• 1x) 3/16” Pilot Drill Bit
• 1x) Torx T25 Driver

Skyline Shallow Notch Reinforcers when installed according to instructions are designed to restore the full strength of dimensional lumber joists assuming the following

Patent Pending

• Maximum floor dead load is 12psf and maximum live load is 40psf (PSF = Pounds per square foot).

• The Notch height and width do not exceed 3” depth and 6” width.

• The joist spacing is 16” on center or less (if greater that 16” o.c. The Notch Reinforcer is still beneficial and may restore
  full strength to the joist depending on the length of the joist span (Please contact us for further information). NOTE: Skyline SNR, HR and NR Hole may be used on 2×12’s.

• The joist sizing and span is in accordance with good engineering practices and/or tables provided in the building code.

• The Shallow Notch Reinforcer may be installed with Notch cut either up (compression) or down (tension).

Installation Instructions

1. Center Web Plate on the Notch aligned with the top or bottom of the Joist and mark all hole locations.
2. Construction adhesive is not necessary but does increase repair strength.
3. Pre-drill all marked hole locations using the provided 3/16” drill bit. Drill holes as straight as possible to minimize stress on the head of the fasteners.
4. Align Web Plate with holes and fasten in place starting from the bottom up using only the provided fasteners.
   

Steel is HEAVY, and SHARP.

Drilling and driving fasteners overhead can cause particles of steel and wood to fall into your eyes. Wear EYE PROTECTION.
