Product Usage Instructions
Before Using the Dock
- Connect the DC power adapter to the DisplayLink dock.
- Use the USB-C host interface of the dock to connect your laptop.
- Download and install the DisplayLink driver to ensure all media can be displayed normally.
Each Port Usage Reminder
DC IN
The docking station must connect the DC power adapter for it to work. Use
the USB-C to USB C cable to connect the USB-C to Host of the dock to your
laptop.
HDMI / Displayport
- When you connect the external monitor, there are two video output ports on”Display 3″ area, they cannot be connected simultaneously. Only one can be selected for connection.
- When the host connects the Thunderbolt 3/4, USB4 and other USB-C full-function ports on the laptop, can realize three different displays (Triple Display MST). Please refer to the page details page.
- HDMI (Display 1) and USB-C PD do not work when the dock’s USB-C host port is connected to the laptop’s USB-A port via an adapter

USB C / USB A
- USB 3.2 Gen1 ports only support data transmission, not charging and video output.
- USB 2.0 interface, support 480Mbps, can be connected with keyboard and mouse.
- The USB-C PD port can only charge laptops and does not support charging peripherals and video output.
Ethernet
Connect the RJ45 Port to reach a maximum internet speed of 1000Mbps. Your
computer, peripheral, cable, and driver must all support setup to 1000Mbps.
3.5mm Audio & Mic
- The 3.5mm Audio & Mic jack is in compliance with CITA/ OMTP standards. If your headsets/speakers are not CITA/OMTP standardized, a light but noticeable buzz sound will occur.
- And you use the audio jack when connecting with a MacOS laptop, for the first time, you may need to select “USB Audio System” in audio settings.
Notes For Docking Station About Display
- HDMI Ports and DisplayPort Ports do not support HDCP and cannot play HDCP content, including some Netflix and YouTube paid content. When using the above ports to play HDCP content, problems such as the video being unable to play, a black screen, and a significant drop in video resolution may occur.
- When the laptop is used with the lid closed or in sleep mode, the DisplayLink dock will automatically enter power saving mode and a black screen will appear. Don’t worry. You only need to reopen the laptop to enter the interface and unplug the host cable to resume normal use.
