PUTTING CIGAR OASIS II XL TO WORK

CONGRATULATIONS!! You now possess the most precise, most technologically advanced cigar humidification system available in the world today, CIGAR OASIS II XL. It will keep your cigars at the desired relative humidity indefinitely for your smoking pleasure. CIGAR OASIS II XL will keep your cigars “Always Fresh”. Just follow these few simple instructions for installing CIGAR OASIS II XL in your humidor or display case. Give your cigars a few days to bask in their newfound perfect environment. Then sit back, relax, and enjoy the cigars as you’ve never enjoyed them before.

INSTALLATION & OPERATION

Remove the unit from box, which consists of the Cigar Oasis Humidifier and Remote Display.
With a damp cloth, wipe off any trace of green crystalline material (mold retardant) which may have shaken loose during shipment onto the humidifier.
Place the unit either in the middle of your case or against the back so that there can be free unobstructed flow of air through the unit. Air enters the unit just below the white filling plug and exits from the other end where the flap rises. DO NOT REMOVE plastic
flaps as they seal the unit to avoid moisture buildup. Do not obstruct this flow. The black flap that comes in plastic must be inserted into the rear of the unit where the top and bottom halves of the unit meet. The short edge is inserted into the slit with the Cigar
Oasis label facing the fans. This piece acts as a deflector to guide moisture upward and out.
Remove the “Remote Display” unit and mount on a desired location for easy visibility. Plug the end of the cable on the top of the humidifier in the appropriate receptacle.
Remove the white filling plug to expose the filler opening.
Slowly pour approximately 50 liquid ounces of pure distilled water into the filler opening. The easiest way to both measure and add water is to pour the water from a measuring cup. DO NOT USE TAP WATER, USE

DISTILLED WATER ONLY

Replace the filler plug. Do not leave this plug off, otherwise, air will flow out of the opening and the unit will operate poorly.
Plug the power supply into the nearest 110-volt outlet.
Plug the power supply jack to its mate located on top left side of unit. The green light should turn on and the fans running.
On the “Remote Display” adjust set point by pressing JJ.. to increase and T to decrease set point. A few seconds after release, the unit will go back to digitally measure and display the humidity.
Close your humidor or display case and leave the unit running.
When the green light turns off, the unit is at the set point. You may adjust the set point up or down on the “Remote Display” unit if you wish to use an alternate hygrometer at a different location on the cabinet. Note: Make adjustments only in small increments at a time and allow at least an hour for the hygrometer to come to its stable reading. CIGAR OASIS II XL responds very rapidly to even very small changes in humidity, while most external hygrometers, even the digital units, respond very slowly.
When you believe you have the correct setting, wait several hours, recheck, and make any final adjustments. You should not have to change the setting again.

Alarm indication is provided when the reading is flashing continuously. This is set to trigger when the unit runs continuously for two hours 5% below the set point. This means you either need to refill with water or a major leak exists in the humidor.

ADDING WATER

The need for additional water is indicated on the “Remote Display” unit where the reading will start flashing if the unit cannot reach the set point and is below 65% humidity for two or more hours. This indicates it is running out of water or the humidor is not sealed.

To add water, remove the white filler plug.
Using a suitable two-liter bottle or container, slowly add distilled water only until the water level is about 1/8 inch below the filler opening. DO NOT USE TAP WATER AND DO NOT OVERFILL.
Replace the filler plug.

OPTIONAL AUXILIARY FANS KIT

Large display cases may require additional auxiliary fans to eliminate humidity gradients (dry zones) in the case and provide optimum performance. The CIGAR OASIS II XL does not include auxiliary fans, they are optionally available.

To install the fan proceed as follows:

Attach the fans with double-backed tape or “Velcro” fasteners typically at the top of the cabinet on both sides which promote a circular motion of air through the cabinet. Plug the fan cable jack into the receptacle marked AUX FAN on the “Remote Display unit”, and the fans will turn on.
Also don’t forget CIGAR OASIS XL PLUS for your mid-size humidors and CIGAR OASIS XL for your smaller personal humidor.
