*Includes attached o-rings, please do not discard. Additional Valve Block O-rings are also included.
Case Prep
- A. Unlock and remove the motor head.
- B. Unwrap all media. Rinse thoroughly.
- C. Place media in appropriate Filter Trays. Load-filled trays and Securing Plate.
- D. Replace the Motor Head. Close locking buckles. NOTE: Align intake nozzle and connector pipe.
- E. Attach the valve block to the motor head. The inlet will be on the right and the outlet on the left. lo lock the valve block turn the key clockwise and the reverse to unlock.

3. Close key cover
IMPORTANT:
The arrow on the handle should align with an arrow on the filter case.
Placement
- A. Place the canister filter under the aquarium in an accessible location. The top of the canister must be below the aquarium water level.
- DO NOT PLUG IN.
- B. Make sure the distance between the bottom of the filter and the top of the aquarium falls within these ranges:
IMPORTANT :
- Never use soap, abrasives or any other cleaning agent on or around the filter or aquarium.
- Never attempt to remove the Motor Head when the filter is in use.
- Never submerge the Motor Head.
Intake/Outlet Assembly
- A. Attach the strainer and suction cups (2) to the intake tube. Moisten suction cups and press the intake tube into position on the inside wall of the aquarium.
- B. Attach elbow, diffuser, and suction cup (1) to outlet tube. Moisten the suction cup and press the outlet tube into position on the outside wall of the aquarium.
Connection
- A. Attach vinyl tubing ends to valve hose barbs. Tighten Hose Nuts. Please make sure you have pushed the vinyl tubing down onto the hose barbs as far as possible to help make sure the hose nuts tighten properly.
- B. Extend hoses to the highest barbs on aquarium intake and outlet tubes. Allow for 2 inches of slack. Cut hoses to fit. Make sure you cut in a straight, smooth line with either tubing cutters or a sharp knife. Attach hoses to intake and outlet tubes. Place snapper clamps around the hose and tubes at fittings. Tighten snapper clamps.
Start-Up
- A. Press the Quick Prime button multiple times until the water starts to flow into the canister and back up towards the aquarium.
- B. Plug in the filter.
NOTE : If water flow through the Diffuser is not satisfactory, unplug the filter and check hose connections for obstruction or kinking.
NOTE : A slight rattling noise is normal ONLY DURING STARTUP. If the noise persists, shut off the filter and check for dirt or debris that may be in the bottom of the Canister.
NOTE : Drip Loop (for safety)
Filter Maintenance
To perform routine maintenance on your canister filter you should first unplug the filter. There is no need to remove the intake and outlet tubes or disconnect the hosing from the valve block. All you need to do is remove the valve block from the canister. To do clockwise. Lift the valve block from the canister
- Clean filter media regularly. Rinse with water from the aquarium. NOT TAP WATER.
- Clean impeller assembly cover and impeller monthly. Rinse thoroughly under warm tap water.
- Rinse filter foam every three weeks and replace it after nine weeks.
- Replace filter floss pads and carbon filter bags every month.
