How to Season a Cast Iron Pan

【Please wear oven mitts throughout to avoid burns】

  • Clean with water: please clean the pan with warm water and soft brush for the first time.
  • Hot pan drying: dry the cleaned cast iron pan on the heat source with medium and small heat.
  • Pour in cooking oil: confirm that the pan is dry, turn the fire source to a small fire, and pour the cooking oil over the bottom of the pan, and evenly spread the cooking oil with kitchen paper towels.
  • Even baking: cooking oil after daubing, with a small fire baking about 15 minutes, on the way can be timely change the pan heat Angle, so that each place of the pan are even baking.

Cast Iron Pan Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Please use warm water with sponge, bristle brush cleaning.

Precautions for Use of Cast Iron Pan

  • Initial use will have black chip drop, black chip for carbonized plant oil layer, does not contain harmful substances.
  • Suitable for gas furnace, induction furnace, black crystal furnace (halogen furnace), electric pantery stove, oven, not suitable for microwave oven.
  • Cast iron pan can withstand oven temperature of 250 degrees Celsius.

  • Cast iron pan has good thermal insulation effect, please wear gloves and pay attention to the handle temperature when handling.
  • Cast iron pan is not dry easy to rust, need to deal with the rust before continuing to use. When rusting, please scrub gently with a scouring pad (do not use such tools when not rusting) to remove the rust spans, and then re-boil the pan after cleaning.
