TUIREL 91ns2-Mn7-L Underground Wire Locator
Precautions and steps for use
-
Before using the circuit breaker finder tool: turn off the power. Please do not use it on live circuits to avoid damaging the testing instrument!
-
Identifying the tone A of the signal being tested:
Connect the red clip of the transmitter to the wire being tested, make the ground stud and connect it with black clamps to enhance the signal (outdoor use). Place the receiver probe on the target wire and identify the sound.
-
Finding the breakpoint: During wire tracing, turn up the volume to the maximum on the receiver. The receiver doesn’t silent, the signal tone A will drop significantly at the breakpoint. This will help to preliminarily determine the range of the breakpoint. If you move slowly, it will be very obvious.
-
Narrowing down the range of the breakpoint:
Within the range of the signal tone A received by the underground wire locator, gradually decrease the volume and carefully distinguish the changes in the strength of the tone A. This process will help to locate the specific position of the breakpoint.
Knowledge Points of Line Finder
What should I do if there is sound everywhere?
- Check for other signal interference in the vicinity (in an area during line inspection where the lines are criss-crossed, there may be signal interference).
- Adjust the volume button on the receiver to accurately locate the line (while gradually decreasing the volume, carefully distinguish the tone changes).
How to solve the problem if the line cannot be detected/located?
- Ensure that the wire is not burned out (burned-out wire cannot transmit signals, so the receiver cannot receive signals and locate the wire).
- Enhance the signal (use a metal medium to make a ground stud.)
- Adjust the transmission power.
- Check the battery level.
Why is there a discrepancy between the detected depth and the actual depth?
The depth depends on the environment of the detected line. Interference media such as metal, pipes, or concrete will affect the receiver’s signal reception, resulting in actual detection depth being less than the described depth.
