Make sure the phone’s software is up to date. Go to [Settings] > [Software
Update] / [System update] / [About device]. If you want to know if your OPPO
phone is ready for a software update, go to this link. Note: After the upgrade
is completed, a series of optimizations will run in the background, which may
cause the phone to heat up and experience lags. For example, some apps need to
be re-adapted and optimized in the background, and files on the phone will be
re-scanned to avoid potential safety hazards. Please be reassured that the
phone will return to normal after some time.
Reset to factory settings
If the issue persists, back up and transfer your data, then perform factory
data reset: Back up and transfer the data on your phone first, then go to

OPPO Battery Life: Tips on How to Make It Last All Day
At OPPO, we strive to provide our customers with long-performance phones that
have great battery life. However, the phone over time will need the user’s
cooperation to battery use and battery optimization in order to save battery
Power and ultimately extend battery life. We know this may not be easy, but
with tips on how to save battery life and how to make the battery last longer,
you can continue to enjoy your phone for a longer period of time. This is a
handy tip for all OPPO models, especially the older models like OPPO A73 and
OPPO A57. Read on!
Applicable to: All OPPO Smartphones.
OPPO Battery Life
Additional information: OPPO only uses a Lithium-ion battery. This is
lightweight with high energy density power sources. It also has good
plasticity and it is the safest and the best kind.
Battery life vs battery lifespan
- Battery life. The amount of time your device runs before it needs to be recharged.
- Battery lifespan. The amount of time your battery lasts until it needs to be replaced.
How to increase mobile battery life
- Use OPPO original accessories. Lithium-ion is a smart battery that only fully charges or reaches its maximum lifespan if the original power adapter and USB Cable are used.
- Use at a suitable temperature. OPPO smartphone battery is designed to have a good performance in a wide range of ambient temperatures, with 16° C to 25° C (61° F to 77° F) as the ideal comfort zone. Avoid exposing your device to ambient temperatures higher than 35° C (95° F) which may lead to battery degradation, whereas at lower temperatures the internal resistance of the battery may increase, resulting in slower charging and thus longer charging times. When using your device in a very cold environment, you may notice a decrease in battery life, but this condition is temporary. Once the battery’s temperature returns to its normal operating range, its performance will return to normal as well.
Note: To avoid battery damage, OPPO smartphone will automatically stop charging or using at extreme ambient temperatures, and alerts you with “Temperature is too low/high, the battery cannot be charged”, “Temperature is too low/high, the battery cannot be fully charged”.
- Make sure to charge the phone when the battery level goes down to 10%. If the phone’s battery is fully discharged, the battery could fall into a deep discharge state, which will cause it to be slightly damaged.
- Make sure the battery is half-charged when you store the phone for a long term. If you want to store your device for a long term, two key factors that will affect the overall health of your battery is 1) the environmental temperature and 2) the percentage of charge on the battery when it is powered down for storage. Therefore, we recommend the following:
- Do not fully charge or fully discharge your device’s battery – charge it to around 50%.
- If you store a device when its battery is fully discharged, the battery could fall into a deep discharge state, which renders it incapable of holding a charge.
- If you store it fully charged for an extended period of time, the battery may lose some capacity, leading to shorter battery life.
- Power down the device to avoid additional battery use.
- Place your device in a cool, moisture-free environment that’s less than 32° C(90° F). If you plan to store your device for longer than six months, charge it to 50% every month.
Tips to extend mobile battery life
There are 10 simple ways you can preserve your phone battery life.
-
Update to the latest system version. Go to [Settings] > [System Updates] or [Software Updates] to check and update your phone’s software to the latest version.
-
Dim the screen or turn off Auto-Brightness. Go to [Settings] > [Display & Brightness] > toggle to turn off [Auto-Brightness] to extend battery life.
-
When you use your device to access data, a Wi-Fi connection uses less power than a cellular network – so keep Wi-Fi on at all times. You can go to [Settings] > [Wi-Fi].
- Swipe up to open Control Center, tap the Wi-Fi icon, and log in to a Wi-Fi network.
- Go to [Settings] > [Wi-Fi] to access a Wi-Fi network
-
Turn off GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi when not in use.
-
Go to [Settings] > [Accounts and Sync] / [Users & Accounts] and turn off [Auto-Sync Data] / [Automatically synchronize personal account data] / [Automatically sync app data]. This will stop apps to synchronize with Google servers or other servers automatically.
-
Close background apps. Tap the Multi-task or Recent Task key and tap the Close icon or [Clear] to close all background apps.
-
Turn on Power Saving Mode. Your phone lets you know when your battery level goes down to 20%, and again at 10%, and lets you turn on Power Saving Mode with one tap. Or you can enable it by going to [Settings] > [Battery] > [Power Saving Mode] / [Power Saving] / [Low Power Mode].
Note: Power Saving mode reduces screen brightness, shortens auto screen- off time, disables background sync. You can still use key functions like making and receiving phone calls, emails, and messages. When the battery is charged to 60% or is fully charged, Power Saving Mode automatically switches off. -
View battery usage information for each app. Go to [Settings] > [Battery] > [Power Usage] /[POWER CONSUMPTION DETAILS] / [Phone battery usage], select an app and you can find the power consumption. To improve battery life, you can close apps from running in the background.
-
Turn on Airplane Mode. When there is no cell coverage or low signal, this indicates that you are in a poor cell coverage area and your device is searching for a better signal, which will affect your battery life. You can optimize your battery life by turning on Airplane Mode. 2 ways to turn on Airplane Mode are:
- Open Control Center, then tap or,
- Go to [Settings] > [Airplane Mode] and toggle the slider to green.
Note: While in Airplane Mode, your phone cannot send or receive phone calls or messages, but you can still use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
-
Plug in and power on your computer to charge your device. Make sure your computer is plugged in and the power is on when you’re using it to charge your phone via USB. If your device is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, your phone’s battery may drain.
