IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Warning

Walls or furniture could be damaged by steam or heat from the appliance which could cause fire or discoloration. Make sure the temperature does not get too high when it is placed in a kitchen cabinet. When using the appliance on a wooden shelf, make sure there is enough space around the appliance as shown in the illustration below. More space is required when using the toaster near plastic cloths or resin walls and furniture etc. Make sure the front, and at least one side, are not pressed against the wall
- Do not fix the timer knob in place, or turn it too far; this is to avoid fire.

- Do not leave the appliance unattended while it is operating. Overheating could cause food to burn or start a fire. Make sure you stay close to the appliance and check the food while it is cooking.
- Do not heat canned or bottled food etc. They could explode or become extremely hot causing burns or injuries.
- Do not overheat bread that has been spread with butter or jam; this is to avoid the bread catching fire.

- The baking pan curves up in the middle (curved up ). This shape is not an abnormality. It has been designed this way to suit the toaster oven’s functions.
- Although the baking pan may bend when it is heated, it can still be used without problem.

- Remove the toaster oven and the baking pan from the box.
- Wash the baking pan and the oven rack (Refer to p. 10.).
Remove binding ties from oven rack
Before use, remove the binding ties (three points) that secure the oven rack.
Using the Toaster Oven
- Plug in the oven to an electrical outlet.
- Checking the set time Check that the timer is set to “OFF”.
- Place the oven rack on the oven rack frame.
- Place the food in the oven, and then close the door.

Overheat Protection Thermostat
If the internal temperature rises too high, the heating elements automatically turn off and on to lower the temperature. This is not a malfunction.
- If the oven is used to cook a number of items one after the other, the heating elements turn on and off more frequently which may increase the cooking time.
- When cooking items one after another, leave the door open so that the oven can cool down before cooking the next item.

When cooking frozen food
- When cooking frozen food, check the instructions on the food packaging that are “for toaster ovens”.

- Remove any ice on the surface of the food to cook the food evenly.
When cooking food that has a strong odor
- Wrap the food in aluminum foil, place it in the baking pan, and then cook.
When cooking fish or meat
- To prevent oil from spattering, wrap the food tightly in aluminum foil, place it in the baking pan, and then cook.
When cooking fried food
- Place the food in the baking pan and cover the pan with aluminum foil.
When cooking food that burns easily
- Control the conditions by reducing the cooking time, turning the food while watching the color as it cooks, or laying the food on aluminum foil or wrapping it in foil.
- If you are cooking food that can be easily burnt, cover it with aluminum foil to prevent it from burning.
Caution
- Note that the insides of frozen croquettes may squirt out if they are over cooked.
- Do not cook frozen tempura; this is to avoid fire.
- Note that when cooking food directly on the oven rack, the smell may linger and be absorbed by the next thing you cook.
- When using a cooking sheet, note that it could start a fire depending on the cooking time and conditions.
