Loading the Grease cartridge into the gun

  • Remove the barrel (6) from the Gun head (1)

  • Pull back the Sprung pull rod (7) as far as it will go, (this will automatically lock in its extended position)

  • Remove the plastic cap(8) from the grease cartridge(9)

  • Insert the grease cartridge(9) into the barrel

  • Remove the foil seal from the cartridge top

  • Refit the Barrel(6) with the fitted cartridge( back into the gun head(1)

  • Release the locking lever (7) at the base of the barrel(6) this will then pressurize the grease into the gun head

Greasing

Wipe clean the grease fitting and the tip of the nozzle, connect the nozzle, and then reciprocate the lever. If grease is charged normally, old grease is pushed out from the groove or clearance near the fitting. For the amount of grease to charge, refer to the instruction manual for the target machine, or charge the machine with new grease until old grease is completely pushed out.

Connecting the nozzle to the Grease nipple

Fig 1. Push the nozzle vertically onto the fitting until it grips the fitting, then start greasing.

GREASING A GREASE NIPPLE

The grease coupler provided at the end of the grease gun extension has a jaw type construction.
The coupler jaws will snap on to a grease nipple and maintain a tight fit.

When connecting the coupler to the grease fitting, press the coupler straight onto the grease fitting to form a snug fit. Start operating the grease gun with the coupler as square to the grease fitting as possible.

Once greasing is completed, slightly tilt the grease nipples nozzle, twist and pull back. The tilt and twist action will allow easy removal of the grease nipple nozzle from the grease fitting.

WARNING
Never try to dis-engage the grease coupler by pulling it out straight (Fig 1) Tilt the grease coupler as in (fig 2) to remove it.

Note: If however you still have a problem removing the nozzle from the grease nipple you can release the pressure of the clamping action by unscrewing the nozzle several turns from its main body, do not unscrew all the way or the clamping mechanism will fall away from the body.

Maintenance

Although the grease gun does not require special routine maintenance check, be careful not to introduce foreign material into grease. As the fitting at the lubrication inlet gathers dirt and sand, keep it clean along with the grease gun.

Trouble shooting

Grease may not come out easily when you use the grease gun for the first time due to Air trapped in the gun head, In that case, be sure to fully open or close the lever, applying some extra pressure to the sprung rod end (7) will assist in removing the initial air within the head.
Note: that operating the lever halfway through the stroke cannot draw grease in the grease cylinder.
