SERVICES

The FFP2 mask is a single-use particle-filtering half mask for protection against particles and meets the requirements of EN 149:2001+A1:2009. It covers the nose, mouth and chin. The half mask essentially consists of three layers of filter medium. The mask is optimally adapted to the shape of the face and ensures a comfortable fit, good wearing properties and good breathing comfort – with very good protection. There is no inhalation or exhalation valve. It passed the dermatological test on hu-mans with „very good“ and has been certified as personal protective equipment (PPE) according to EN 149:2001+A1:2009 by ift Rosenheim. The FFP2 mask provides an adequate seal on the wearer‘s face against the ambient atmosphere when the skin is dry or moist and when the head moves.

  • Protection against solid and liquid harmful dusts, smoke and aerosols as well as protection against airborne infectious agents.
  • Handling respiratory irritants that can cause long-term damage to the elasticity of the lung tissue.

In the medical field, FFP masks are also used by nurses or medical staff as protection when treating infected patients.

USE INSTRUCTION

Before using the mask, the following information must be read and followed. Failure to follow the instructions for use may result in illness or death!

  • The user of the mask must be instructed in the proper use of the mask.
  • Masks do not protect against gases and vapours.
  • The oxygen content in the breathing air must be at least 19.5% by volume.
  • Respiratory protection must not be used if the concentration, type or property of the pollutants is not known.
  • The mask must be changed immediately if it is damaged or the breathing resistance increases. At the end of a work shift, the mask must be always changed and is not reusable (only for one shift).
  • Never make any changes to the mask.
  • Facial hair such as beards can interfere with the required tight fit of the mask and cause leakage.

WEAR INSTRUCTION

  • Wash hands before putting on the mask. Avoid touching the inside of the mask. Please note: Only apply tension to the rubber in the direction of pull. Otherwise the head attachment may be destroyed.
  • Remove the mask by the elastic bands and do not touch the inside of the mask. Then open the mask and shape the nose clip by hand.
  • Hold the mask over your nose and mouth and pull both elastic bands behind your ears. If the mask is too loose, shorten the straps by tying a knot.
  • Shape the nose clip around the nose so that the mask fits well and securely. Make sure that the main load of the mask is on the cheeks and not on the nose.DGPSA-FFP2-NR-0757-Type-IIR-Medical-Face-Mask-FIG-5
  • Be sure to check the mask for air tightness. To do this, hold both hands over the mask and breathe in strongly. If you feel airflow in the nose area, readjust the nose clip and change the fit of the mask accordingly. If you feel airflow  around the edges of the mask, adjust the mask until it is no longer present.
