UsoGood DL502 WiFi Trail Camera

Thank you for choosing this camera. This camera is specifically designed for recording the activities of wildlife. To make it easier to use, the user manual includes complete operating guidelines. Please read the manual carefully before use. The user manual has been compiled with reference to the latest information. The manual references captured screen displays and graphics, aiming to introduce digital cameras through a detailed and direct approach. Due to differences in technology research and development and production batches, the screen displays and graphics shown in the manual may differ from the actual camera.

Instructions for using the SD card:
If it is the first time using a newly purchased SD card or if the SD card contains photos taken by other cameras, the camera cannot recognize them. It is important to format the SD card before use to avoid the camera not being able to recognize a newly purchased SD card or a SD card containing photos taken by other cameras;

  • Before inserting or removing the SD card, please turn off the power of the camera first;
  • After multiple uses, the read/write speed of the SD card will decrease. If the performance is low, a new SD card needs to be replaced;
  • The SD card is a precision electronic device, do not bend it and keep it away from falling;
  • Do not expose the SD card to strong electromagnetic or magnetic fields. For example, do not place it near speakers or TV receivers;
  • Do not use or store the SD card at high or low temperatures; keep the SD card clean and away from any liquids. If there is contact with liquid, please wipe it dry with a soft cloth;
  • If the SD card is idle, please place it in a protective case;
  • Please note that during long-term use, the SD card may become hot, which is a normal phenomenon;
  • Do not use SD cards that have been used in other digital cameras. If used, it is necessary to format the SD card on the camera;
  • If any of the following operations are performed on the SD card, it may damage the recorded date:
    Incorrect use of the SD card; disconnecting the power supply or removing the SD card while recording, deleting (formatting), or reading files. This camera requires a Class10 or higher TF high-speed card (multimedia SD card).

System Settings

  1. Manual shooting: use button, you can choose to take photos or record manually, click OK to proceed;
  2. View playback: click MODE button, double click MODE to enter the setting menu bar;
  3. Delete playback: playback mode click on the button to switch the playback content; long press MODE button can be;
  4. Switch mode: menu bar click on the switching key, click OK to confirm the selection;
  5. Execute function: Select the key to ON mode, the camera will execute the selected function.

Detailed instructions

Using Batteries
Please press the battery case release button to insert 8 brand new 1.SV AA batteries as shown in the picture (the batteries must be 1.SV AA batteries, please don’t mix new and old batteries).

Using external power supply
Insert the DC cable (6V voltage, 1.SA current, 3.Smmx1.3mm wire diameter) that meets the specifications into the DC power supply hole.

Installation of SD card
The maximum support for a 128GB SD card, needs to use Class10 or higher read/write speed class, the first time before use, please format the SD card to FAT32 format on the PC, and then insert it into the camera to format it.

Function Description

Note: After setting the function in “SET” mode, you need to switch the camera to “ON” mode to take effect and start working.

Motion Detection:
After turning on motion detection, the camera will detect a moving object and start shooting. ( 1 You can select the interval between each shot of motion detection in the ninth option (detection interval) in the settings menu. 2 High, medium and low selections can be made in the tenth option (PIR sensitivity) in the setup menu).

Timer shooting:
After turning on timed shooting, you can set the 00:00:05-23:59:59 second interval. After the specified interval time is reached, the camera will automatically shoot. (When timed shooting is selected, the tenth option (PIR sensitivity) in the setting menu will be invalid).

Frame filming:
After turning on Frame filming shooting, set the 00:00:05-23:59:59 second interval. After the specified interval is reached, the camera will automatically shoot and synthesize the video at a frame rate of 2fps per second.
Note:

  1. When Timed shooting/Frame filming is turned on, Motion detection does not take effect, and the three are not turned on at the same time.
  2. Frame filming can only record video, which is suitable for shooting scenes that last for a long time.

Work Time:
Let the camera work within the specified time, the time can be set from 00:00 to 23:59, and outside the specified time, shooting in any mode will not be triggered.

Photo or Video:

  1. Taking photos: In motion detection or timed shooting mode, the device will only perform photo-taking operations; (but the frame filming mode is not affected and can only record videos).
  2. Recording: Enable backup to only perform video recording, with a selectable range of 5 seconds to 3 minutes. (Priority is given to video recording, followed by taking photos)
  3. Photo+ video: This function allows users to take photos and video at the same time in motion detection/timer shooting mode.

