PRONTO CAR KIT User Manual

PRONTO CAR KIT is a hands-free kit with Bluetooth® wireless technology. The integrated microphone and DSP filter to block out echo and background noise guarantee the very best in sound quality.

Bluetooth®

Bluetooth® technology allows wireless connection between your mobile phone and the PRONTO CAR KIT within a range of 10 meters.

About Bluetooth® Technology

Preliminary operations

• Insert PRONTO CAR KIT in the car cigarette lighter socket. When the LED begins to flash and emits a green light for 3 seconds, the device is ready for use.
• important: the adaptor supplied is recommended for a better fit with larger cigarette lighters

Turning the device on/off

• To turn on: Press the multifunction button (6) for 3 seconds until you hear an acoustic signal. The LED will begin to flash every 3 seconds.
• To turn off: Press the multifunction button (6) for 3 seconds until you hear an acoustic signal. The LED will stop flashing.

Pairing

Before using the device for the first time you must pair it.

• Insert the device in the cigarette lighter socket
• Turn off PRONTO CAR KIT
• Position your mobile phone 1m from PRONTO CAR KIT
• Hold the multifunction button down (6) for 6 seconds until the green LED light comes on
• Put the mobile phone in search mode for Bluetooth® devices (see your mobile phone instructions)
• Select PRONTO CAR KIT from the devices identified by the mobile phone
• E enter the passkey 0000 and press OK. If pairing has occurred correctly, an acoustic signal will be heard and the LED will start to flash every 3 seconds.

PRONTO CAR KIT is now ready to send and receive phone calls. Pairing should be completed within 2 minutes. If this does not occur, repeat the operation from the beginning.

Connecting your mobile phone

• Once it has been paired, the PRONTO CAR KIT will be in stand-by mode when it is inserted into the cigarette lighter socket. In order to connect it to your mobile phone just press the multifunction button (6) or select the device from the mobile phone menu (see mobile phone instructions). When unplugged, PRONTO CAR KIT will turn off automatically and the connection will be de-activated.
• ImportantPORTANT: In order to connect, the telephone must be within a 10-metre range of the hands-free device.

Use

• Answering:
  To answer a call, wait for the hands-free kit to ring and press the multifunction button (6); an acoustic signal will indicate that the line is open.

• Ending a call:
  Press the multifunction button (6); an acoustic signal will indicate that the line is closed.

• Refusing a call:
  When the hands-free kit begins to ring, press the multifunction button (6) for 3 seconds

• Dialing:
  To make a phone call, select and make the call directly from your mobile phone.

• Voice Dial:

  • If the mobile phone has a voice dial function, press the multifunction button (6); when you hear the beep, give the command as described in your mobile phone instructions.
  • ImportantPORTANT: voice dialing is only possible for mobile phones that support Bluetooth® (hands-free)

• Last number redial:
  Press the multifunction button (6) twice to call the last number dialed.

• Volume control:
  During the conversation, regulate the volume by using the volume switch (3).

Care and Maintenance

• Do not expose the car kit to liquid, moisture, or humidity, as it is not waterproof.
• Do not use abrasive cleaning solvents to clean the car kit.
• Do not place the car kit in high temperatures. Do not expose the car kit to contact with sharp objects as this will cause scratching and damage.
• Do not stick anything inside the car kit as this may damage internal components.
• Do not attempt to disassemble the car kit, as it does not contain serviceable components.
• If you do not use the car kit for long periods, be sure to store it in a dry place, free from extreme temperature, humidity, and dust.

Trouble Shooting

• If you are unable to connect your car kit and mobile handset, please try the following:
• Ensure your car kit is turned on and plugged into the cigarette lighter hole.
• Ensure the car kit is paired with your mobile handset.
• Ensure your mobile handset’s Bluetooth® feature is activated. Please refer to your mobile handset user guide for specific instructions.
• Ensure the car kit is within a maximum of 10 meters of your mobile handset(s) and there are no obstructions, such as walls or other electronic devices in between as it may cause shorter or interfere with transmission.
• If all the above steps do not resolve your problem, please remove your car kit from the cigarette lighter hole for a while.

PRONTO CAR KIT is compliant with and adopts the Bluetooth® Specification 1.2. However, interoperability between the device and other Bluetooth®-enable products is not guaranteed because it depends on compatibility. For more information on the compatibility between the device with other Bluetooth®-enabled products, please check with the manufacturer/importer.
