Product Usage Instructions

Loading the Labels
  1. Drop the empty takeup core down the back of the printer.
  2. Load the unused roll of labels in the back of the printer.
  3. Pull the takeup core forward and up, then load it in the front of the printer.
  4. Centre the labels on the yellow supply spindle and place the wing guides on either side.
  5. Tighten the yellow label sensor/guides so they are snug but do not bind the label stock.
  6. Ensure that the labels lay flat across the top of the grey platen roller and metal tear-off bar.
  7. The label sensor (yellow guides toward the front) should be snug to the label strip without binding.
  8. Note: For gap labels, make sure the right side of the label sensor is positioned over the label. If the sensor is too far away from the label, it may not be able to detect the gaps between labels.
Loading the Ribbon

Front View

  1. Insert the black spindles through the cardboard cores from the
    right, ensuring that the spindle lip is on the right side.

  2. Drop the used/takeup spool down through the housing.

  3. Mount the unused ribbon roll at the back of the printer.

Side View

  1. Pull the used/takeup spindle forward and up.
  2. Mount it at the front of the printer.
  3. Wind up any slack by rotating the spindle clockwise (viewing the printer from the right).

Print Head and Platen Roller
The print head is responsible for transferring ink from the ribbon to the label through thermal transfer or darkening coated labels or tags through direct thermal printing. The platen roller is located below the print head and ensures smooth feeding of labels.

When using gap labels (the most common type), if this sensor is too far away from the label, the sensor component will not be able to see the gaps between labels, and the DiagTool will report the Media Sensor as Continuous instead of the correct GAP value when auto-calibrating, and the printer will eject many labels during the calibration process.
