INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Please read carefully the user manual before using the product and keep it safe for further reference.

INTENDED MEDICAL USE
LAUBRY is a professional equipment for aid in the diagnosis. It is an acoustic instrument used for auscultation to listen to sounds within the human body in order to make a medical diagnosis:
for example during heart, lungs and other organic noises auscultation as well as measuring the blood pressure.

INDICATIONS
LAUBRY stethoscope is a medical device Class I, for aid in the diagnosis, intended for health care professionals, trained for its use. It is used to listen to sounds within the body for gathering information about patient condition and to measure blood pressure for all types of patients: adults and children.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Do not used on injured skin.
  • Do not used in case of instruments material allergies.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Fitting and adjusting the binaural tubes

The binaural tubes are designed to automatically adjust to your ears listening angle. Ensure that the branches of the binaural tubes are pointing forwards, thus matching the direction of the auditory canal [fig. 1] The binaural tube spring can be adjusted for improved comfort and better adjustment to your morphology.
To increase the spring tension, grasp the branches of the binaural tubes at the level of the earpieces and cross them over [fig. 2].
To reduce the spring tension. grasp the branches at the base of the binaurals and gradually move them apart to complete extension (fig. 3].

WARNINGS

  • Do not immerse the stethoscope in water/liquid.
  • Do not use if the packaging is damaged.
  • Do not sterilize.

MATERIOVIGILANCE
All serious incidents related to the use of a medical device should be notified to the manufacturer and the responsible authority of the Member State where the user and/or the patient live.

STORAGE AND HANDLING CONDITIONS

  • Keep the stéthoscope away from excessive heat or cold.
  • Avoid exposing stéthoscope to direct sunlight.

MAINTENANCE

Earpiece and diaphragm replacement

  • Earpieces:
    Regularly ensure that the ends are properly clipped/screwed on to preserve good acoustic quality. To replace them, pull on the ends then replace them by pushing the new ends into place.

  • Diaphragm:
    The diaphragm is held in place by the chill ring. To remove the diaphragm.
    grip the chill ring between thumb and index finger and pull to remove it from the chestpiece [fig. 4].
    Replace the diaphragm on the chestpiece, printed side up, and align the edge of the chill ring with the chestpiece groove. Using your thumbs, attach the chill ring to the chestpiece circumference [fig. 5].
    If the device seems damaged or if the sounds are not audible anymore, do not use the device. Contact the after sales department.

UPKEEP AND CLEANING RECOMMENDATIONS

Regular cleaning of your stethoscope and in particular of the earpieces, ensures optimum acoustic performance.

  • Clean the stethoscope with a cloth soaked in 70% isopropyl alcohol or moderately soapy water.
  • Remove the earpieces before cleaning them thoroughly by soaking, then drying them. Ensure that no dirt remains inside.

DISPOSAL
Dispose of the device at the specific collection point according to local regulation.

GUARANTEE

The LAUBRY stethoscope is guaranteed against manufacturing defects (parts and labour) under normal conditions of use, from the date of purchase (invoice date).

  • Chestpiece, binaural tube assembly: 5 years
  • Earpieces, diaphragm and chill rings: 1 year

The guarantee does not apply in the event of use non-compliant with instructions, improper use,modifications made by yourself or by an unauthorised third party. accidental damage and normal wear.
During the guarantee period. any stethoscope parts that present manufacturing defects shall be replaced and/or repaired free of charge, after returning the device to Spengler’s after-sales service.
In the event of a guarantee claim or of repairs. please return the complete stethoscope in its original packaging, accompanied by the dated invoice.
