Adjusting The Strap

Use a Professional
All our wooden straps are made with removable links that make the strap fully adjustable to fit any wrist size. We highly recommend taking the watch to a professional jeweler in order to adjust the strap to minimize potential damage to the watch. Incorrect removal of the band will violate the 1-year manufacturer warranty.

At Home
If you decide to adjust your strap at home using a TruWood Watch Link Removal Tool (or other), then please make sure you remove the pins in the direction of the diagram to the right and re-insert them in the opposite direction on the same side:

General Care

Water: Avoid When Possible
Although our watches are splash proof (small contact with water) it is best practice to avoid water when possible. Overtime, water can penetrate the wood and leave stains. Swimming, showering or submerging your watch under water is not recommended.
Polishing & Cleaning
To polish your new watch, apply 2 sprays of water or olive oil to the cleaning cloth provided and gently rub the cloth over the wooden parts ofthe watch 3-4 times.

Displays & Buttons

Setting The Time
The normal position for the crown is pushed in all the way.

  1. Remove the plastic knob stopper between the crown and the case.
  2. Pull the crown until it pops out to the 2nd click position.
  3. Turn the crown to set the hour and the minute hands.
  4. Once the time has been set, push the crown back into the normal position. The second hand will begin to run.

The moon dial represents the age of the moon. The actual shape of the moon during each phase is not represented. Use the moon dial indication as a guide to the age or phase of the moon.
Setting age of the moon

  1. Check online or other source that lists the current age of the moon.
  2. Referring to above chart, set the moon dial to the age (0, 7, 15 or 22) closest to that index position.
  3. More accurate settings can be made at the time of the new moon (0) or full moon (15).

Setting procedure

  1. Pull the crown out to the 1st click position.
  2. Turn the crown clock-wise to set the moon dial.
  3. After the moon dial has been set, push the crown back to Normal Position.

Swapping the Watch Strap
Your Founder’s watch comes with a replacement vegan leather strap. Here’s how to swap it in from the default wood link band.
Removing the Wood Link Band

  1. Lay watch face down on a towel. Using a thin pick tool (or similar) insert the end into the small gap right under the case back, where the spring bar is visible to catch the shoulder (ridge) of the spring bar.
  2. Depress the spring bar by applying pressure with the tool towards the watch band. When the spring bar is clear of the lug, that side of the band will drop down and out of the watch case.
  3. Rotate watch around and repeat these steps to the other side of the watch band. The watch is now ready for the vegan leather replacement strap.

Attaching the Leather Strap

  1. Keep your watch laying face down. Install the buckle side strap on the top of the watch (at 12 o’clock). Insert one end of the spring bar into the hole on the watch lug.
  2. Depress the other end of the spring bar by applying pressure towards the strap with the pick tool or your fingers on the protruding spring shoulder on the underside of the strap. Slide spring bar inside the hole of the watch lug. Make sure both ends of the spring bar securely snap into their holes.
  3. Repeat these steps to install the point side strap, which goes on the bottom of the watch (at 6 o’clock). Now you’re all done!

NOTE: Do NOT use this tool for adjusting the wood link band length (like on page 1). This does not act as a watch link removal tool.

1-Year Limited Manufacturer Warranty

TruWood offers a one year warranty from the date of purchase on all internal parts of the watch which are related to the time-keeping mechanism.
The warranty does not cover accidental damage to the band, case or glass of the watch. Damage that occurs due to incorrect removal of the links from the band is also not covered by the warranty.
If you have any special circumstances, please shoot us an email at info@mytruwood.com and we will do our best to accommodate you. We’re human too!
