JUICING TIPS
BEST PRACTICES FOR JUICING
Preparing ingredients for best results
- If you have any food allergies, be sure to choose ingredients that are safe and healthy for you.
- Cutting ingredients into smaller pieces will result in optimal juice extraction.
- Make sure you do not overload the Main Juicing Body/ Feeding Chute.
- Do not use any frozen ingredients with this product.
Clean the produce properly
- Rinse fruits or vegetables thoroughly with lukewarm water, produce wash, or water and apple cider vinegar.
Do not forget to remove any hard seeds, pits, and peel
- Fruits (e.g. Citrus fruits, melons) with thick and hard skin or rind must be peeled properly before juicing.
- Large pits and seeds from stone fruit (e.g. Peach, plum, mango, and apricots) should not be put into the Main Juicing Body / Feeding Chute to avoid any potential damage and malfunction.
Cut ingredients down into smaller pieces
- Produce should be small enough to fit easily into the oval Main Juicing Body/ Feeding Chute without having to force the pieces down with the Pushing Rod.
Food with less moisture and hard fiber
- Produce with less moisture and hard fiber should be cut into slices to extract the most yield.
- Leafy vegetables and foods with long, hard fiber (e.g. Celery, kale, spinach) should be cut into 4-inch pieces with the leaves rolled well.
Special tip for efficient juicing
- To extract the most for your juice, you can consider alternating soft and hard foods fed into the juicer to allow harder produce to process the softer produce.
- Only insert frozen food items into the juicer after they are adequately defrosted.
FOODS THAT CANNOT BE JUICED
- Fruits that do not contain juice to extract (e.g. Bananas, avocados, coconuts)
- Stone fruits that have a large pit or seeds that have not been removed
- Hard fruits or thick vegetables that are rich in fiber and starch
- Frozen fruits or vegetables (until defrosted)
HANDLING THE FEEDING CHUTE
CAUTION: Never place your hand, fingers, utensils, or any other foreign
objects into the Main Juicing Body/ Feeding Chute while it is still attached
to the motor body.
- You should only use the provided Pushing Rod to feed the produce into the juicer gently. Insert food gradually to ensure you are not using excessive force on the juicer accessories.
- Do not overload the Main Juicing Body. Ensure all pieces have been pushed down the Main Juicing Body / Feeding Chute before adding more.
- Due to the nature of some fruits and vegetables with long fibers, if the Auger/ Spiral gets stuck or becomes not operable, set the dial to “REV” and hold for a few seconds before operating again.
TROUBLESHOOTING
-
When parts are difficult to disassemble
After you have finished juicing, continue to run the juicer for an additional 10 seconds to ensure that all food has been properly processed and is not stuck anywhere in the Auger/ Spiral and Filter/ Strainer.
Allow the juicer to cool down after an extended period of use before disassembling the End cap/ Squeezer from the Main Juicing Body. The End cap/ Squeezer should twist off from the Main Juicing Body once the triangle alignment has been set to unlock.
CAUTION: Do not use excessive force to remove the End cap/ Squeezer from the Main Juicing Body to avoid damaging the product or its parts. -
Juicer turned off in the middle of juicing
Our juicer also has a self-protection function. If the working time exceeds 20 minutes, it will automatically shut down to protect the motor from overheating. Remember to allow the juicer to cool off before attempting to use it again. -
Juicer is stuck and is not operating
If the juicer is stuck and not operating properly, try the following steps!
• Turn the power switch to “OFF” position.
• Pull out the power plug
• Plug in the power supply again after waiting for a few minutes
• Turn the power switch to “REV” position and hold it for a few seconds
• Try operating again
If this reverse function is not working, please contact our customer service so that we can help you find a solution. -
Accessories are stained, damaged, or rusted
Our accessories are made of high-quality and food-grade materials. However, citrus fruits and vegetables such as carrots (with strong carotene) contain acids and strong coloring that may stick to the surface of our accessories, which is why they may be difficult to clean over time.
