SAFETY FEATURES

Our Electric Pressure Cooker is equipped with a multi-level safety and protection system. If the temperature or pressure inside the pot ever exceeds the safety limits, this system will automatically interrupt the cooking cycle and only resume once the pressure and temperature are back to normal levels.

  • Safety Lid Lock: Prevents accidental opening while the cooker is pressurized. Pressure will not build if the Lid is not shut correctly and has not sealed.
  • Steam Release Vent: This has an extended handle and is designed to keep hands away from the top of the valve. Use protective gloves or a utensil to prevent burns.
  • Excess Pressure Protection: Stop pressurizing while there is excess pressure to maintain safe pressure level.
  • Pressure Regulator Protection: Regulates pressure based on type of program being selected.
  • Automatic Pressure Control: Maintains a safe range of pressure levels.
  • Anti-Block Shield: The design prevents food debris from blocking the vent.
  • Lid Close Detection: Uses a magnetic sensor to monitor whether the Lid is in the Locked position for pressure cooking.
  • Automatic Temperature Control: Regulates temperature based on the type of program being selected.
  • Extreme Temperature & Power Protection: The fuse cuts off power to the cooker if the current or internal temperature exceeds safety limits.
  • High-Temperature Warning: The pressure cooker turns itself off with an error code on the LCD screen to avoid burning foods if the temperature is too high.

PARTS INSTRUCTIONS

PRESSURE RELEASE METHODS (MANUAL)

QUICK RELEASE

This method releases pressure in the form of steam in just a couple of minutes. When cooking has finished, you can release the built-up pressure manually by turning the Steam Release Handle to the “Venting” position. Always be cautious, protective gloves or a long utensil as a stream of hot steam will shoot out of the valves. Once steam no longer escapes from the vent and the Float Valve has dropped, you can now carefully open the Lid away from you. Be mindful of any remaining steam, water, or oil as these may cause bums.

NATURAL RELEASE

This method is much slower than the quick-release method. When cooking has finished, let the built-up pressure release on its own without turning the Steam Release Handle. This may take 10-40 minutes, or longer, depending on the amount of food in the cooker and the settings used. You may wish to leave the Cooker on the Keep Warm setting while pressure is released, or you can turn it off or unplug it so the contents will cool faster. Once the Float Valve drops down, you can now carefully open the Lid away from you. As a precaution, you can turn the Steam Release Handle to Venting to make sure all pressure has been completely released. Typically, using the quick release method after 10-15 minutes of natural release will have allowed enough time to pass so as not to affect the end result of the recipe.
