Introduction
Thank you for purchasing our Water in Fuel Kit for the 2007.5-2023 Dodge/Ram 6.7L Cummins. This kit is designed to jump the factory water in fuel wiring to a sensor relocated in your aftermarket fuel system. Its purpose is to illuminate the factory WIF warning light in the dashboard if water is detected in the water separator. This is essential for the longevity of your injection system. Sensor Installation

Tools Needed:

  • 24mm or 15/16in Wrench

Parts Needed:

  • DRX391194000 WIF Sensor
  • WS100 Water Separator
  1. Remove the petcock drain off of the Water Separator by spinning it counterclockwise. Once the drain valve is backed out all the way, pull it from the bottom of the Water Separator.
  2. Thread the WIF Sensor into the water separator. Tighten with a 24mm or 15/16in wrench. Tighten the sensor until snug. Do not overtighten or damage to the sensor may occur!

Installing the New Water Separator

Tools Needed:

  • 3 Fuel hose clamps
  • Filter Wrench
  • Safety Glasses

Parts Needed:

  • Water Separator with installed WIF Sensor
  1. Wear safety glasses when removing the old water separator to avoid diesel fuel getting into the eyes.
  2. Clamp all three fuel lines with fuel hose clamps to prevent excessive fuel from siphoning out. Place a bucket or pan below the fuel pump to catch any fuel that may leak out.
  3. Use a filter wrench to loosen the old water separator on the fuel pump and remove it. Catch any excess fuel with a bucket or pan.
  4. Once the old water separator is removed, thread on the new water separator with the pre-installed WIF sensor. Follow the instructions on the side of the filter for proper installation.
  5. Once the new filter is installed, remove the previously installed hose clamps. Key the truck on/bump the starter (depending on the truck application) to prime the fuel system. Properly dispose of the waste fuel caught by the bucket or pan used.

This water in the fuel sensor will only work with certain water separator filters. The fuel petcock must look like the one in the below image for this system to work.

PRE-INSTALLATION CHECKS

WARNING:
SUFFOCATION HAZARD! Immediately discard any plastic bags and packing materials to eliminate CHOKING HAZARDS TO CHILDREN AND ANIMALS.

The installation of your Diesel Rx® water in fuel sensor can be made relatively easy by following the steps outlined in this manual,:

  1. Inventory the package components completely. Notify DIESEL RX® immediately of any missing or damaged parts! 317-421-3180
  2. Read the installation manual completely. Understand how the part operates and understand the installation recommendations before beginning the installation.
  3. The installation recommendations contained herein are suggested installation guidelines only. Individual installations may vary.
  4. If any installation procedure is uncertain, contact DIESEL RX® for technical assistance.

SAFETY GUIDELINES!

  • WARNING Please be sure to check the vehicle’s tires to prevent rolling
  • WARNING Please use proper supports when working beneath an elevated vehicle
  • CAUTION Most diesel pickups have two (2) 12-volt batteries. Disconnect the battery cables to both batteries before proceeding with the AirDog® installation
  • WARNING Vehicle main framers should not be drilled into or welded upon.
  • CAUTION Wear safety glasses or a shield when using tools such as drills and grinders or when using a punch or chisel
  • COUTION Prolonged exposure to loud noise can cause impairment or loss of hearing. Wear suitable hearing protective devices such as ear muffs or ear plugs to protect against loud noises.
  • COUTION Use common sense when routing electrical wiring. Keep them away from hot exhaust components and/or moving parts. Properly secure wires to prevent chaffing.

SENSOR INSTALLATION

NOTICE:
Tighten the sensor till snug. Do not overtighten or damage to the sensor may occur!

WATER SEPARATOR INSTALLATION

  • TOOLS NEEDED:
    • (3) Fuel hose clamps
    • Filter Wrench
    • Safety Glasses
  • PARTS NEEDED:
    • Water Separator with installed WIF Sensor

CAUTION
Wear safety glasses when removing the old water separator to avoid diesel fuel in the eyes.

  1. First, clamp all three fuel lines with fuel hose clamps to prevent excessive fuel from siphoning out and place a bucket or pan below the fuel pump to catch any fuel that may leak out.DIESEL-DRX7.5-23DWIF-Water-Fuel-Sensor-fig-9
  2. Next, use a filter wrench to loosen the old water separator on the fuel pump and remove the old water separator. Again, catch excess fuel with a bucket or pan.
  3. Once the old water separator is removed, go ahead and thread on the new water separator with the pre-installed WIF sensor. Follow the instructions on the side of the filter for proper installation.
  4. Once the new filter is installed, remove the previously installed hose clamps and key the truck on/bump the starter depending on what application of truck it is to prime the fuel system. Propery dispose of the waste fuel that was caught by the bucket or pan used.

