATTENTION: If configuration takes place over a serial interface, connect the network cable only after the network configuration.

  6. Connect mains power
Couple the power plug included in the delivery with a suitable power cable and connect it.
    Mains voltage: 90 -240 VAC / 50 – 60 Hz
The DTS boots in approx. 60 sec. The end of the booting procedure is indicated by the display.
Configuration A: The GNSS receiver needs up to 5 min after connecting mains power to receive the time from satellites. Upon successful synchronization, the LED DCF blinks once every second. L = Phase
    N = neutral conductor
    PE = protective ground

  7. Connect to DTS
    With DHCP server:
    Telnet/SSH (e.g. with PuTTY):
Connect to the DTS using the IP address (press red button until IP
    address appears on display):
Select Telnet or SSH in PuTTY ➔ enter the IP address and open the connection.
    MOBA-NMS:
Install software (see BE-800790 Instruction manual MOBA-NMS).
    Automatic device search:
    • Select Unicast (IPv4)
    • Check box of corresponding device
    • Enter password (see below)
    • Enter IP search area (in the correct subnet)
    • Select the DTS device
    • Select “Finish”
    Alternatively add device manually:
    • Select the model
    • Enter password (see below)
    • Enter IP address
    Serial:
Connect the DTS to the serial interface of the PC via the 9-pole Sub-D plug (front side). Use a crossover cable (null modem) with a socket plug on both sides (female).
Start a terminal program on the PC (e.g. PuTTY). Comm. parameters: 38400, 8, 1, no parity, no flow control.
ATTENTION: The correct COM port must be selected.
    Login data:
    Telnet/SSH/Serial
    User name: dts
    Password: dts
    MOBA-NMS
Password: mobatimeMOBATIME DTS 4132 Timeserver - Connect
1

  8. Configuration
    Define the IP address:
    Telnet/SSH/Serial:
Open the menu “2 Configuration ➔ 5 Network ➔ 1 IPv4 Configuration”, set network parameters according to the network administrator. After setting the parameters, the terminal program must be restarted.
    Define time source:
    Configuration A:
Per default, GNSS (GPS) is set as the synchronization source.
Attention: the time zone must not be modified!
    Configuration B:
Up to four public NTP servers or servers in the network can be configured (menu “2 Configuration ➔ 2 Time-handling ➔ 3/4* NTP Server”)

  • depending on device
Check synchronization and status On the DTS with the LED sync:
    Flashes constantly: synchronization OK
Blinks: DTS runs on internal time, synchronization has not occurred yet
    Additionally for configuration A:
LED DCF blinks once per second:
    GNSS reception OK
