Important Safeguards

  1. This filter system should not be used with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before and/or after the system.
  2. The filter should be kept in a dry and sheltered location and should never be exposed to freezing or extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. Such damage is not covered under any warranty.
  3. Be sure to note the inlet/outlet markings and the water flow direction.
  4. A three-valve bypass valve and loop may be installed to loop the entire system to make servicing easier.
  5. Hard copper pipes generally come in two types. Use the thicker “L” type copper pipe rather than the thinner “M” type copper pipe.
  6. The filter should be placed on the main water supply line near where it enters the house at any point past the main shutoff valve for the whole house, but before pipes branch off into multiple directions. However, you may choose to locate the filter after the line branches to the inside and outside plumbing depending on your filtration intent.
  7. Follow all local plumbing and building codes.

Installation

Pre-installation

  1. Turn off the water to your house before beginning the installation.
  2. Turn off power to your water heater before installation.
  3. Open all plumbing fixtures in the house to drain the lines of water and pressure.
  4. Lay out all the fittings and tools you will need to install the system depending on your configuration.
  5. Wrap teflon tape for threaded fittings.

Measure Whole House System and Cut the Pipe

  1. Determine location and water flow direction for the system.

  2. Check feed water pressure, recommend feed water pressure is 40-50 psi.
Notice This filter housing has a maximum operating pressure rating of 90 psi, if you suspect that your water pressure will at any time exceed 80 psi, a pressure regulator MUST BE INSTALLED before the filter housing. this action will guard against the water pressure exceeding the maximum pressure rating. detail.

  3. Measure, cut, and remove the section of water line where the system is to be installed. When determining the length of pipe to cut, account for filter width, shut-off valves, union fittings, pressure gauges (as needed) and bypass valve (as needed).

  4. Allow the cut line to drain. Smooth the newly cut ends down to avoid jagged points or edges.
Notice If the water flow of the pre-installed caps union points conversely to your water flow, you can converse the caps union by unscrewing the bolts that connect it with the bracket.

Mount the Cap of Housing

  1. You need 3/4″ or I “(depend on your housing inlet/outlet port size) fitting, to connect caps of housing. Please wrap proper quantity teflon tape to tight thread part. We recommend metal fittings. If your system just single stage, please go to next step directly.
  2. 4 pieces bolts /screws for each housing in the box, mount the housing cap on bracket.
  3. Mount the Filter Bracket
  4. Sevel.Geekpure-2023-Whole-House-Water-Filtration-System- \(8\)
Install same size (3/4″ or l” as housing port you get) male threaded adapter to the INLET and OUTLET (not included).

Install On Shut off Valve and Pressure Gauge (Optional)
Place a shut-off valve and/or a pressure gauge on either side of the system for ease of monitoring and ease of service.

  1. You may need to adjust pipe length or distance. Fit a pipe union onto the cut section of the main water line.
  2. Fit together pipe union and shutoff valve. Use Teflon tape on threaded fittings.
  3. Simultaneously fit together the shutoff valve and whole house filter using pipe nipple or hex nipple to draw them together on the FEED side of the filter.
  4. Simultaneously fit together filter and the shut-off valve on the OUTLET side of the filter. Fit pipe union to a shutoff valve on OUTLET side.
  5. Check pipe length and pipe union length to see if additional pipe length or union is required. Join pipe union and pipe.
  6. Fit pipe hanger on water INLET and OUTLET side for additional support.

And some consumer’s installation:

Filter Cartridges and Housings Assembly

  1. Unwrap cartridges and insert each into each of the housing centering on the standpipe.
  2. Please lubricate the o-ring with silicon grease. The rubber o-ring provides a water-tight seal between the cap and the sump. it is important that the o-ring be properly SEATED IN THE GROOVE of a water leak could occur.
  3. Hand-tighten the Blue or Clear Filter Housing. Then, using the supplied wrench, lightly snug the housing while making sure not to over-tighten.

Turn on Water
Slowly turn on water main to fill the housing. After a few minutes, the sound of water entering the system will stop.

Flush System and Check Operation

  1. Turn on water supply to pressure cold water line and check for leaks.
  2. Run water for about 10 -15 minutes to expel carbon fines. It is normal for some black carbon fines to appear in the water when flush filters. Continue to run water until it runs clear and all air has been purged. Shut the water off .and the water produced should be emptied and not used.
  3. Let the system sit for a while, and then flush again. It is not unusual for the water to appear”cloudy” for a day or so following installation. This cloudiness is actually tiny air bubbles being purged from the filters. This is normal and will clear up in a day or two.

CAUTION The water supply to your system MUST be from COLD WATER. Do not use hot water to perform the initial system flush.

Now, your system is ready for use.

Note

  1. The Life Time of the Filter Cartridge Depends on Usage Amount and Feed Water Quality.
  2. If the system has been working properly and the pressure is slowing, that mean filter is clogged, it is time to replace new filter cartridge.
  3. After prolonged periods of nonuse (such as a vacation), it is recommended that the system be flushed thoroughly for at least 10- 15 minutes before using the water.

Filter Change Instruction

Step 1-Remove Old Filters

  1. Turn off the water supply to the system. Open a nearby faucet to release the pressure and drain the water.
  2. Depress the red pressure release button on the top of the filter housing to relieve system pressure. This will make removing the filter housing easier.
  3. Unscrew the housing using the filter wrench included with your system, or a commercially available “strap” type wrench.
  4. Locate and remove the large 0-ring using a small, clean flat head screwdriver. Don’t try to remove any of the lubricant. Set it aside in a clean, safe place.
  5. Remove and discard the old filter cartridge.

Step 2- Clean the Housings

  1. Scrub the housing and cap with warm water mixed with about 2 tablespoons of household bleach using a sponge or soft rag. Wear rubber gloves. Rinse all parts very thoroughly!
  2. Lubricate the O-ring with clean silicone grease if needed. DO NOT USE PETROLEUM JELLY. Insert the O-ring in filter groove and press into place. Make sure the O-ring is seated correctly. This step is very important to ensure the proper filter seal. If the O-ring appears damaged, stretched, or crimped, it must be replaced.

Step 3- Install the New Cartridge

  1. Remove the new filter packaging and insert the filter cartridges into the housings, making sure they slip over the standpipe in the bottom of the housing.
  2. Align the bottom of the housing into the cap and hand tighten, then use the filter Wrench to fit it snugly. Do not over-tighten.
  3. Close any open valves. Turn on the water supply slowly to allow the system to fill with water. Inspect carefully for leaks. If a leak is found, remove the housing and inspect the O-ring to ensure that it is seated properly, and then retighten it.

Step 4- Flush the System
Regarding the whole flush procedure, please follow Instruction 6- Flush System and Check Operation on page 9.