Photo Resolution:
Select the resolution range of the photo taken: 32M/24M/20M/16M/8M/4M/2M

Video Resolution:
Choose different resolutions for shooting videos 2.7K/1080P/720P

Photo Burst:
Select the number of continuous shooting 1/2/3/4/5, motion detection/timer shooting will take effect, and frame video will not be taken.

Video Length:
Manually select the recording duration of 5 seconds/10 seconds/20 seconds/30 seconds/1 minute/2 minutes/3 minutes, motion detection/timer shooting will take effect, but frame video will not take effect.

Audio Recording:
When recording video, you can capture the sounds in the environment.

Shot Lag:
Set the interval between each shot of motion detection.

PlR Sensitivity:
PIR sensitivity allows manual adjustment of detection sensitivity to 3 levels: low/medium/high.
Note: Sensitivity setting refers to adjusting the detection distance. Frequent photography speeds up power consumption, so please turn it on with caution.

Side Motion Sensor:
Increase the sensing range on both sides of the device.

Motion Filter:

  1. Area selection: Select a specific area through the APP, and moving objects in the area will trigger shooting.
  2. Filter area: Moving objects in unselected areas will not trigger shooting, effectively reducing false triggering of shooting.

PIR Test:
Used to check whether the PIR sensor is effective.

IR Strength:
Used to provide lighting support when shooting at night, and can supplement the brightness coverage, 3 modes: Near/Middle/Far.

Camera Name:
You can enter the camera name or logo you want.

Wi-Fi LED:
When the device is connected to a WiFi network, the WiFi indicator light will flash blue to indicate that WiFi is connected.

Date & Time:
Set and adjust the current time and date displayed on the camera device. (The camera device supports app connection to automatically obtain the time and date).

Date Format:
Select the camera date display format, 24Hformat or 12H format.

Loop Record:
If it is set to take pictures, the remaining space is less than 32MB, it will start to be overwritten; If it is a set recording, the space required will be estimated based on the recording duration. The additional space reserved for recording is 2MB per second. For example: if it is set to 10S recording, it will require at least 52MB of space. If it is not enough, it will start overwriting.

Beep Sound:
Capture ambient sounds while recording video.

Memory Card Format:
Erase all data on the memory card.

Language:
Switch able languages: English/German/French/Spanish/Dutch/ Italian/Polish/Simplified Chinese/Korean/Japanese/Russian.

Password Protection:
Allow users to set a password to restrict access to device functions or content. (1. If you forget your password, you can connect to the device through the app to view the password. 2. Hold down the button and the OK button to turn on the phone and unlock the camera.)

Factory Reset:
Erase all user settings, configurations, and data and restore the device to its original factory state.

Version Info:
Check the firmware and Bluetooth version number of the current device. The APP version number can be checked through the APP client.

WiFi connection and APP control

DL502 trail camera supports mobile phones to connect to the camera through built-in WiFi. Once connected, you can use the App to preview the camera screen, set camera parameters, preview and download photos and videos.
Note: Please do not always keep the WiFi connection. This WiFi cannot connect to the Internet, WiFi function is often used to set parameters and download pictures/videos through the APP. When the APP connects to the camera, it interrupts the camera working status.

Download the free APP

  1. Search “TrailCam GO” on the Google Play store or the 105 store to download;

  2. Directly scan the QR code below to download the usogood DL502 camera application “TrailCam GO”, click download on the pop-up page, and wait for the installation to complete!

  3. Connect the APP to the camera’s built-in WiFi to adjust camera parameters or preview/download pictures and videos.

  • Step 1: Switch to “ON” mode to connect WiFi, and the camera counts down to 10s then enters standby mode with a black screen in this mode.

  • Step 2: Please make sure your phone’s Bluetooth is turned on, and connect to WiFi via mobile phone Bluetooth.

  • Step 3: Open the APP click the(+) “Tap to add a device”, pick “Wil-Fi Camera”.

