Product Usage Instructions

External Control

RS-232C

The monitor uses a 9-pin D-Sub connector for RS-232C
communication. The pin configuration is as follows:

  • Pin 1: Not connected
  • Pin 2: Transmit Data (TD)
  • Pin 3: Receive Data (RD)
  • Pin 4: Request to Send (RTS)
  • Pin 5: Clear to Send (CTS)
  • Pin 6: Data Set Ready (DSR)
  • Pin 7: Signal Ground (SG)
  • Pin 8: Data Carrier Detect (DCD)
  • Pin 9: Not connected

LAN

The monitor has an RJ-45 connector for LAN communication. It
supports 10/100 BASE-T Ethernet.

Communication Timing

RS-232C

The RS-232C communication timing is set to:

  • Baud Rate: 9600 bps
  • Data Bits: 8
  • Parity: None
  • Stop Bits: 1
  • Character Format: ASCII
  • Response Time: 100ms

LAN

The LAN communication timing is set to:

  • Response Time: ON/OFF (15ms/10ms)

VCP Message

The VCP (Video Control Panel) and CTL (Control) systems use the
following message structure:

  • Header
  • Message
  • Check Code
  • Delimiter

The header consists of the following fields:

  • SOH (Start of Header): ASCII ‘SOH’ (01h)
  • Reserved: ASCII ‘0’ (30h)
  • Destination ID: ID of the destination monitor
  • Source ID: ID of the source monitor
  • Message Type: Type of the message (A-F)
  • Message Length: Length of the message in ASCII format

Message

The message contains the actual command or data being sent or
received.

Check Code

The check code is used for error checking in the message.

Delimiter

The delimiter marks the end of the message.

CTL System Command

The CTL system command allows control over various settings and
functions of the monitor. Some of the commands include:

  • Save Current Settings
  • Get Timing Report and Timing reply
  • Power control procedure
  • Date & Time read and write
  • Serial No. & Model Name Read
  • MAC Address Read Request & Reply
  • Remote Control Data Code sending format via RS-232C
  • Firmware Version Command
  • Input Name of Designated Terminal Read/Write/Reset Request

OSD

The monitor features an On-Screen Display (OSD) for adjusting
settings and accessing various functions.

FAQ
