    Description Of Parts

Suggestions before using the iron for the first time

  • Certain parts of the iron have been lightly greased. Therefore the iron could give off a little smoke when plugged in for the first time. This will cease after a short while.
  • Before using the iron for the first time, remove the plastic protector from the base (if it has one). Clean the base with a soft cloth.
  • Keep the base very smooth. Do not run it over metal objects (such as against the ironing board, buttons, zips, etc.)
  • Pure wool fibres (100% wool) can be ironed with the appliance in the steam position. By preference, select a high steam position and use a dry ironing cloth.

USE INDICATION

Selecting the temperature

  • Check the ironing instructions on the garment to be ironed.
  • If the garment does not have any ironing instructions, you may refer to Table 1 .
  • Fabrics that have some kind of finish (polishing, wrinkles, contrasts …. ) can be ironed at the lowest temperatures .
  • If the fabric contains several kinds of fibres, always select the applicable temperature. If an article contains 60% polyester and 40% cotton, you must always choose the temperature corresponding to polyester and without steam.
  • First sort out the articles to be ironed according to the type of fabric: wool with wool, cotton with cotton, etc. As the iron heats up as fast as it cools, start by ironing the articles requiring the lowest temperature such as those made of synthetic fibres and progress towards those that require the highest temperatures.
  • Turn the temperature knob to the appropriate signal according to the following:

Symbol| | |
---|---|---|---
Fabric| Position for nylon and acetate| Position for wool, silk or mixtures| Position for cotton or linen (steam)
Temp.| 0 …… ………………………. ………………………………. ………….. MAX
Variable steam| ✖| ✖| ✔
Steam shot| ✖| ✖| ✔
Spraying water| ✔| ✔| ✔
| This article cannot be ironed!

NOTE

  • ” ✓ ” stands for being able to use.
  • ” x ” stands for being NOT able to use.

Ironing tips

  • Always check first whether a label with ironing instructions is attached to the article. Follow these ironing instructions in any case.
  • The iron heats up quicker than cooling it down, therefore, you should start ironing the articles requiring the lowest temperature such as those made of nylon or acetate.
  • If the fabric consists of various kinds of fibres, you must always select the lowest ironing temperature to iron the composition of those fibres.
  • Silk and other fabrics that are likely to become shiny should be ironed on the inner side. To prevent staining do not spray water straight on silk or other delicate fabrics.
  • Velvet and other textures that rapidly become shiny should be ironed in one direction with light pressure applied. Always keep the iron moving at any moment.
  • Pure woolen fabrics (100% wool) may be ironed with the iron set a steam position. Preferably set steam selector to the maximum position and use a dry cloth as a mat.

NOTE

When ironing woolen fabrics, shining of the fabric may occur. So it is suggested that you should turn the article inside out and iron the reverse side.