INSTALLING WIRING HARNESS

  • TOOLS NEEDED:
    • Flush Cuts or side cuts
  • PARTS NEEDED:
    • 5E-2-07.5-23DWIF Wiring Harness
    • Zip Tie Bundle
  1. Locate the factory WIF plug on the driver side of the engine in the fuel filter housing. This plug may be plugged in the old WIF sensor in the fuel filter housing. If the plug is still plugged in, disconnect it by pusing down on the tab while pulling on the two ends of the connector.DIESEL-DRX7.5-23DWIF-Water-Fuel-Sensor-fig-12
  2. Plug one end of the wiring harness into the factory connector in the factory wiring harness on the driver side of the engine bay and feed the rest of the harness down the engine bay and along the driver-side frame rail. Use the supplied zip-ties to secure the harness away from any moving or hot parts such as steering components, exhaust, and driveshafts.   3. Plug the other end of the harness into the Water in the Fuel Sensor that was installed in the new water separator. A “Click” will be heard when properly connected. WARRANTY INFORMATION

1 YEAR LIMITED EXPRESS WARRANTY FOR 2007.5-2023 Cummins WIF Kit

DIESELRx (hereafter collectively, “SELLER”) warrants and guarantees only to the Original Purchaser (hereafter collectively, BUYER) that the DIESELRx 2007.5-2023 WIF KIT (hereafter collectively, PRODUCT) shall be free from defects of materials and workmanship in the manufacturing process for 1 (one) year from date of purchase.

The 1-Year Limited Express Warranty is limited to the PRODUCT purchased by the original BUYER of the PRODUCT and is limited solely to the parts contained within the PRODUCT and EXCLUDES ALL ELSE. Any PRODUCT that is in question of Warranty must be returned, shipped prepaid, to DIESEL Rx. All Warranty claims are subject to the approval of DIESELRx. If it is determined that a Warranty claim exists, DIESELRx will, at its sole discretion, replace the defective PRODUCT with a comparable PRODUCT, or repair the defective PRODUCT. Repairs or replacements are warranted for only the remainder of the original warranty period and only to the original BUYER.

Under no circumstances shall the SELLER be liable for any labour charged or travel time incurred in the diagnosis for defects, removal, or reinstallation of the PRODUCT, or any contingent expense. Under no circumstances will the SELLER be liable for any damage or expense incurred because of the use or sale of the PRODUCT. Other than expressly set forth herein, the SELLER shall in no way be responsible for the proper or improper use and service of the PRODUCT. In no event shall the SELLER be liable for any special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages of any kind or nature, whether or not the BUYER of the PRODUCT was advised of the possibility of damage or harm, arising or resulting from the use or performance of the PRODUCT and BUYER hereby waives the right to any such claims.

BUYER acknowledges that he/she is not relying on SELLER’S skill or judgment to select or furnish goods suitable for any particular purpose and that SELLER has no liability that will extend beyond the scope of the LIMITED EXPRESS WARRANTY contained herein, and BUYER hereby waives all remedies or liabilities, expressed or implied, arising by operation of law or otherwise. (including, without limitation, any obligation of SELLER concerning fitness for any particular purpose; merchantability; and special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages) or whether or not occasioned by SELLER’S negligence.

SELLER disclaims any warranty and expressly disclaims any liability for personal inquiry or damages related to BUYER’S use of the PRODUCT. BUYER acknowledges and agrees that the disclaimer of any liability for personal injury is a material term for this agreement and BUYER agrees to indemnify SELLER and hold SELLER harmless from any claim related to the PRODUCT and its use or performance. Under no circumstances will SELLER be liable for any damages, liabilities, costs or expenses incurred as a result of or because of the use, performance or sale of the PRODUCT, including without limitation, any damages, liabilities, costs or expenses incurred because of BUYER’S negligence related to those uses of the PRODUCT.

The proper installation of the PRODUCT is the sole responsibility of the BUYER. The SELLER assumes no liability regarding improper installation or misapplication of the PRODUCT. SELLER hereby provides the following limited warranty as to description, quality, merchantability, fitness for the PRODUCT’S purpose, productiveness, or any other matter of SELLER’S PRODUCT sold herewith. The SELLER shall be in no way responsible for the open use and service of the PRODUCT and the BUYER hereby waives all rights other than those expressly written herein. This Warranty shall not be extended or varied except by a written instrument signed by SELLER and BUYER.

IF THE BUYER DOES NOT AGREE WITH THIS AGREEMENT, THE BUYER MAY PROMPTLY RETURN THE PRODUCT, IN A NEW AND UNUSED CONDITION, WITH A DATED PROOF OF PURCHASE, TO THE PLACE OF PURCHASE WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE FOR A FULL REFUND. THE BUYER AGREES THAT THE INSTALLATION OF THIS PRODUCT CONFIRMS THE BUYER HAS READ AND UNDERSTANDS THIS AGREEMENT AND ACCEPTS THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT.