To prevent this, you should avoid squeezing large amounts of acidic fruits at one time.
Remember to always soak and/ or wash immediately after use.
For carrots and other hard vegetables or fruits, cut them into small pieces before putting them into the juicer. In this way, you can extract more juice and prevent food from being too hard, which can cause damage to the juicer accessories and shorten the juicer’s service life.
To prevent rusting of accessories or parts from getting stuck, you need to disassemble (there is a separate section dedicated to helping you through disassembling the product) and rinse them thoroughly immediately after use and let them dry completely before assembling them again. -
Juice leaks between the main juicing body and motor body
Check to ensure that the silicone outlet where the metal lever of the Auger/ Spiral is inserted has not been damaged and is installed correctly.
If damaged or missing, juice may leak. In this case, you should reach out to customer service for assistance at jocuuservice@gmail.com or replace the accessory. -
Vibration or unusual noise during juicing
The juicer and attachments may wobble due to vibrations by the motor base or the hardness/ toughness of the ingredients. This is not a malfunction but a normal part of the Auger/ Spiral’s extraction process.
Noise or sound may occur naturally when juicing certain ingredients such as apples (due to apple skin), carrots, celery, or beets.
DISASSEMBLY GUIDE
- Ensure that the power switch dial is set to the “OFF” or “0” position before disconnecting the Power cord from the supply outlet.
- Press and hold the disassembly button on the side of the motor body and start rotating the Main Juicing Body anticlockwise to remove it from the socket of the juicer machine. The accessories cannot be removed if the button is not pressed.
- After detaching the Main Juicing Body, twist the End Cap/ Squeezer anticlockwise until the triangle alignment mark (arrow) is aligned to unlock, then remove the Filter/ Strainer and the Auger/ Spiral from the Main Juicing Body.
CAUTION: Do not use force to twist the End cap/ Squeezer off. If it does not unlock easily, allow it to cool down before attempting again to ensure both parts are not damaged or cracked due to force.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Our Jocuu juicers are super easy to clean and maintain. All detachable parts can be cleaned with warm soapy water; some parts are also dishwasher-safe.
Tips for cleaning
-
Before cleaning, ensure that the juicer is switched off and disconnected from the power supply.
-
Detach and separate the accessories of the juicer (refer to the disassembly section).
-
Empty the pulp and juice containers! (juice can be kept fresh for up to 72 hours).
TIP: Pulp can be kept and used for pulp recipes. -
Rinse all the accessories and containers under running water and clean them with warm soapy water.
TIP: To prevent rusting of accessories or parts getting clogged, please disassemble and rinse the accessories thoroughly immediately after use, and let dry completely before assembling them again!
CAUTION: Do not use metal sponges to clean, as it will cause damage to the accessories and machine. Always clean the Auger/ Spiral with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth. -
To better clean the Filter/ Strainer, use a cleaning brush every time to prevent leftover traces of fruits and vegetables residue from building up and clogging the holes.
-
For cleaning the End Cap/ Squeezer, use a smaller cleaning brush to remove the pulp that is stuck and rinse with running water.
-
Wipe the outside of the motor base with a clean, damp cloth.
CAUTION: Never submerge the motor base into water or other liquid. -
Let all parts dry thoroughly before assembling and storing the appliance in a dry place. The Juice Container can also be stored in the Pulp Container.
TIP: Clean all detachable accessories as soon as possible after juicing to prevent residue and remaining pulp from drying. If any pulp residue does build up on any parts of the accessories, soak these parts in warm water for 30 minutes and allow the residue to soften to make it easier to remove.
CAUTION: Do not sterilize any parts with hot water at a temperature higher than 80°C or microwave to prevent parts from being heated, deformed, or damaged.
STORAGE TIPS
Storing the juice
For better taste, you should ideally consume the juice immediately after
juicing or refrigerate it in an airtight container or bottle and consume it
within 72 hours.
Storing the juicer
Store the juicer in a safe, dry place where its parts will not be damaged.
When moving the juicer, always hold it by the base (and not the juicer
accessories).
