Specifications

  • Product Name : LAQUA WQ-300 Series Handheld Meters
  • Measurement Parameter: Dissolved Oxygen
  • Calibration Modes: DO saturation (%) and DO concentration (mg/L)
  • Measurement Modes: Auto Stable, Auto Hold, Real Time

Product Usage Instructions

Rinse the DO electrode
Rinse the DO electrode with clean water and wipe it with a lint-free tissue. Ensure that there are no water droplets on the DO cap and temperature sensor.

Calibration Modes
Place the DO electrode in either water vapor-saturated air (calibration bottle with moist sponge) or air-saturated water. The DO meter has two calibration modes: DO saturation (%) and DO concentration (mg/L). The default mode is DO saturation (%). Press the MODE button to switch to DO concentration mode.

Switch to Calibration Mode
Press the CAL button on the meter to switch to calibration mode. The screen will display “100%” at the bottom. The icon on the screen and the LED light on the electrode (if switched on) will blink until the reading is stable.

Confirm Calibration
Press the ENT button to confirm the DO reading. To abort calibration, press the MEAS button. The meter will briefly show “DONE” and then switch to measurement mode. The calibrated DO value and the electrode icon will appear in measurement mode.

Zero Calibration (Optional)
Immerse the DO electrode in zero solution (0.2% sodium sulfite) and repeat steps 3 and 4 to perform zero calibration. Ensure that the DO cap and temperature sensor of the DO electrode are fully immersed in the zero solution. In step 3, press the CAL button twice to switch to zero calibration mode.

Rinse the DO electrode
Rinse the DO electrode with clean water and wipe it with a lint-free tissue.

Measurement
Immerse the DO electrode in the sample. Ensure that the DO cap and temperature sensor of the DO electrode are fully immersed in the sample.

FAQ

  • How do I switch between DO saturation (%) and DO concentration (mg/L) modes?
Press the MODE button to switch between the two calibration modes.

  • How do I confirm the DO reading during calibration?
Press the ENT button to confirm the DO reading. To abort calibration, press the MEAS button.

  • How do I perform zero calibration?
Immerse the DO electrode in zero solution (0.2% sodium sulfite) and repeat steps 3 and 4 to perform zero calibration.

Dissolved Oxygen Calibration & Measurement

  1. Rinse the DO electrode with clean water and wipe with lint-free tissue.
There should be no water droplets on the DO cap and temperature sensor.

  2. Place the DO electrode in water vaporsaturated air (calibration bottle with moist sponge) or in air-saturated water.
Two calibration modes are available in the
    DO meter:

  3. DO saturation (%)

  4. DO concentration (mg/L)
The default mode is the former. Press MODE button to switch to the latter.

  5. Press CAL button on the meter to switch to calibration mode.
100% is displayed at the bottom of the screen. The icon on the screen and the LED light on the electrode (if switched on) will blink until the reading is stable.

  6. Press ENT button to confirm the DO reading. To abort calibration, press MEAS button.
The meter will show DONE briefl y then switch to measurement mode. The calibrated DO value and the electrode icon will appear in measurement mode.

  7. Immerse the DO electrode in zero solution (0.2% sodium sulfite) and repeat step nos. 3 – 4 to perform zero calibration (optional).

    • Make sure that the DO cap and temperature sensor of the DO electrode are fully immersed in the zero solution.
    • In step no. 3, CAL button must be pressed twice so that the meter will switch to zero calibration mode.
  8. Rinse the DO electrode with clean water and wipe with lint-free tissue.

  9. Immerse the DO electrode in sample.
Make sure that the DO cap and temperature sensor of the DO electrode are fully immersed in the sample.
