Trouble Shooting Guide

  • The M7300 is expertly designed and built to provide two years of trouble-free performance.
  • Most problems that occur can usually be solved by checking your setup or making sure that the audio and video components connected to the amplifier are on and fully operational.
  • The following information will help you deal with common setup problems you may experience during no­rmal use of your unit. If problems persist, contact your UandK Sound Dealer for help.

M7300 Front Panel Features

  1. STANDBY/ACTIVE Button
    • Turn on or turn off the M7300 by touching this button when the”ON/TRIGGER” switch at·ON”.
    • This button has no function when the”ON/TRIGGER” switch at “TRIGGER”.See the feature of “Power Mode’,
  2. Amplifier Display
    • a. BLUE LIGHT – Power Mode is on
    • b. Red LIGHT – This indicates a fault condition. The fault condition is one or more of the following:
    • Excessive Operating Temp:
    • Excessive Current(Short Circuit):
    • DC on the output
    • c. Dull-Red Light -Standby mode.

INSTA LLATION-GETTING CONNECTED

  • CAUTION: All connections and switching must be done with the amplifiers power switch positioned to”off”,
  • Connect the power cord last lo be S1Jre that the amplifier Is off during all of your connections and set up.

M7300 Rear Panel Features

  1. Inputs Selector Switch

    • a. “UNBAL “is a female RCA Input provided to receive unbalanced audio sources.
    • b. The M7300 features XLR Input. Select “BAL” when it connects to a balanced XLR signal.
    • NOTES: Choose “UNBAL” or “BAL” for every audio channel.Cannot use XLR cables in, with RCA out, or the converse situation. There is no direct internal connection between RCA and XLR Inputs.
  2. Unbalanced RCA Input

    • Connect to the unbalanced RCA output of the preamplifier and turn the switch to “UNBAL”.
      NOTES: Many RCA-type patch cords can be very tight fit and some have to be removed by twisting action.
  3. Balanced XLR Input

    • Connect to the balanced XLR output of the preamplifier and turn on “BAL” mode.
    • NOTES: A balanced connection offers superior noise Immunity over an unbalanced RCA connection. Use balanced
    • XLR connection whenever possible.
    • On the balanced XLR connector, the wiring is as follows:
  4. Power Mode

    • a. ON-Always On.
    • b. In the TRIGGER(Down) position, the M7300’s ON and OFF functions are controlled by a trigger from a source or preamplifier device(Use the 118″ mono jack to connect). The trigger accepts 5-30V AC/DC and will turn the M7300 on whenever a trigger is present. When there is no trigger, the amplifier goes into standby mode.
  5. Speaker Outputs

    • a. Connect the speaker wires to the Binding Posts.
    • NOTE: Red is Positive and Black is Negative.
    • b. Use either Bare Speaker Wire 0t Banana Plugs to terminate the speaker wire.
    • NOTE: The total average impedance of the speaker(s) should be no less than 3 ohms per channel. You must make sure that the lower impedance does not cause M7300 to overheat, shut down, or blow the line fuse. or pop your circuit breaker.
  6. AC Power

    • a. Power Switch: When the switch is·-· position, the idle mode is activated. This mode can be turned off by turning the switch to the •o• position.
    • b. IEC Line Cord Socket: Input voltage requires a range of 95-132VAC or 195-264VAC (switch inside).
    • Use the correct IEC line cord, plug the line cord into an AC wall socket which is correctly configured with the voltage and current supply specified for M7300. Do not plug this line cord into a power trip, it must plug directly into a wall soc­ket with grounding.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to or near rain or moisture.

  1. Read and keep these instructions for future reference.

  2. Do not use this apparatus near water.

  3. Clean only with a dry cloth.

  4. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

  5. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators. heat registers. stoves or other apparatus( including amplifiers) that produce heat.

  6. Do not override the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades, one wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety, If the provided plug does not fit Into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.

  7. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at the plug, convenience receptacles, and the point where it exits from the apparatus.

  8. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

  9. Use only with an earl stand, or tripod. bracket or table specified by the
    manufacturer. or sold with the apparatus. When the cart is used, use caution
    when moving the car apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.

  10. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for a long period of time.

  11. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way. such as when the power supply cord or plug is damaged. liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operated normally. or has been dropped.

  12. To completely disconnect this equipment from the AC mains, disconnect the power supply cord plug from the AC receptacle.

Trouble Shooting

No audio output|

  • Speaker cables may have come undone. Tum off your system check the cables, and tighten the amplifier and speaker binding posts.
  • Damaged audio cable.
  • The amplifier volume level is low for the channels concerned. Recheck the preamplifier calibration procedure.
  • The amplifier is in In standby mode, and needs to be turned on”BLUE LED”.
  • Check-in case any missing channels have been turned off in a preamplifier setup menu. For example, the center amplifier channel will not receive a signal if the preamplifier has been set to”Phantom.’
  • The ON/TRIGGER switch on the M7300 might be in the off position.
  • Issue on the unit may have blown or the individual fuse within the power module may have blown.

Hum or buzzing sound is heard|

  • If your preamplifier has XLR-balanced outputs, use them because they offer greater immunity- only to noise fields.
  • Remember to turn off all components in your system, including the amplifier, before disconnecting and connecting any cables during troubleshooting.
  • Disconnect all cables that come from outside the room, and check if the hum goes away. This includes such connections as cable TV, satellite TV, or rooftop antennas.
  • Try moving the speaker cables away from any of the power cords. Try just one speaker, connecting to each amplifier channel, and see if one channel is bad.

The amplifier will not turnout|

  • The amplifier must be plugged into a live outlet.
  • The power switch on the rear panel must be on.
  • The power mode switch may be set to the wrong model for your system.

Other Probable Causes of Noise

  • Speaker noise may also be caused by interference or noise on your AC line. Make sure there are no large appliances sharing the line, halogen lamps, or light-dimming Triac devices.
  • Try connecting your system to another AC socket on a separate line.
  • If the hum Is heard from within the M 7300 and not through the speakers, this may also be caused by interference on the AC or DC lines. The power transformers may turn this irllerfere­nce into an audible noise. Internal hum can be made worse by a shelf or cabinet resonation, so try moving the M7300 to another shelf
  • Try moving your components further away from the RV, especially if you ever notice the screen has changed color in the area closest to the component.
  • If you have very high-efficiency speakers, these may tend to reveal noises that other speak­ers do not.
  • An excessive temperature fault can be reset by allowing the amp to cool and cycling the power on/off button on the front panel. Excessive current (short circuit) can be reset by removing the cause of the short and cycling the power on/off button on the front panel. DC at output is a possible fault condition that Is equipment-related and requires technical assistance. Please contact the UandK Sound dealers if you have repeated problems causing the RED front panel light to illuminate that are NOT thermal or short circuit related.
