MACHINE OVERVIEW
MONEY DETECTOR OPERATION AND FUNCTION
POWER SUPPLY
- DC Power : Connect the power adapter to a 110V or 220V outlet, then connect the terminal to the machine’s DC12V input socket.
- Lithium Battery ( optional ): When the battery is fully charged, the machine can work without a power adapter.
TURNING THE MACHINE ON/OFF, AND STANDBY MODE
- To turn on the machine, press the “ON/OFF” button: The Power indicator will light up blue and the machine will start self-testing.
- The display screen will show the software version then the detection information: the currency at the top left (EUR, GBP or USD, the 3 tests (UV, MG and IR), the direction of note validation and battery level. The 0 in the centre of the screen shows the number of notes counted. The 0 at the bottom of the screen shows the total amount verified. The detector is ready to use.
- To turn off the machine, press the “ON/OFF” button for around 2 seconds until you hear a beep, then release the button. When the power button and the screen switch off, your detector is turned off.
- The detector goes into standby mode after 3 minutes without use: the screen turns off and only the blue light of the ON/OFF button will stay lit.
- The device can be brought out of standby mode by pressing any button or by inserting a note into the hopper.
- If the machine is inactive again for more than 5 minutes, it will automatically turn itself off.
FUNCTION OF THE MONEY DETECTOR BUTTONS
CUR/DIR:
- This button enables you to select the currency of the notes you wish to verify (short press) and to change the direction of the validation (long press).
- To change currencies, short press the button: from EUR to GBP, from GBP to USD or from USD to EUR.
- To choose the exit direction of banknotes, hold down the button for 3 seconds until you hear a beep: the indicator arrow at the top right of the screen will change direction.
- If the arrow is pointing upwards your genuine banknotes will exit via the top of the detector and the counterfeit notes will come towards you.
- If the arrow is pointing downwards your genuine banknotes will come towards you and counterfeit notes will exit via the top of the detector.
CAUTION!! To ensure an optimal detection of your banknotes, remember to place your note on the right side of the hopper. Hold the button for about 2 seconds to clear the records. When you’ve finished running banknotes, press “REP/CLR” to enter report mode. In report mode, each click of the “REP/CLR” button will show a tally for the number of bills of each denomination that have been run through the machine. When you’ve finished checking the record, the detector will automatically exit report mode when you feed another banknote into the machine.
REP / CLR : This button enables you to check the number of notes of each denomination that you have verified (short press) and to delete these records (long press).
- Short press the button to change the display to see the number of notes of each denomination: the central space then shows the details of each previous denomination, and the total amount is always displayed at the bottom right of the screen.
- You can check your banknotes with this display, the number of denominations will increase automatically.
- Hold down the button for 3 seconds until you hear a beep to reset the notes counted to 0. This reset works with the note count display (default screen) and with the denomination details display.
INSERTING THE BANKNOTE CORRECTLY
CAUTION! The insertion of banknotes is paramount for avoiding detecting mistakes! If a note is inserted incorrectly, the machine will refuse it and will alert you.
- It’s essential that banknotes be placed on the right-hand side of the device and that they pass through the device without going to one side for the detection to be valid.
- If the banknote is not placed flush to the right-hand side or if it passes through the hopper diagonally, you will see an error message.
- Flatten the bill well before inserting it.
- Please insert the banknotes as shown in the photo on the right.
- Please avoid inserting the banknotes incorrectly as shown in the photos below.
DETECTION
If the banknote is genuine, it will exit the hopper in the selected exit direction (indicated by an arrow at the top right of the screen). Then, the number of notes displayed (in the centre of the screen) will increase by one unit and the value of the note will be added to the total amount displayed at the bottom right of the screen (see figure 1). When the number of notes exceeds 999 (displayed in the centre of the screen) or the total amount exceeds 9999 EUR or GBP or USD (displayed at the bottom right), these values will automatically reset to 0.
If the banknote is suspicious, it will exit the hopper in the OPPOSITE direction to the one selected (indicated by an arrow at the top right of the screen), the detector will beep 3 times and will display the corresponding error code on the screen (see figure 2).
You will find an explanatory video on the use of your money detector on our website: www.zenacasa.com/bill-detector
TROUBLESHOOTING
SELF TEST ERROR CODE DISPLAY
The detector automatically performs a self test after powering on. If one of
the following codes is displayed on the screen, it is likely that the detector
is blocked by banknotes or dust. Please use a soft brush or cloth to clean the
dust from the sensor or remove the banknotes, then restart the machine.
C1 | The code disc is defective |
---|---|
C2 | The feeding sensor is defective |
C3 | The left IR penetrating sensor is defective |
C4 | The right IR penetrating sensor is defective |
C5 | The bottom left IR reflection is defective |
C6 | The bottom right IR reflection is defective |
C7 | The upper left IR reflection is defective |
C8 | The upper right left IR reflection is defective |
C9 | The 850nm IR sensor is defective |
C10 | The 960nm IR sensor is defective |
C11 | The left MG sensor is defective |
C12 | The right MG sensor is defective |
ERROR CODES DISPLAY DURING DETECTION
**** If one of the following error codes is displayed on the screen during
detection, you can refer to the table below to resolve the problem. The main
cause of repeated errors in detection is incorrect insertion of banknotes.
Please check first of all that you place the note you wish to insert flush to
the right-hand side of the device, as shown in section n°4.
If the errors persist, you can recalibrate the detectors by following the steps below:
- Before turning on the mahine, hold down the CUR/DIR button and press the ON/OFF button: the screen will go into calibration mode.
- Open the hopper, prepare a piece of white paper and fold it so that it fits in the tray and covers the detectors. Close the tray over the piece of paper.
- Hold down the REP/CLR button until the display shows the beginning of calibration. Wait until the calibration is finished, then remove the piece of paper and turn off the machine.
- Turn on the machine normally with the ON/OFF button.
IMPORTANT NOTICES
If the machine shows errors or works abnormally, check the following things:
- The main power supply is within the specified range (AC 100V-240V/50-60Hz).
- The DC output is within the specified range: DC 12V+5%.
- The power cable is plugged in correctly.
- The built-in battery is sufficiently charged for use.
- There is no dust on the sensors.
- You have performed the recalibration procedure.
If a banknote becomes stuck while it is being detected, open the top cover and remove the banknote to detect it again. Smooth out each banknote before detection. Each banknote must be placed straight and flush to the right-hand side of the hopper during insertion.
MAINTENANCE
- This machine is a piece of precise financial detecting equipment that needs periodic maintenance.
- Periodically check the voltage of the power supply to ensure that the voltage is within the specific range.
- Keep the banknote detector in a well-ventilated place and away from direct sunlight or magnetic fields.
- Periodically clean the sensors: use a piece of cotton within a small amount of alcohol to clean all sensors, rubber wheels, and rubber belt. Keep the surface of sensors away from sharp and hard articles to avoid damage.
- Do not attempt to disassemble the detector.
UPDATING THE DEVICE
The software can be updated via the USB port, by visiting www.zenacasa.com
and downloading the latest version of the software. It will need to be
installed onto your detector using a USB stick (not provided). Transfer the
software to the USB stick then plug it into the USB port on the device.
