INTRODUCTION
- Congratulations on your purchase of your new ARC Audio preamp equalizer. Our sonic excellence is considered our most important objective. - This manual has been prepared to help you maximize your enjoyment of the outstanding performance and multiple advanced features of this unit. To fully realize the exceptional performance this product is capable of, all spinal sources, amplifiers, and speakers must be of the highest quality.
EQUALIZER BACKGROUND
- There are three types of equalizers: Graphic, parametric, and a hybrid of these two, often referred to as paragraphic.
- Additionally, there are passive equalizers, which have no gain and active gain preamps, which have a gain stage usually with volume control.
- As in state-of-the-art home audio systems, the optimum system requires a dedicated preamp with enormous gain to drive the various power amplifiers. Since home audio amplifiers do not have adjustable sensitivity, they require a high-output preamplifier to drive them to maximum levels.
- This unit incorporates a specific bandwidth parametric equalizer with shelving control. With 12db boost or cut on it’s five bands and internal subwoofer crossover with front panel frequency and volume controls, this unit immediately becomes the most use piece of equipment in your system.

SET-UP ADJUSTMENT
BEFORE TURN ON:
Turn the unit volume to the minimum. Adjust the input gains Turn the source
unit volume to minimum. Set EQ controls to flat (12 o’clock).
SYSTEM TURM ON:
After completing all wiring and signal connections you can now turn the system
on.
ADJUSTMENTS:
Turn equalizer volume up to. Turn the head unit volume up slowly until the
system reaches the level you want as Max. Listen carefully for distortion and
reduce the level immediately if you hear your amplifier begin to clip. Leave
the head unit at this volume and use the volume on the EQ.
REMOTE CONTROL HEAD UNITS
- If you use a head unit with a remote control use the following procedure.
- Turn the head unit to volume. Turn the EQ volume up slowly.
- When you head any clipping reduce the volume slightly. Now use the volume on the head unit with the remote control. Never exceed volume.

LIMITED WARRANTY
- Before shipping this product back for service call for a Return Authorization number. This number must be clearly marked on the outside of the box.
- Terms & Conditions: ARC Audio warrants the unit to be free of any material defects or defects in workmanship for a period of one year and will repair this unit or any part thereof only if it proves to be defective as a result of normal use. In order to receive warranty service on this product, the owner must promptly register by filling in and mailing the Warranty Registration Card.
- Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repairing only the defective components of the unit thereof when it is returned, shipping prepaid, to ARC Audio.
- This warranty is to be considered void if the unit has been tampered with, connected contrary to the installation instructions in the owner’s manual, altered, damaged by improper input voltages or polarity, defaced, or treated in a negligent manner.
- All returns must be sent freight prepaid, along with $10.00 to cover return shipping and handling.
- Out-of-warranty service is available after the warranty expires. Cost of repair is based on current repair labor rates, plus the cost of shipping and handling. When returning for repair, pack the unit securely and send prepaid and insured to the address below. ARC Audio is not responsible for damage incurred during shipping.
