Thank you for choosing an Electrolux
ULTRAPOWER vacuum cleaner. ULTRAPOWER is a cordless stick vacuum cleaner
intended for indoor use on light dry household dust and debris. In order to
ensure the best results, always use original Electrolux accessories and spare
parts. They have been designed especially for your vacuum cleaner.
BEFORE STARTING
- Check that the package includes all parts described in this ULTRAPOWER instruction manual
- Read this instruction manual carefully.
- Pay special attention to the safety precautions chapter.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be
followed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS VACUUM CLEANER.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:
- Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
- Do not operate the vacuum cleaner or charger if it has been damaged in any way. If cleaner is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center.
- To avoid excessive heat and damage to the unit or batteries, do not operate the vacuum cleaner while charging.
- Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
- Use only as described in this manual.
- Use only the charger provided to recharge: SSC-18P US 350050.
- Do not pull or carry by the cord, use cord as a handle, close door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
- Do not use extension cords or outlets with inadequate current carrying capacity.
- Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the charger, not the cord.
- Do not handle the charger or vacuum cleaner with wet hands.
- DO NOT MUTILATE OR INCINERATE BATTERIES AS THEY WILL EXPLODE AT HIGH TEMPERATURES.
- Leaks from battery cells can occur under extreme usage or temperature conditions. If the liquid gets on skin, wash quickly with water. If the liquid gets into the eyes, flush them immediately with clean water for a minimum of 10 minutes. Seek medical attention.
- While there is no shock hazard from electrical terminals located on the vacuum, a burn could result from metal objects being inserted into the terminal areas. Vacuum cleaner terminals should always be kept free of objects.
- This vacuum cleaner creates suction and has a revolving brushroll. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
- Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
- Do not use without a filter in place. When servicing the unit, never put fingers or other objects into the fan chamber in case the unit would accidentally be turned on.
- Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
- Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline, or use on areas where they may be present.
- Locate charger indoors in a cool, dry area, not exposed to weather to avoid electrical shock and/or cleaner damage.
- Keep your work area well lighted.
- Unplug electrical appliances before vacuuming them.

UNPACKING AND ASSEMBLY

Fit the handle by carefully inserting it into the main body.

Secure the handle by tightening the locking screw supplied. Use a screwdriver or a coin.
CHARGING STATION -
Connect the plug in to the charging stand.
There is a hollow space in the bottom of the charging station where unused cable can be wound . -
Insert the adaptor into the mains and position the charging station on a stable and horizontal surface away from heat sources, direct sunlight or wet places.

The wall unit can also be mounted on a wall without the bottom piece. Always ensure that the wall can withstand the weight of ULTRAPOWER. Use the distance piece when mounting towards the wall.
CHARGING ULTRAPOWER
The charging indicator will be lit when ULTRAPOWER is placed in the charging
station.
When ULTRAPOWER is fully charged, the charging indicator will blink slowly
every 5 seconds.
On ULTRAPOWER Lithium the numbers of LED lamps will indicate the level of
charge.
3 LED = fully charged.
If ULTRAPOWER Lithium is fully discharged, it requires approximately 4 hours
charging to regain full battery capacity.
For better battery performance, always keep ULTRAPOWER on charge when it is
not being used.
VACUUMING WITH ULTRAPOWER
Before vacuuming, check that the nozzle wheels and the brush roll are clean
from sharp objects in order to avoid scratching sensitive floors and to ensure
full cleaning performance.
Start and stop ULTRAPOWER by pushing the ON/OFF button A. o/- are the
International symbols for on-off. ULTRAPOWER has 3 power settings which is
regulated with button B .
- ULTRAPOWER will start on the “normal mode”.
- For tougher cleaning jobs, press the power regulation button “B” once for “Booster mode”.
- For more silent cleaning, press the B button one more time to activate the “Silent mode”.
BRUSH ROLL CLEAN TECHNOLOGY™
All ULTRAPOWER models are equipped with BRUSH ROLL CLEAN ™ Technology – a
function that helps to keep the brush roll free from hair and fibers.
It is recommended to use this function once a week when ULTRAPOWER is fully
charged.

