BASAL THERMOMETER TYPE DMT-3032
Instructions and warranty
Before use, read the instructions and warnings given in this handbook
carefully and keep the handbook in a safe place.
Basal thermometer with a large LCD display for easy reading. It measures body
temperature in 60-120 seconds. Fast and accurate fitted with a sound signal
when the temperature reading has been taken. Stores the last read temperature,
to evaluate any variations. Extremely easy to use, it is= kept in a practical
case to avoid risk of breaking. With flexible and automatic switching-off
function.

IP27: Degree of protection of electrical equipment covers, where the first figure indicates the degree of protection against penetration by solid foreign bodies (from 0 to 6) and the second figure the degree of protection against penetration by liquids (from 0 to 8).
GENERAL WARNINGS
- Self-measuring means control, not diagnosis and treatment, any unusual readings must be discussed with your doctor. Under no circumstances must you change the medicine doses that have been prescribed by your doctor.
- Do not squeeze, bend, drop, bite or break the thermometer.
- Keep it out of the reach of children.
- Do not expose to sunrays or direct sources of heat. Keep in a dry clean place.
- DO not immerse the thermometer in water or other liquids, only the probe is waterproof.
- Do not take the measurement when the thermometer is wet because the results could be inaccurate.
- This thermometer reads only the armpit, rectal or oral temperature. Do not use it for reading auricolar temperatures.
- Do not drink hot or cold drinks, do not smoke, do not take a shower before measuring body temperature.
- Do not use the thermometer orally after it was used rectally without disinfecting it first.
- For children under two years of age, do not use the thermometer orally.
- The device may give inaccurate readings if itis used in temperatures or humidity levels outside the limits indicated in the “Technical Specifications” paragraph.
- Do not use near strong magnetic fields and therefore Keep away from radio or mobile phone systems (for more information on interferences, see the paragraph Electromagnetic compatibility information).
- Choking Hazard: Thermometer cap and battery may be fatal if swallowed. Do not allow Children to use this device without parental supervision.
- Do not place thermometer battery near extreme heat as it may explode.

DIRECITIONS

Press the On/Off Button next to LCD display. A tone will sound as the screen shows 100.00., followed by last recorded temperature. After showing the self-test temperature, the thermometer is now in the testing mode.

Position thermometer in desired location (mouth, rectum, or armpit.)
- Oral Use: Place thermometer under tongue as indicated by “/” position shown in Figure. Close your mouth and breathe evenly through the nose to prevent the measurement from being influenced by inhaled/exhaled air. Normal temperature between 35.70°C and 37.30°C (96.26°F and 99.14°F).
- Rectal Use: Lubricate silver probe tip with petroleum jelly for easy insertion. Gently insert sensor approximately Icm (less than 1/2*) into rectum. Normal temperature between36.20°Cand 37.70°C (97.16°F and 99.86°F).
- Armpit Use: Wipe armpit dry. Place probe in armpit and keep arm pressed firmly at side.
From a medical viewpoint, this method will always provide inaccurate readings, and should not be used if precise measurements are required.

The degree sign flashes throughout the testing process. When flashing stops an alarm will beep for approximately 10 seconds. The measured
reading will appear on the LCD simultaneously. The minimum measurement time until the signaling tone (beep) must be maintained without
exception. The measurement continues even after the buzzer notification.
Note: Normally the buzzes are “Bi-Bi-Bi- Bi-; Alarm beeps more rapidly when temperature reaches 37.80°C (100.04°F) or higher, and the buzzes are” Bi- Bi-Bi–—- Bi-Bi-B¡—-—— Bi-Bi-Bi -
To prolong battery life, press the On/Off Button to turn unit off after testing is complete. If no action is taken, the unit will automatically shut off after around 10 minutes.
INSERTING/ REPLACING THE BATTERIES
- Pull the battery cover in the direction shown on the arrow. 2) Carefully extract the battery compartment to the right to ease the battery removal.
Use a pointed object to remove the old batteries. 3) Place the new batteries with the positive pole (+) pointed upwards and the negative pole pointed downwards. 4) Gently push the battery compartment into its seat and re- assemble the cover. Should the display show the symbol” “, it means that they have to be replaced. 5) Remove the used batteries as described under points 1 -2 and dispose of them as special waste at the collection points for recycling. For further information concerning the disposal of exhausted batteries, refer to the store where the device containing the batteries was purchased, the Municipality or the local waste disposal service. Caution: For safety reasons, it is recommended never to allow children younger than 12 years to remove the batteries.
TROUBLESHOOTING
MAINTENANCE
Clean the thermometer probe using a cloth moistened with alcohol or with any type of topic disinfectant before and/or after each use. Any other type of solution can damage the device. The thermometer body has to be cleaned using a dry cloth. Do not immerse the thermometer in water or other liquids. Never use chemical or abrasive products. The probe is the most fragile part of the thermometer. Pay utmost care during its cleaning. Do not use alcohol to clean the display. Preserve the thermometer in a dry and clean place, away from direct sunlight. Do not sterilize or boll the thermometer. Preserve the thermometer carefully In Its standard-supplied casing. Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the thermometer. Doing so may result In Inaccurate readings. It Is recommended the performance should be checked every 2 years.
DISPOSAL PROCEDURE
The symbol on the bottom of the device indicates the separated collection of electric and electronic equipment (Dir. 2012/19/Eu-WEEE). At the end of life of the device, do not dispose it as mixed solid municipal waste, but dispose it referring to a specific collection centre located in your area or returning it to the distributor, when buying a new device of the same type to be used with the same functions, if the appliance to be disposed of is less than 25 cm, it can be returned to a retail location that is over 40 m’ without having to purchase a new similar device. LIMITED WARRANTY
The thermometer is guaranteed for one year from the date of purchase. If the thermometer does not function properly due to defective components or poor workmanship, we will repair or replace it free of charge. All components are covered by this warranty excluding the battery. The warranty does not cover damages to your thermometer due to improper handling. To obtain warranty service, an original or copy of the sales receipt from the original retailer is required.
