HOW IT WORKS
Your product picture will have soft lighting thanks to a light box’s even light distribution. The light passes through the white tissue paper or fabric sides of a seamless white poster board backdrop to produce a neutral backdrop.

Can you purchase a replacement background?
I’ve been shopping for a light box for some time and I wanted to buy one that came with several different colors. It seems that I can’t find one that I want that has everything I want so I focused on just get the most of what I needed, size, lights, ease of set up and decided I could purchase additional backgrounds separately. There are lots to choose from all ranging in different sizes, colors, designs and patterns.
I just got this and I’m getting bad shadows, is that normal?
you most likely just need to get the correct exposure, as they show in the videos and referenced in the user manual (they also have a YouTube channel with great videos…Amazon imaging). The bright white background will force any camera/phone using auto-exposure to under expose. Use the +/- settings if using a camera on auto mode, or start with the manual settings they provide in the videos/user manual. Or if using a phone, use the exposure slider now found on most phone apps or a manual app or the seller app they reference, which automatically adjusts exposure and can turn the background pure white if needed. The lighting in this particular unit is actually setup like a studio setup.
Where can i find a replacement power supply cord?
Get this one: UpBright 12V 4.16A AC/DC Adapter. You can find it on Amazon.
Can different backdrops be added?
You can clip different type of backdrops of your choice (color/material/theme). It doesn’t come with additional ones but the permanent one that’s built in.
My iPhone 5s seems to be producing a more grey or yellowish background when I shoot stuff in the light box. Any suggestions you photography wizards?
This has a 5600K temperature LED system, which is pretty much Daylight. It says it has a high CRI, but does not state what it actually is. On a regular camera, you can adjust the white balance. For my work, I have it set to Daylight, and my images on a Nikon D600 are fine. Check white balance settings for your iPhone. On my D600, I can set the color temperature to the 5600K; I also looked at W/B set at Daylight; I get similar results. So I think white balance may be on the wrong setting.
Where can we purchase replacement LED lights for this?
You won’t need replacements outside of a defective unit, in which case you have a year warranty. Led strips last for tens of thousands of hours and this unit is sturdy AF.
How do i repair the item i bought?
Takes one second to unplug it from the unit and it auto-switches off when you collapse it (takes seconds), or how about a cheap switch that attaches to the cable from local store. Is it broke? You need to repair it? This item is sturdy as they come.
Does the background stay pure white for Amazon listing images or do you have to Photoshop out the background and put in a pure white background?
The seller app they reference in videos and listing and user manual automatically adjusts exposure and can turn the background pure white if needed. Something only post-editing can accomplish unless you have that app or some other app. if you’re just talking about getting the backdrop to be brighter, you just need to get the correct exposure, as they show in the videos and referenced in the user manual (they also have a YouTube channel with great videos.
Is there a way to purchase a black backdrop?
The manufacturer does not offer any other backdrop. I made my own from a piece of fabric and a couple spring paper clips.
I need to order just the light, where can I do that?
Led light strips last many thousands of hours. If defective and it’s within a year you should be able to return it under warranty. But this item is super sturdy with protection for the lights. If you are trying to add more light, try just accusing exposure first, as that’s required to get optimal results using a bright white background. If you still want to add more lights for whatever reason, you can buy LEDs anywhere.
Has anyone used this for photographing glass? I am concerned with glare and reflective issue. Would a pop up tent be better for diffuse light?
Yes, it’s not ideal. The top lighting produces an unpleasant glare around the rim of most glass vessels. You can’t avoid glare with clear glass really but your money would be better spend on just a plain backdrop and a 3’x1′ softbox from the side. You want the lightsource to extend beyond the object above and below by a good amount so you can get a glare that defines the entire side profile, which is much more pleasing than lit from the top.
Can I fit a hoodie sweater?
Folded maybe, not opened up.
If i am missing the power supply cord, can it be replaced and with what type?
The original power cord supplies 12V DC at 50 watts. Amazon sells this power cord that supplies 12V DC at 60 watts and lists LED light strip among its uses, and it appears to have the same output plug as the original. It should work.
Have you ever washed the backdrop? How?
My backdrop somehow took on blue coloring from something I had sitting on it for weeks. Nothing except bleach could get the blue out. Looked fine again for a long time. Then I folded it up for storage for a couple weeks, opened it back up and now anywhere there was bleach has turned yellow. I am going to have to buy something to replace it.
Can you photograph clothing?
You can if it is folded or small. I’ve done shoes, shorts, and socks.
