• DO NOT force the equipment. Use the correct equipment for your application. The correct equipment will work better and be safer at the rate for which it was designed.
• When the cut is completed, switch off the equipment and then pull the guide bar out of the cut only after it has come to a standstill. By this manner, you can avoid kickback and can place down the equipment securely. -
Important warnings while using the chainsaw
• When cutting wood with the chainsaw, the chain guard may continue to swing up and down, which is anormal phenomenon, nota fault problem.
• Use extreme caution when cutting brush and saplings. The slender material may catch the Saw chain and be whipped toward you or pull you off balance.
• Cut wood only. DO NOT use chainsaw for purposes not intended. For example: do not use chainsaw for cutting metal, plastic, masonry or non-wood building materials. Use of the chainsaw for operations different than intended could result in a hazardous situation.
• Never bend the chainsaw guide bar.
• If the chain stuck in the gap of guide bar, turn the equipment off, widen the sawing gap slightly with a suitable tool and pull the equipment out.
• Disconnect the battery pack from the equipment before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the equipment. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the equipment accidentally. -
Important details after using the chainsaw
• Follow instructions for lubricating, chain tensioning and changing the chain.
• When broken bark or other objects accidentally stuck in the chain, you could clear jammed material.
Before the clearing, please make sure the switch is off and the battery pack is removed. And to prevent accidental cuts, please wear protective gloves.
• When you want to replace the chain with another new chain, make sure the switch is off and the battery pack is removed before replacing it. To prevent accidental cuts, please wear protective gloves.
• DO NOT attempt to repair the chainsaws. To assure product safety and reliability, repairs, maintenance, and adjustments should be performed by pro- workers.
• MAINTAIN CHAINSAW WITH CORRECT CARE. Keep chainsaw clean for best and safest performance.
• STORE IDLE UNITS. When not in use, the chainsaw should be stored in a dry, high or locked-up place, out of reach of children. -
How to remove the chain
• Loosen the Bar Tightening Knob counterclockwise and remove the Sprocket Cover.
-
How to install the chain guide bar
• First install the chain into the guide bar, and the insert drive links into the groove of guide bar.
Please note the direction of the cutting teeth.
• Install the Sprocket Cover, rotate the Bar Tightening Knob counterclockwise until it is tight. -
How to adjust the tightness of the chain
Step-by-step guidelines:
1. PULL OUT THE BATTERY from the chainsaw. This will prevent any accidents from your chainsaw accidentally starting.
2. Loosen the Bar Tightening Knob.
3. As shown the below figure below, twist the Chain Tensioning knob clockwise to tension the chain, counterclockwise is for loosening.
NOTE:
If the chain is too tight: there will be more friction so it will wear the chainsaw guide bar and consume battery faster, and it is easier to activate the mechanism of over current protection and shut down the chainsaw.
If the chain is too loose: then sometimes the chain can fall out during use.
4. There should be more slack between the chain and the Guide Bar before tightening the Bar Tightening Knob, because the rotation of the Chain Tensioning Knob will be driven by the rotation of the Bar Tightening Knob, thus affecting the chain’s tightness.
5. As marked in the figure below, a rule of thumb is adjusting the Chain Tensioning Knob until only three drive links are entirely out of the guide bar rails. Then rotate clockwise to tighten the Bar Tightening Knob and ensure the Sprocket Cover is installed securely.
6. When the chain springs back after being pulled 1/8” (3 mm) away from the guide bar with light force, the tension is correct.
NOTE:
• The new chain will be stretched in the early stage of use. Please check and adjust to the appropriate tension frequently, because the loose chain is easy to derail, which may lead to rapid wear of the chain and guide bar, and the over-strained chain will reduce cutting efficiency, and could be worn out, leads to reducing service life.
• The chain must be stuck to the sprocket. After installation, please check it again. -
How to oil the chain
• Frequent maintenance of the chain can increase the life of the chain and improve cutting efficiency.
• The oil bottle(oil not included) was designed to be easily carried around.
• You can purchase specialized chain oil at many places, such as home and garden stores, big box stores, engine shops and hardware stores.
NOTE:
• Never use waste oil or very thick oil. These may DAMAGE your chain saw.
• Mineral oil is not recommended because it may HARM TREES.
• The use of a vegetable-based bar and chain oil is recommended when pruning trees.
• Asa temporary substitute, a non-detergent SAE30 weight motor oil can be used.
Step-by-step guidelines:
- PULL OUT THE BATTERY from the chainsaw.
This will prevent any accidents from your chainsaw accidentally starting. - Place your chainsaw on a flat surface.
Dropping could damage your chainsaw and possibly cause an injury to you. - If you used your chainsaw a moment ago, let your chainsaw cool down first. The hot guide bar of chainsaw could possibly cause serious scald to you.
- No need to unscrew the chain or open the Sprocket Cover, drip a few drops of oil in the gap between the chain and guide bar.
- Replacement chain
As the number of times of use increases, the chain will be inevitably worn out. Using a dull chainsaw chain could cause serious accidents to you and your machine. There are several signs that show if your chainsaw chain is worn out:
• The chain comes off frequently
• There is smoke while using your chainsaw.
• Some teeth of the chain are missing.
• The chain is chipped.
• The chain is rusted.
• You cannot cut through wood as well as you would have expected.
Properly oiling keeps it functional. However, over time, for your own safety and better cutting performance, you’d better replace the chain as it will wear out all the time:
- You can buy our chains on SEYVUM’s Amazon homepage.
- If the chain sold on SEYVUM’s Amazon homepage is sold out, or you are not
convenient for online shopping, you can purchase replacement chain at many
places, such as home and garden stores, big box stores, engine shops and
hardware stores.
NOTE:
• Unsuitable replacement chain may cause probably malfunction in the chainsaw.
• When you are buying the replacement chains in those places mentioned-above, PLEASE EMPHASIZE THE STANDARD DATA of the replacement chain to the service personnel:| 1/4 INCHES