Place ULTRAPOWER on a hard and even surface.
Do not use the BRUSH ROLL CLEAN ™ function on carpets. -
Press the BRUSH ROLL CLEAN ™ pedal with your foot while the cleaner is switched on. Hold for 5 seconds until hairs and fibers are removed and then release the pedal. There will be a cutting noise during this process, this is normal. If hairs remain on the brush roll repeat the process.
Please note that the BRUSH ROLL CLEAN ™ function might not be able to remove
thicker threads, wires or fibers that are caught in the brush roll. See
chapter “Removing the brush roll” for these situations.
The BRUSHROLLCLEAN™ TECHNOLOGY function may not function properly when unit
has a low charge.
The BRUSHROLLCLEAN™ TECHNOLOGY function is equipped with an overheating
protection. It will deactivate the brush roll if the BRUSHROLLCLEAN™
TECHNOLOGY function has been activated for more than 30 sec (constant or
interrupted) within one discharging period. To reactivate function, place on
charging stand and charge for 10 minutes. The cleaning function is still
available even when the BRUSHROLLCLEAN™ TECHNOLOGY is disabled.
EMPTYING OF THE DUST CONTAINER.
a) Open the dust container by pressing the dust container button
b) Take out the filters by pressing the release buttons
c) Empty the contents into a dustbin.
Never wash the dust container or filters in a dishwasher.
QUICK CLEANING OF THE INNER FILTER
(Recommended at every emptying).
- Pull the filter cleaning rod (B) to its end position and release it to remove dust from the inner filter.
- Repeat 5 times.
CLEANING THE FILTERS
(Recommended every 5th emptying).
a) Take out both filters by pressing the release buttons .
b) Separate both filters.
c) Rinse the filter parts carefully under lukewarm water without using any
detergents. (never use the dishwasher or washing machine)
d) Shake to remove excess water and leave to dry minimum 12h.
Make sure that the filter parts are completely dried before putting them back
into the cleaner.
IMPORTANT – FILTER CLEANING !
The filters must be cleaned at regular intervals to ensure a high cleaning
performance .
REMOVING THE BRUSH ROLL
To clear the brush roll from thicker threads or wires follow these instructions:
- Turn off ULTRAPOWER.
- Open the brush roll hatch cover and cable protector release button and remove the brush roll.
- Use a pair of scissor to remove threads etc.
- Reassemble the brush roll in reverse order making sure it can spin freely
CLEANING THE HOSE AND AIR CHANNEL
- Loosen the hose behind the nozzle from its upper connection.
- Remove any object that can be blocking the airflow in the hose or in the air channel to the dust cup, and put the hose back.
THE BATTERY PACK
ULTRAPOWER is equipped with a detachable battery pack. Before releasing the
pack, make sure that ULTRAPOWER is in the OFF position.
To release the battery pack lift the battery pack hatch upwards.
Warning: Improper handling of the battery pack may be hazardous.
- Never dispose the battery pack with household waste. If the battery pack is damaged or malfunctioning it should be disposed at recycling station for batteries.
- Never use the battery pack for purposes other than ULTRAPOWER.
- Do not expose the battery pack to heat, outdoor or wet conditions.
- When removing the battery pack keep it away from other metal objects like metal surfaces, paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other metal objects. Short circuiting the battery terminals may cause thermal effects, smoke, sparks, burns or fire.
ULTRAPOWER is available in 3 different voltages.
18V, 24 V Ni-MH and 25,2 V Lithium battery (in some markets). It is not
possible to fit a battery pack with a different voltage to your ULTRAPOWER.
LITHIUM 25,2V:
Ultrapower has advanced electronics to optimize the performance and life of
the battery. Therefore please charge Ultrapower for 4 hours before using for
the first time.
18 V AND 24 V NI-MH :
Please charge Ultrapower for 16 hours before using it for the first time.
EXTRA BATTERY PACK
If you need longer run time, you can buy an extra battery pack ( available in
some markets).
TROUBLESHOOTING
The brushroll stops spinning
- Turn off power.
- Remove any obstructing objects from the brushroll.
- Allow 5 minutes for motor to cool before powering on.
If a red light is lit:
Unit is too hot. Clean filters, brush roll, hose and put on charge.
If red light is blinking:
If red light is blinking the motor is overloaded, causing the vacuum to turn
off. Clear obstruction from brushroll and turn unit on.
The Self-cleaning brush feature isn’t working
- Ensure your UltraPower is fully charged.
- Ensure you are pressing firmly on the pedal while the unit is on.
- Check if there are large carpet fibers, heavy threads, or wires in the brushroll – the selfcleaning brush feature will not be able to remove these obstructions.
Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
THE ELECTROLUX LIMITED WARRANTY
Your Electrolux cleaner is warranted to be free from all defects in material
and workmanship in normal household use for a period of two years. The
warranty is granted only to the original purchaser and members of his or her
immediate household. The warranty is subject to the following provisions.
This warranty does not cover parts of the cleaner that require replacement
under normal use, such as disposable dust bags, fans, filters, drive belts,
light bulbs, brushroll bristles, impellers and cleaning. Any damages or
malfunctions caused by negligence, abuse, or use not in accordance with the
Owner’s Guide are not covered by this warranty. Likewise, any defects or
damages caused by unauthorized service or the use of other than Genuine
Electrolux parts is not covered.
Electrolux will, at its option, repair or replace a defective cleaner or
cleaner part that is covered by this warranty. As a matter of warranty policy,
Electrolux will not refund the consumer’s purchase price.

Any warranty that may be implied in connection with your purchase or use of
the cleaner, including any warranty of Merchantability or any warranty for
Fitness For A Particular Purpose is limited to the duration of this warranty.
Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so
the above limitations may not apply to you.
Your relief for the breach of this warranty is limited to the relief expressly
provided above. In no event shall Electrolux be liable for any consequential
or incidental damages you may incur in connection with your purchase or use of
the cleaner. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of
incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may
not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights
which vary by state.