  • Step 4: Check whether the searched model is DL502 XXXX, if not , please click to “connect other camera”, find the DL502 XXXX to connect. ( Need to allow the APP to “Join” the camera’s network)

  • Step 5: After the connection is successful ( The camera’s green light blinks to indicate that it is connecting, and the green light is always on to indicatea successful connection.) Enter the camera in “My Devices”, and you canstart your hunting trip.

  • Step 6: Check whether all permissions in the settings of your mobile phones are turned on.

Install Camera

  1. Please read the instructions carefully to set the correct mounting height and angle, the recommended installation height is 3-6 feet;
  2. Then please turn the camera to “ON” mode (make sure the camera is in “ON” mode before you leave);
  3. After a 10s countdown, the camera enters the standby mode, the camera screen is turned off, and animals or humans passing by trigger the camera to silence photos or video automatically.

Q&A

  • The camera cannot be turned on?

    • The battery type is incorrect or incorrectly installed, please replace brand new 8x 1.SV AA batteries and install the batteries correctly according to the instructions on the battery cover.
    • Do not mix use old and new batteries, and do not use non-1.SV AA batteries.
    • Check whether the switch has been adjusted to “SET” mode.
  • The camera only took very few pictures?

    • The wide angle of this camera can reach 120°. Please check whether there is a target animal within the field of view. In the camera settings, enhancing the PIR sensitivity and shortening the PIR interval will also have a better triggering effect.
    • Set a reasonable installation height according to the size of the animals under observation. The recommended installation height is 3-6 feet. If the animals under observation are small, it is recommended to install the camera body tilted at 45 degrees.
  • It shows ‘SD card Error’.
    Please format the SD card on your computer first, and then format it again. (SD card class 10 or higher, up to 128GB)

  • The camera suddenly turns off.

    • Low battery power, please replace the battery with a new one or use an external power supply.
    • Check whether the battery compartment door is tightly closed.
    • If there is no operation for a long time, the camera will automatically enter the shutdown state. Push the button to “OFF” mode then back to “STE” mode to restart the camera.
  • The WiFi hotspot cannot be searched on the mobile phone ?

    • Please check whether the battery capacity of the camera is low or exhausted. Activating WiFi requires high current support, APP cannot be opened under the low power condition.
    • The connection needs to be buffered, please wait for 3 – Ss to complete the connection. If the phone does not search the camera , please turn off the phone s WiFi settings first, and then turn it on again.
  • The WiFi hotspot can be found on the mobile phone but cannot be connected to the APP?
    If the WiFi hotspot is turned on for more than 1-3min ( by default) and the phone is not connected to the camera, it will automatically exit the App connection. please reconnect to the WiFi hotspot.

  • Can I search in the browser using the camera’s WiFi ?
    The camera WiFi doesn’t work with home router. After successful connection, it is normal for Android users to have no Internet

  • Can I keep my phone connected to the camera WiFi all the time?
    To save power, if the phone does not connect to the camera WiFi within 1-3min ( you Can set this parameter on your camera), WiFi will be turned off automatically. Please turn on the camera WiFi again.

  • Can not download photos in the app?
    Please find the app in the phone settings, and check if the album permission of the app is< allow access to All photos>, please select < allow access to All photos>, otherwise you cannot download photos in the app.

  • It works fine during the day but the night vision doesn’t work?

    • Low battery power, Turning on night vision requires a lot of power. Please replace the battery with a new one.
    • Check function settings: motion detection/monitoring period/ frame shooting, PIR sensitivity function settings.
  • The camera with poor battery life?

    • The camera consumes power quickly if it is in “SET” mode for a long time.
    • Connecting the phone to the camera WIFI for a long time will speed up the power consumption.
    • The higher the PIR sensitivity, the greater the power consumption. A4: The farther the light supplement distance at night, the greater the power consumption.
  • The camera screen fogs up.

    • Screen fogging may occur when the camera is moved from one temperature extreme to another.
    • In a high-humidity environment, the camera screen may become damp and foggy, please check whether the DC interface rubber plug and the screen protective cover are properly closed.
  • External power supply does not work?

    • The power adapter may be damaged, faulty, or incompatible. The camera requires a 6Vl.SA power supply with a 3.Smmxl.3mm wire diameter interface specification.
    • The plug connecting the power line may be defective or not inserted correctly, causing an unstable power supply, please check it.
